The Role

We are hiring a Senior Financial Analyst to be a foundational hire on the Diligent finance team. Reporting to the Head of Finance with a dotted line to the Director of Business Operations, this is a hybrid FP&A and strategic analytics role. You will own the day-to-day mechanics of our planning and forecasting process while also partnering directly with Business Operations to translate operational and financial data into better decisions across the organization. This is a high-impact seat for an early- to mid-career finance professional ideally with an investment banking or private equity foundation who is ready to move from deal execution into an operating role where they will work directly with company leadership on the problems that are bringing robotics and embodied AI to life.

Responsibilities

Planning, Forecasting & Latest Estimate (LE)

• Own and enhance company-wide and functional forecasts, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and long-term growth objectives.
• Lead the monthly Latest Estimate (LE) process refreshing the full-year view based on actuals to date, updated run-rates, and revised operational assumptions. Opportunity to socialize the LE with the Head of Finance and functional leaders.
• Lead the annual budget and long-range planning (LRP) cycles, including driver-based financial models that incorporate operational, commercial, and strategic assumptions.
• Build and reconcile both top-down and bottom-up financial models so forecasts are internally consistent, realistic, and decision-useful.
• Maintain scenario and sensitivity models to assess the financial impact of strategic initiatives, pricing changes, deployment pacing, and capital allocation decisions.

Variance Analysis & Management Reporting

• Lead monthly and quarterly variance analysis (Actuals vs. Budget, vs. Prior LE, vs. Prior Year), translating results into clear insights on performance drivers.
• Identify emerging trends, risks, and execution gaps early, and proactively recommend corrective actions.
• Elevate financial storytelling by connecting results to operational and strategic context; produce clear, concise commentary for the Head of Finance, executive leadership, and parent company reporting.
• Partner with Accounting during month-end close to support accruals, flux explanations, and reporting integrity.

Business Operations Partnership

• Partner directly with the Diligent’s Director of Business Operations (BizOps) on strategic analyses that shape how Diligent runs including fleet economics, cost-to-serve, deployment pacing, customer profitability, capacity planning, and operational KPIs.
• Translate operational data (deployment metrics, service events, utilization, labor hours) into financial insight and vice versa, so leadership can make better-informed decisions faster.
• Build and maintain operating dashboards and unit economic models that bridge finance and operations.
• Support pricing, commercial strategy, and go-to-market decisions with rigorous, well-documented analysis.

Strategic Finance & Executive Support

• Prepare and deliver executive-ready materials, including presentations and financial narratives for leadership meetings, board reviews, and parent company reporting.
• Communicate complex financial concepts clearly to non-finance stakeholders across Engineering, Operations, Product, and GTM.
• Support ad hoc strategic analyses related to new market entry, pricing strategy, partnerships, and corporate initiatives.
• Operate with executive presence and earn trust as a go-to thought partner for senior leadership.

Systems & Tooling

• Use advanced Excel/Google Sheets and emerging productivity tools (AI assistants, scripting, workflow automation) to streamline reporting and analysis.
• Improve data accuracy, speed, and scalability across the FP&A stack through automation and process redesign.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, or a related analytical field.
• 3–6 years of experience across investment banking, private equity, corporate FP&A, or strategic finance, ideally with an Investment Banking or Private Equity foundation.
• Strong expertise in budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, scenario modeling, and long-range planning.
• Advanced proficiency in Google Sheets and Excel, including complex modeling, and comfort building models from a blank sheet.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial statements with the ability to complete 3-statement financial modeling.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to turn data into insight and insight into action.

The Role

We are hiring a Controller to own the accounting function at Diligent Robotics. Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Controller will lead monthly and quarterly close, own revenue and inventory accounting, and serve as the day-to-day point of contact with our external auditors. The role translates a scaling RaaS business into clean, GAAP-compliant financials on a public company calendar.

This is a high-visibility role for an experienced public company Controller who wants to apply their playbook to a fast-growing subsidiary, build a best-in-class accounting org, and partner directly with the Head of Finance, CEO, and parent company leadership.

Responsibilities

Revenue Recognition (ASC 606)

• Own revenue recognition across all Diligent commercial offerings & robotics-as-a-service (RaaS) arrangements.
• Review customer contracts to identify performance obligations, determine SSPs, allocate transaction price, and document recognition methodology in technical memos.
• Evaluate lease components under ASC 842 within customer arrangements and coordinate with legal and sales on contract structure.
• Establish and maintain revenue policies, controls, and workflows that scale with contract volume and deal complexity.

