Position

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Director, Information Security to lead our cybersecurity and compliance efforts. Reporting directly to the Vice President, Information Technology the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in safeguarding our sensitive data, protecting our digital assets, and ensuring regulatory compliance across all aspects of our operations.

They possess extensive knowledge of cybersecurity technologies, including network security and threat detection. With exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities, they are well-equipped to lead the development and execution of a comprehensive information security strategy while fostering a culture of collaboration and security awareness among employees. 

What You'll Do

• Develop and execute a comprehensive information security strategy aligned with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. 
• Oversee the implementation and maintenance of robust cybersecurity measures, including but not limited to network security, endpoint protection, data encryption, access controls, and incident response protocols.
• Lead the development and enforcement of information security policies, procedures, and standards to mitigate risks and protect against cyber threats.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security into the design, development, and deployment of new products and technologies.
• Provide strategic guidance and direction on compliance initiatives, ensuring adherence to relevant regulations such as HIPAA, GDPR, FDA guidelines, and other global data protection laws.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and security audits to identify vulnerabilities, assess the effectiveness of controls, and recommend remediation actions as needed.
• Foster a culture of security awareness and compliance throughout the organization through training, communication, and employee engagement initiatives.
• Ensure that security policies and standards are understood and applied in contracts, engineering projects, and infrastructure.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for security incidents, breaches, and regulatory inquiries, leading investigations and coordinating response efforts as necessary.
• Collaborate closely with Cyber SOC for incidence response.
• Stay abreast of emerging threats, trends, and technologies in the cybersecurity landscape, continuously evaluating and enhancing the company's security posture.
• Represent the company in discussions with regulators, industry partners, and stakeholders on matters related to information security and compliance. 

Qualifications

• Post Graduate degree with 12+ years of experience or a Bachelor's degree with 15+ years of relevant experience.  
• Strong communication skills with the ability to manage up, down and to the sides. 
• Extensive knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards relevant to the biotech and healthcare industries, such as HIPAA, GDPR, FDA regulations, etc. 
• Proven track record of designing and implementing effective cybersecurity programs, including risk management, threat detection, and incident response. 
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization. 
• Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with a demonstrated ability to foster a culture of belonging and respect in the workplace. 
• Strong background in biotech, pharmaceuticals, or healthcare, with specific experience in global clinical trials preferred. 
• Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CRISC) highly desirable.

The expected salary range for this role is $248,000 to $270,750 depending on skills, competency, and the market demand for your expertise.

Position

We are currently seeking an experienced informatics engineer to contribute to the design, implementation, and development of our informatics processes and systems to support all phases of our research pipelines. You will work closely with our scientists and engineers to capture and manage functional requirements. You will be a core member of a team that is responsible to build scalable solutions to fulfill these requirements that fit into our information ecosystem and ensure the integrity of our data architecture.

You are prepared to tackle a broad selection of challenges as the company grows, and possess a deep desire to pursue creative solutions with broad guidance and a high degree of independence. You can partner with R&D leadership and functional area scientists to proactively identify areas of need, design solutions, prioritize work, coordinate pilot studies, ensure appropriate system usage, and regularly report on system metrics and portfolio execution.

What You'll Do

• Actively involved in the administration and integration of LIMS software and AI/ML platform into R&D projects and systems.
• Contribute to the design, development, test, and implementation of informatics solutions including LIMS, ELN, Inventory Management, etc.
• Implement data warehouse / data lake systems and pipelines for advanced analytics and AI/ML strategy .
• Implement data automation pipelines and ETL processes.
• Collaborate with a cross-functional team to develop an end-to-end digital architecture roadmap.
• Work with project stakeholders to analyze data management, analytics, and visualizations needs across R&D functions.
• Gather user stories, design applications, implement and integrate systems and guide the functionality of IT systems across the company.
• Ensure that systems are fully documented with system requirements, architectural design, and operational plans.
• Coordinate the training and support of end-users on system usage and best practices.
• Responsible for application licenses and forecasting annual usage.
• Participate in design of enterprise-wide data platform architecture and ensure the systems adhere to that architecture.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in LIMS engineering and ML Platform.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree with 3 years of relevant experience in computer science, life science, engineering, or a related field or equivalent training, fellowship, and/or work experience.
• Experience with ELN, LIMS, scientific data management, compound registration, sample inventory, instrument data capture, assay results, and electronic laboratory notebooks, such as CDD Vault and Dotmatics.
• A track record of achievements in designing and implementing LIMS apps for data access and/or visualization.
• Experience in evaluating, configuring, and tuning LIMS software for customized needs.
• Experience with administration, implementation, and integration of AI/ML and Data Lake Platform, such as Databricks.
• Applicable experience in software development and/or systems integration, preferably within a scientific or laboratory environment, especially one that is related to drug development.
• Experience with programming, scripting, and query languages and platforms like Python, Java, JavaScript, SQL.
• Experience with different types of data storage implementations, relational and non-relational (e.g. key-value, document, SQL, graph/graph databases), and optimizations of data storage by mixing and matches.
• Familiarity with Docker, containerized applications, and AWS cloud computing services.
• Experience in documenting detailed software requirements, user stories, business processes, and/or software specifications for both custom and Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) systems.
• Familiarity with laboratory operations and workflows, experience with designing, implementing, and maintaining computational workflows involving multiple modular steps, and knowledge of data analysis in life sciences.
• Proven experience working closely with scientific stakeholders to understand their informatics needs, and subsequently defining complex system requirements, scope, objectives, and key results in the context of larger organizational goals.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills in a fast-paced R&D environment where the product requirements and internal software tools may change over time.
• Able to present your work, both verbally and in writing, to diverse audiences including scientific stakeholders, technical teams, as well as research leadership.
• Experience working in a life sciences or biopharmaceutical environment such as early-stage research, drug discovery, or other biological sciences discipline is preferred.
