The Role

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining our core small business data product. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build out new product capabilities starting from raw source data, through scalable data pipelines and models to the customer interface. We embrace customer focus and end-to-end ownership so your impact will be measured by the value we deliver and the technical quality and maintainability of our product.

What You’ll Do

• Understand the unmet needs of our customers and create capabilities to address these.  This usually involves a process of exploring data, prototyping, and evaluation, followed by the build of robust and maintainable data pipelines.
• Engineer scalable and maintainable data systems that tell the story of millions of U.S. small businesses (we use Databricks SQL, PySpark, and MLFlow).
• You’ll be building on top of our innovative data infrastructure that’s designed for iteration and experimentation (uses Dagster for orchestration and LakeFS for data versioning).
• Apply a data-focused, first-principles approach to problem solving. We value candidates who bias towards simple and elegant solutions but have the capability to implement state-of-the-art models and techniques when required.

You will play a central role in architecting, building, and managing critical systems in financial crimes prevention and broader risk mitigation, working with teammates and clients to solve high-impact, real-world problems.

The Role

As a Senior Product Software Engineer on the Applied Technologies team, you’ll design, build, and operate model-driven solutions and products that address complex problems in sanctions screening, AML, fraud detection and other risk-adjacent use cases. You’ll partner closely with go-to-market, product and engineering colleagues as well as client stakeholders to turn real customer needs into scalable, production-ready solutions.

You’ll own key product capabilities end-to-end, shaping and implementing technical designs and roadmaps, using sound judgement and engineering principles, and iterating based on customer feedback and outcomes. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys working across the full product lifecycle, thrives in ambiguous problem spaces, and is motivated by delivering high-impact solutions that create real value for customers.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join our Match Team and help shape the next generation of Enigma’s customer-facing data products.

In this role, you will combine advanced statistical and machine learning research with the engineering systems required to power fast, relevant, and reliable search experiences at scale. This is a uniquely high-impact role sitting at the intersection of information retrieval, ranking systems, semantic search, distributed systems, and customer data delivery.

The Role

At the core of Enigma’s product is our data, which makes both data science and delivery systems central to what we build.

As a Senior ML Engineer on the Match Team, you will lead efforts that improve the relevance, latency, and scalability of our customer-facing data products. You’ll work across the full lifecycle: framing retrieval and ranking problems, developing models and experimentation strategies, evaluating results using real-world signals, and implementing high-throughput search and retrieval systems.

This role is ideal for someone who is excited by both hard ranking/search problems and the systems challenges of turning those solutions into low-latency, production-grade retrieval systems.

What You'll Do

• Develop innovative solutions to complex problems in information retrieval, ranking, semantic search, query understanding, and recommendation systems
• Build and optimize low-latency, high-throughput search APIs, indexing pipelines, and retrieval systems using Python, Typesense, and AWS

Salary Range: $150,000-$175,000, plus commission incentive package.

We are looking to hire a Data Operations Associate who is excited and driven to play a key role in supporting our GTM and Product activities. As we pursue our mission of providing customers with unique insights on small businesses, your work will own customer-related data operations and customer onboarding projects, establish and improve data processes, and ensure high-quality data services for our customers.

The Role

As a Data Operations Associate, you will be on the front lines helping us meet our company’s mission of being the most reliable and accessible source of data and intelligence on small businesses. You will work closely with Enigma’s Customer Success and Product teams and use your scrappy process management and data analysis skills to showcase the power of our SMB data to our customers and prospects. 

We stand by the power of our data and you will create impact by driving efficient processes and delivering high-quality products to our customers. The ideal candidate is motivated by seeking out the business value of data and gaining experience in go-to-market efforts, looking deeply into the specifics of data products and distilling problems down to their simplest solvable core.

What You'll Do

• Fuel GTM activities at a fast paced startup environment from an operations perspective
• Scale and manage data and onboarding operations to streamline customer lifecycle end-to-end
• Own and lead data analysis projects, and generate the insights that help drive customer conversations forward
• Prepare regular reports to communicate data quality metrics and improvements to stakeholders
• Conduct thorough data quality checks to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness of datasets, and investigate issues
• Generate and maintain detailed documentation of data operations processes and data dictionaries
• Work hand-in-hand with the CS and Product teams to inform the product roadmap and data tooling investments

• Gain experience and train in developing tools and reports using best-in-class tech stack and infrastructure 
• Make an impact on Enigma’s growth from day one

Our Ideal Candidate

• Is a self starter with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
• Has strong analytical and quantitative skills and the ability to extract, manipulate and analyze data with a keen eye for detail
• Has proficiency in one or two data wrangling tools for tabular data, incl. SQL
• Brings strong business intuition to make sense of complex business data
• Has project management experience owning complex, custom deliverables and onboarding workflows end-to-end

• Has passion for data-driven decision-making and an eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and tools
• Has excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Is curious, coachable, reliable and driven for growth

Bonus Points If You

• An undergraduate degree in engineering, statistics or a data-related field
• Prior experience in data analytics, data operations or business analytics positions
• Prior experience with data products and/or strong understanding of machine learning concepts
• Familiarity with the world of enterprise software, data-as-a-service, or business intelligence tools
• 0-2 years experience working with data

The Opportunity

We’ve built out a best-in-class data asset and AI tools about businesses in the US. Our primary focus to date has been a sales-led motion targeting enterprise-size customers. We’re seeing indications that a much larger opportunity exists among non-enterprise businesses and agencies prospecting among small business. Our hypothesis is that we have the tech to offer a best-in-class product for this persona.

What You’ll Do

We’re looking for someone to build out a successful business line in this market that contributes meaningfully to our ARR. Reporting to the CTO, you’ll investigate customer needs, figure out the product limitations that are critical to solve. You’ll position and market our product to capture this market.

This is a role with high-level of autonomy and accountability. You’ll get support and encouragement from the team, but many problems you’ll need to work through on your own. And you’ll be fully responsible for delivering a successful outcome.
