What Is The Role
Elastic, the Search AI company, is looking for a high-energy SLED Enterprise Account Executive located in New Jersey or Pennsylvania to drive net-new revenue and expansion within strategic SLED Enterprise accounts. You’ll be the owner of a defined territory where you’ll build your own pipeline, tell the Elastic Search AI story, and close complex, multi-stakeholder deals in a consumption-based model. This role sits at the intersection of sales execution, technical fluency, and cross-functional collaboration—and is critical to our growth in the Enterprise segment.
What You Will Be Doing

Own your territory & build pipeline: Develop and execute a proactive outbound cadence (email, call, social) that generates ≥50 % of your booked opportunities.

Deep discovery & qualification: Uncover pain, business impact, budget, and decision criteria using frameworks like MEDDPICC so you chase only the highest-confidence deals.

Value storytelling & demos: Craft and deliver tailored narratives and live demos that map Elastic’s Search, Observability, and Security capabilities to measurable business outcomes.

Mutual deal strategy & forecast accuracy: Collaborate with customers to build formal close plans and keep your CRM up-to-date, maintaining ≥90 % forecast accuracy within ±10 %.

Executive negotiation & closing: Lead high-stakes contract and pricing discussions—defend your value, structure give/get trades, and land multi-year consumption commitments.

Domain & cloud acumen: Position Elastic as the Search AI platform of choice by speaking fluently about cloud economics, usage-based pricing, and modern data architectures.

Cross-functional partnership: Work hand-in-glove with Solutions Architects, Customer Success, Marketing, and RevOps to accelerate deals and drive exceptional customer outcomes.

Proven SaaS quota‐carrying success: 5+ years closing complex SLED Enterprise deals, consistently overachieving targets in a consumption-based or usage-model environment.

Compensation for this role is in the form of base salary plus a variable component, that together comprise the On-Target Earnings (OTE). On-Target Earnings (OTE) are based on a 50/50 pay mix (base salary / target variable).
The typical starting OTE range for new hires in this role is listed below. This range represents the lowest to highest OTE we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future.
An employee's position within the OTE range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
Elastic believes that employees should have the opportunity to share in the value that we create together for our shareholders. Therefore, in addition to cash compensation, this role is currently eligible to participate in Elastic's stock program. What is The Role
Elastic is searching for an experienced Public Sector Account Executive to own and expand our partnership with State of California agencies. Our Enterprise Account Executives are individual contributors, passionate about building new business and growing the Elastic footprint throughout the Public Sector, ensuring our customers are successfully leveraging Elastic cloud solutions across their organization. What You Will Be Doing
- Strategic account planning and driving increased demand for Elastic solutions within the State Government of California and its agencies, by helping users and customers derive value from their data sets
- Uncovering new and diverse use cases to enable our users to work smarter, not harder
- Working thoughtfully with customers to identify new business opportunities, managing through the sales cycle and closing complex transactions
- Collaborating across Elastic business functions to ensure a seamless customer experience
- Crafting a robust business plan through community, customer and partner ecosystems to achieve significant Elastic growth within your accounts
What You Bring
- A track record of success in selling large, complex deals or SaaS subscriptions into the State, proven by overachievement of quota and strong customer references and relationships
- A deep understanding and preferably experience selling into the ecosystem we live in, including Enterprise Search, Logging, Security, APM and Cloud
- The ability to form relationships and demonstrate credibility with C-Level Executives, Directors and Development teams
- Strong organizational sales skills around pipeline management, deal execution and forecasting accuracy capabilities, using SFDC and a MEDDPICC methodology
- An appreciation for the Open Source go-to-market model and the community of users who rely on our solutions every single day

- Previous experience selling in an Open Source model to large Enterprise or State accounts
Compensation for this role is in the form of base salary plus a variable component, that together comprise the On-Target Earnings (OTE). On-Target Earnings (OTE) are based on a 50/50 pay mix (base salary / target variable).
The typical starting OTE range for new hires in this role is listed below. This range represents the lowest to highest OTE we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future.
An employee's position within the OTE range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.

What Is The Role
We are building a new Inside Account Executive team focused on capturing opportunities in uncovered accounts within the Public Sector market. In this role, you will drive new business development, develop relationships with State/Local government agencies and Educational institutions or Federal Civilian agencies, and play a key part in our growth strategy.
What You Will Be Doing
- Develop and implement a proactive outreach strategy to build your pipeline and generate new business opportunities.
- Conduct thorough discovery to uncover customer needs, business impacts, and budget considerations using frameworks like MEDDPICC.
- Deliver tailored presentations and product demonstrations that connect our solutions to the specific challenges faced by public sector clients.
- Collaborate with customers to create formal close plans and maintain accurate forecasts in your CRM.
- Lead contract negotiations, effectively communicate value, and secure long-term commitments from clients.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal teams to ensure seamless customer experiences and accelerate deal closures.
What You Bring
- 3+ years of successful sales experience, ideally in the Public Sector, with a proven track record of exceeding targets.
- Strong ability to apply discovery frameworks to prioritize high-potential opportunities.
- Experience in delivering impactful presentations that demonstrate the value of our solutions.
- Proven success in negotiating contracts and closing deals.
