As an Associate, Product Operations Strategy & Operations on the Dasher & Logistics team, you will play a key role in analyzing, tracking, and improving delivery quality, partnering with cross-functional teams to identify trends, support network cost strategies, scope impactful initiatives, and support the execution of quality improvement strategies.

Your work will be both strategic and deeply operational. You can either one day be sizing the impact of key product initiatives to support long-term quality improvements, then leading an experiment to drive real-world improvements. Or the next owning the charge on continuous improvement initiatives related to transportation cost efficiency and network optimization.

Own quality improvement workstreams: that address the most unique and challenging questions within the warehouse network team on how to improve quality.
Own network transitions: that redesign and redefine the transportation network through carrier, quality, and cost strategies
Run experiments and operations tests: assist in structuring and executing operational tests to identify solutions for reducing defects like mis-sorts or delivery delay times.
Support execution at scale: after proving out a concept, translating the wins into scalable solutions that we can apply across the entire network.
Drive analytical rigor: by building and owning models that track new product launch success, key quality metrics, weekly and annual costs, and support the development of internal reporting tools to measure and monitor network performance.
Build strong cross-functional relationships: by regularly partnering with Logistics, LiveOps, Analytics, Engineering, and Product teams to build quarterly roadmaps, scope and assess initiatives that can improve the efficiency, quality, and cost of the logistics system.

Compensation

Actual compensation within the pay range listed below will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location. Base salary is localized according to employee work location.

About the Role

DoorDash Drive seeks a Head of Transportation to lead fulfillment strategy and site operations for our expanding new verticals. They will lead the strategy, architecture, and optimization of our end-to-end logistics network—shaping how goods move from origin to destination across DoorDash’s growing Commerce Platform. As we scale one of our fastest-growing verticals, you’ll play a critical role in designing a cost-efficient, reliable, and high-performing transportation infrastructure. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Logistics, this role may be based near a major logistics hub and includes 10–20% travel.

Own network performance – Design and optimize transportation operations across first-mile and middle-mile that balance cost, speed, and service-level targets.
Influence cross-functional initiatives – Partner with Product, Engineering, Analytics, Finance, and Fulfillment Operations to deploy transportation technologies (e.g., TMS, route optimization tools) and inform roadmap decisions. You’ll need to translate operational needs into product requirements that drive efficiency and visibility.
Lead and scale network strategy – Identify capacity constraints, unlock efficiencies, and lead implementation of new lanes, consolidation strategies, or regional nodes.
Drive continuous improvement – Use data to identify cost drivers, service bottlenecks, and opportunities for redesign. Lead pilot programs and process rollouts to enhance reliability and scalability.
Own carrier and mode strategy – Select and manage carrier partners, develop modal strategies (air, ground, LTL, FTL, parcel), and optimize load planning to improve service and reduce transportation cost per order.
Forecast and budget network impact – Align multi-year network strategies with business goals. Build models to project volume growth, simulate future-state flows, and prioritize investments that maximize network ROI.

As an Associate Manager, Commerce Platform Logistics, you will play a key role in analyzing, tracking, and improving delivery quality, partnering with cross-functional teams to identify trends, scope impactful initiatives, and support the execution of quality and unit economic improvement strategies.

Your work will be both strategic and deeply operational. One day, you might be sizing the impact of key product initiatives to support long-term quality improvements. The next day, you could be deep-diving into customer satisfaction (CSAT) data to uncover the root causes of customer pain points and leading an experiment to drive real-world improvements.

As the part of this team, you will:

Track and analyze cost and quality metrics across strategic merchants, conducting deep-dives to identify key drivers of quality defects and savings opportunities.
Own logistics for high-growth business lines in Catering and Health
Assist in structuring and executing operational tests to identify solutions for reducing defects like lateness or in-store wait times.
Partner with Logistics, Analytics, and Product teams to scope and assess initiatives that can improve the efficiency and quality of the logistics system
Engage with cross-functional teams to support initiatives that enhance merchant and customer experience.