Inventory, Robot Fixed Assets & Cost Accounting

• Own inventory accounting across raw materials, WIP, finished goods, service parts, and customer-deployed units, including capitalization, standard costing, and revaluation.
• Lead physical inventory counts, cycle counts, and reconciliations across contract manufacturers and internal locations; investigate and resolve variances.
• Determine and defend COGS methodology, purchase price variance analysis, capitalized variances, and excess and obsolete (E&O) reserves.
• Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, and Engineering to ensure BOMs, routings, and landed costs flow correctly into the general ledger.
• Own fixed asset accounting for the deployed Moxi fleet and other PP&E, including capitalization policy, useful lives, depreciation methodology, and related disclosures.
• Monitor for impairment triggers, oversee asset retirements and disposals, and ensure accurate tracking of fleet movements between inventory, capitalized fixed assets, and customer sites.

External Audit & Public Company Interface

• Serve as the primary point of contact for the parent company’s external auditors during interim, quarterly review, and year-end audit procedures.
• Coordinate with internal audit (Serve or co-sourced) on SOX walkthroughs, testing, and remediation at the subsidiary level.
• Own the PBC (prepared-by-client) process. Deliver complete, well-supported schedules on time and defend technical positions in auditor meetings.
• Draft and present technical accounting memos on revenue, inventory, leases, and other judgment areas.
• Support Serve Robotics’ external reporting, including quarterly and annual filings, by delivering accurate, well-documented subsidiary financials on the parent’s close calendar.

Close, Controls & Reporting

• Own the monthly and quarterly close, including journal entries, account reconciliations, flux analysis, intercompany activity, foreign currency, and consolidation deliverables to the parent company.
• Establish, document, and operate a SOX-ready control environment appropriate for a public company subsidiary, in coordination with the parent’s SOX program.
• Maintain accounting policies, process narratives, and control documentation that support SOX, external audit, and operational scaling.
• Oversee AP, AR, payroll accounting, fixed assets, equity, and tax provision support in partnership with internal team members and external providers.
• Deliver timely, accurate GAAP financial statements and management reporting with clear variance commentary to the Head of Finance and leadership.

Team & Systems

• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team; build scalable processes, clear ownership, and a strong close calendar as the team grows.
• Support our transition from QBO to NetSuite, then drive continuous improvement and automation across NetSuite and connected systems (billing, expense, AP automation, procurement, equity).
• Partner cross-functionally with FP&A, Operations, People, Legal, and Tax to ensure accounting implications are considered in key business decisions.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Combination of Big 4 or national public accounting firm experience and industry experience.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years as a Controller (or equivalent functional leader) at a U.S. publicly traded company.
• Demonstrated ownership of the external audit relationship at a public company, including direct experience defending technical positions with Big 4 or national firm auditors.
• Deep, current expertise in ASC 606 revenue recognition across complex, multi-element arrangements.
• Deep expertise in inventory and cost accounting in a hardware, manufacturing, or similar physical-product environment.
• Strong working knowledge of GAAP.

Lead Clinical Robot Associate - Columbus, OH (on-site)

• Build and maintain observability tooling that supports debugging and root-cause analysis of robot performance in real-world deployments
• Define and standardize triage workflows and instrumentation practices across the robotics stack

As a Senior Software Engineer – Simulation / Support, you will accelerate the effectiveness of our engineering organization. This hybrid role spans developer tooling, software support and triage, and simulation infrastructure. You will help engineers build better software, faster, while strengthening the reliability and debuggability of our robotics stack in production.

You will develop state-of-the-art infrastructure to test and validate Physical AI models, and help bridge the gap between simulation and reality by improving synthetic data and scenario generation with real-world data from our growing fleet of operational robots.

• Develop and maintain simulation infrastructure used for testing autonomy, navigation, perception, manipulation and system level behaviors

This role is based in the Milwaukee, WI area and requires close collaboration across software, hardware, operations, and product engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-end test process ownership. Create, validate, and maintain production test protocols and gating criteria from incoming inspection through final test and shipment.
• Provisioning of bots. Design and operate provisioning flows (imaging, firmware deployment, configuration, validation) and the tooling/fixtures needed to provision and handoff robots for production.
• KPIs and continuous improvement. Own key production metrics — First Pass Yield (FPY), cycle time, and test coverage — and drive continuous improvements to meet throughput and quality targets.
