Sales Enablement Manager

WHAT YOU’LL DO
The Sales Enablement Manager is a critical full-time role responsible for building, operationalizing, and continuously improving DebtBook's sales enablement function. This individual will own the end-to-end enablement lifecycle - from auditing and rationalizing existing assets to designing repeatable sales frameworks that drive consistent deal qualification, value articulation, and pipeline progression.

This role is ideal for a hands-on enablement professional who can operate both strategically and tactically - someone who can design a framework in the morning and coach a rep through a live deal in the afternoon.

Enablement Asset Management
●    Own, audit, and continuously rationalize the full library of sales enablement materials
●    Eliminate redundancy and create a structured, intuitive asset architecture
●    Manage and optimize enablement content within systems like HubSpot, Confluence, etc.
●    Maintain asset inventory with ownership and version control

Platform Messaging & Value Narrative
●    Work with Product Marketing to develop platform-level messaging
●    Translate product capabilities into business outcomes
●    Develop “So What?” messaging for new features
●    Ensure consistent positioning across sales motions

Sales Execution Frameworks
●    Implement structured sales methodologies including MEDDIC/MEDDPICC, SPIN, and Command of the Message
●    Build repeatable motions for SDRs, SMB, Enterprise, and partner/reseller channels
●    Improve pipeline quality and deal progression

Enablement Operating Model
●    Design onboarding and continuous training programs
●    Build product release enablement processes
●    Establish manager-led coaching frameworks
●    Define enablement governance standards

Field Enablement & Deal Support
●    Partner with sales on strategic deals
●    Observe calls (Gong) and identify gaps
●    Translate insights into enablement improvements

WHAT YOU BRING
●    4–7+ years in Sales Enablement or related GTM role, preferably Fintech and/or Govtech
●    Experience implementing sales methodologies (SPIN, MEDDIC/MEDDPICC, Command of the Message)
●    Experience with tools like Salesforce, HubSpot, Confluence, Salesloft, LMS platforms
●    Experience working with partner and reseller channels
●    Experience in finance or capital markets concepts (preferred)
●    Strong ability to drive adoption and behavior change
●    Excellent written and verbal communication, including slides and written content
●    Ability turn complex product capabilities into crisp, buyer-relevant value narratives

• We have a Majestic Monolith of Ruby on Rails, React, and PostgreSQL.  It is hosted in AWS, and we use GitLab for pipelines and deployments.  We use feature flags to allow us to continually integrate our code.
• We have a Ruby on Rails JSON API with a Single Page App using React, TypeScript, and MUI React.
• Our engineers are full-stack.
• We have a small dedicated infrastructure team.
• Engineers collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and subject matter experts.
• Engineering Managers aren't tied to particular products here.  They manage engineers who are working on many different projects.
• Managers coach engineers to lead planning, breakdown, and execution on projects.
• Leaders don't do all the work, they do enough to know how to do it well, then they coach and delegate.
• Engineers lead projects before they are Senior.
• We don't expect perfect execution; we expect willingness to try new things and improvement over time.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Ramp up as an IC for your first 90 days. You'll ship code and be a technical lead on projects before taking on a team. This crash course is how you build the context to manage well here.
• Stay hands-on so you can model good work, spot real problems, and ship alongside them when an extra hand is needed.
• Identify and remove blockers, improve processes to help make your team more effective, and help us get better outcomes faster.
• Get people aligned and committed around the work we need to do.
• Get your team to work directly with others across the org.  Don't shield your team from others.
• Recruit engineers who help the team get better.
• Own onboarding. The hard work doesn't stop after the offer is signed. Experienced hires should be highly productive, working independently, and leading work within 90 days.
• Lead adoption of AI-assisted development.  Use the tools yourself throughout the SDLC.
• Effectively coach your engineers to avoid unnecessary complexity.

• 6+ years of software engineering experience

WHAT YOU’LL DO

In this critical, high-impact role, you will be the owner of the end-to-end Go-to-Market strategy for your assigned territory. Your primary mission is to establish and nurture long-term, high-value relationships with mid-sized and emerging municipal customers. This encompasses the entire sales lifecycle, including:

• Exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual targets for Net Revenue Retention from your existing book of business.
• Own and manage the entire sales cycle, from aggressive prospecting and lead generation to contract negotiation and final close.
• Conduct engaging product demonstrations and present the DebtBook value proposition to key decision-makers, including C-level and Treasury Department leadership.
• Proactively drive upsell and cross-sell opportunities within your existing customer base to maximize ARR.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of the sales pipeline, contacts, and activities, and provide regular, accurate forecasts utilizing Salesforce.
• Work cross-functionally with our Customer Success and Product teams to ensure a seamless post-sale handoff, high customer adoption, and maximum return on investment (ROI).
• Confidently navigate complex public sector sales processes, including legal review and procurement cycles, to facilitate timely deal closures.
• Collaborate with marketing to refine strategic initiatives and generate high-quality qualified leads within your assigned territory.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

• Minimum 3+ years of verifiable quota-carrying sales experience, with a strong track record in B2B SaaS sales required.
• Demonstrated success managing a complex, full-cycle sales process within the mid-market segment.
• Prior experience selling into Treasury, Finance, or Government departments is a significant asset.
• Knowledge of and experience leveraging a formal sales methodology (e.g., Sandler, SPIN, Gap, Challenger).
• Expertise in utilizing Salesforce (or equivalent high-level CRM) for pipeline management, activity logging, and accurate forecasting.

