Edison Scientific builds and commercializes AI agents for science. Scientific discovery moves too slowly, and autonomous AI agents are how we intend to fix that. We're assembling a team of top researchers and engineers across AI and biology to build an AI scientist.
As our Senior Technical Recruiter, you will own and shape the talent function at one of the most exciting companies in AI. You will design and execute our recruiting strategy across engineering, science, and go-to-market, and you will eventually help build the team that accelerates scientific discovery for the world. You will operate in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, managing our AI engineering and other technical roles (and some non-technical roles). You will work directly with our engineers, scientists, and CEO to deeply understand what we're building and who we need to build it. You will bring and execute on world-class knowledge of tools and processes that will help us scale to 2x, 3x, even 5x our size, all while ensuring an exceptional candidate experience. This is a full-cycle recruiting role today with a strong trajectory to talent leadership. As Edison grows, this role grows with it.
This role is on-site at our San Francisco office in the Dogpatch neighborhood. Our office is a converted warehouse with high ceilings, open space, and reminders of the scientific breakthroughs we want to accelerate. You will report to our talent leader.

As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you'll be embedded directly with one of the world's leading science R&D organizations – taking full ownership of how Edison's AI agents create value in their environment. You'll need to deeply understand their science, their workflows, and their pain points, then determine where our platform can have the most impact.
This isn't remote support or implementation consulting. You'll be on-site, building relationships with scientists and research leaders, identifying the highest-leverage problems, and shipping solutions in fast cycles – often end-to-end. You'll operate with a high degree of independence and serve as the bridge between what our platform can do and what the customer needs it to do, feeding insights back to our product and engineering teams to shape the roadmap.

We're looking for an Applied AI Engineer to join the team responsible for building Edison's most powerful AI agents. Half of the public agents on our platform, including Kosmos, our flagship product, came directly out of this team.
You'll own the development and maintenance of production agents, prototype new capabilities with our internal science and engineering teams, and shape how our platform evolves. You'll spend some time with customers to understand real workflows and validate what you're building, but your primary focus is on the agents themselves – making them more capable, more reliable, and more useful across the life sciences.

As a Principal Platform Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing, scaling, and operating the core platform infrastructure that powers autonomous scientific discovery. Your primary focus will be the orchestration for our agents at scale — building and managing clusters that orchestrate thousands of persistent, stateful workloads, developing custom resource definitions (CRDs) and operators, and ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our compute layer at scale.
Our mission is to build an AI scientist, and you'll own the infrastructure foundation it runs on. AI agents performing long-running scientific research demand resilient scheduling, lifecycle management, and resource orchestration far beyond typical cloud-native workloads. This role will influence platform architecture, establish infrastructure best practices, and partner closely with backend engineers, ML engineers, and researchers to deliver a production-grade environment that lets science move faster.
At Edison Scientific, engineering at the senior level is about technical ownership and leverage- understanding how complex systems interact, making sound architectural tradeoffs, and building foundations that allow teams and science to move faster.
This role is on-site at our San Francisco office in the Dogpatch neighborhood. Our office is a converted warehouse with high ceilings, open space, and a team that genuinely believes in what they're building.

At Edison Scientific, we’re reimagining what’s possible when brilliant minds from science and technology work side by side. Our office hums with curiosity and shared purpose- biologists, engineers, and AI researchers trading ideas at whiteboards, in the wet lab, or over coffee. We believe the best breakthroughs come from open dialogue, deep focus, and genuine collaboration.
At Edison Scientific, we share a belief that AI can transform how science is done- not by replacing researchers, but by amplifying their ability to explore, discover, and create.
We bring together people who are deeply curious, rigorously scientific, and unafraid to experiment. Our culture values both precision and play- the discipline of the lab and the creativity of open inquiry.
We are a tight-knit, collaborative research culture built around small, integrated teams of biologists, engineers, and AI researchers. We believe the best way to enable discovery is to empower exceptional people to pursue “big-if-true” ideas- rapidly, iteratively, and without the typical distractions of grants, bureaucracy, or rigid hierarchies.
We stay flat and flexible, guided by transparency, kindness, and intellectual honesty. Every individual at Edison has a voice in shaping the science, the systems, and the culture we’re building together.
Because at the end of the day, what brings us together is simple: the shared drive to accelerate discovery and expand what’s possible for science.
We come to the office because it makes the work- and the experience- better. Our Dogpatch headquarters is a space designed for invention: natural light, art, lab glass, and a hum of conversation from people who genuinely like each other.
You’ll find spontaneous brainstorms, scientific demos, and the occasional Friday evening experiment that turns into a celebration of progress!
Does this sound like something you’d want to be part of? If so, please apply!