• Our back-end is a Ruby on Rails JSON API that communicates with a React SPA (single page application).
• All of our engineers work on the front-end, back-end and database.  We have some engineers who are much more experienced in one, but we can all do some work in any part of the stack.
• We have a small dedicated infrastructure team, but our teams deploy and monitor their own code.
• Engineers collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and industry specialists to understand problems and design solutions.  Engineers  write and manage breaking down work into tickets and owning the tickets.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Participate in all stages of the SDLC: solution shaping, system design, ticket writing/breakdown, write full-stack code, review code, perform deployments, participate in monitoring, and gather data for reporting.
• Own the quality of your work.  Write tests and work with your team to ensure everything works before merging and releasing.
• Work cross-functionally on your team to ensure work is scoped to deliver quickly and deliver the right functionality.
• Work collaboratively with other cross functional product-focused teams.

  • Our technical assessment is a pair programming session designed to be very similar to our daily work.  It is a collaborative session and it covers FE (react), BE (Ruby on Rails), and SQL schema design.
• 2 hr - Virtual Onsite Interview with members from the Product, Design, and Engineering teams
  • This will be multiple panel interviews each containing 1-2 team members.

As a Sales Development Representative at DebtBook, you will be on the front lines of our mission to empower public sector finance teams. This is a foundational role within our go-to-market organization, where you will be instrumental in identifying, engaging, and qualifying new business opportunities. You will serve as the first point of contact for prospective customers, engaging in high-impact conversations that will ultimately drive the growth of our business and help finance professionals across the country do their best work. This role is a perfect fit for a self-motivated, ambitious professional who is eager to launch a rewarding career in B2B SaaS sales.

• Own the entire sales development lifecycle, from initial research to qualified opportunity.
• Proactively research and identify new potential customers in the public sector, including local governments, higher education, and healthcare.
• Engage with inbound leads who have shown interest in DebtBook’s platform, qualifying their needs and assessing their fit for our solutions.
• Conduct strategic outbound prospecting via cold calls, personalized emails, and social outreach to initiate conversations.
• Articulate DebtBook's value proposition with precision and clarity, tailoring your message to resonate with the specific needs of public sector finance professionals who are navigating complex challenges like GASB 87 and GASB 96 compliance.
• Partner closely with Account Executives to develop and execute on territory plans and sales strategies, ensuring a seamless handover of qualified opportunities.
• Consistently achieve and exceed weekly, monthly, and quarterly targets for pipeline generation and qualified meetings.
• Maintain meticulous records of all sales activities and customer information within our CRM system to help inform and optimize our go-to-market strategy.

Job Overview 

DebtBook’s Sales team is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Enterprise Account Executive with a hunting mindset dedicated to driving long-term customer value through the acquisition of new logos. As an Enterprise Account Executive, you will be responsible for strategically engaging with the prospects in your territory to drive revenue as a result of executing contracts with net new customers.. Your primary objective will be to act as a strategic liaison between DebtBook and prospects across various verticals in the public sector to solidify value in our offerings, negotiate the terms of business and transition the customer to our implementation team. 

What You’ll Do

• Own the full sales cycle from prospecting to closing, focusing on enterprise organizations.
• Exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets within your assigned territory.
• Conduct engaging product demos for finance leaders and key decision-makers.
• Develop and maintain consultative sales relationships with executives, finance teams, and other key stakeholders.
• Collaborate with the marketing, SDR, and partnership team to build a pipeline in your given territory.
• Proactively prospect and generate leads through outreach, networking, and collaboration with the SDR team.
• Manage a healthy pipeline in HubSpot CRM, keeping sales activities and forecasting up to date.
• Educate prospective clients on the value of the product suite and how it can solve their financial management challenges.
• Work cross-functionally with marketing and sales teams to refine strategic initiatives and drive demand.
• Navigate procurement and contract negotiations to drive successful deal closures.
• Ensure a seamless transition to the Customer Success team for implementation and onboarding

What You Bring

• A proven track record of 5-7 years in account management, account executive, or consultative sales roles, preferably in SaaS.
• Experience managing enterprise-level clients with a focus on closing net new customers.
• Experience working with a structured sales methodology (Sandler, SPIN, Challenger, etc.) is a plus.
• Strong value-selling skills with the ability to engage executive-level stakeholders.
• Proficiency in CRM tools like HubSpot, Salesforce, or equivalent.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate value propositions effectively.
• Experience in forecasting your business to ensure it aligns with the broader communication stemming from leadership to our executive team and board.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced startup environment, thriving in moments of uncertainty, ambiguity, and change.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

The Account Executive will be responsible for driving new business and revenue growth by selling our treasury products to our target markets. The ideal candidate has a strong background in treasury sales and thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. This role requires a professional who is results-oriented, understands the unique challenges and opportunities of a start-up, and is skilled at building and managing a robust sales pipeline.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to achieve and exceed sales targets.
• Prospect, qualify, and close new business opportunities within the treasury sector.
• Effectively articulate the value proposition of DebtBook’s products to key decision-makers.
• Manage the full sales cycle from initial contact to contract negotiation and closing.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including product and marketing, to provide market feedback and contribute to product development.
• Maintain accurate records of sales activities and metrics in our CRM system.
• Continuously stay informed about industry trends, market changes, and competitor activities.

Qualifications:

• 4-8 years of experience in sales, specifically selling treasury products or to the treasury department.
• 1 year of experience working in a start-up or consulting environment. The candidate must demonstrate an understanding of ambiguity and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving work environment.
• Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales quotas.
• Ability to articulate their sales numbers and demonstrate their ability to track and analyze key performance metrics.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
• Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
