DESCRIPTION

As the Senior User Experience Researcher (UXR) for a new direct‑to‑consumer initiative at Bezos Academy, you will play a defining role in how we understand parents, families, and early learners. Focusing on parent and caregiver-facing experiences, you will uncover how software and AI can meaningfully support them and early childhood development. You will help build a new venture from the ground up by leading and executing research that directly informs product strategy and feature priorities.

You will work closely with designers, product managers, and curriculum experts to conduct studies, synthesize insights, and create shared clarity across the team. From exploration to launch and iteration, your work will guide what we build, why we build it, and how it comes to life. Your research will help ensure we are giving parents thoughtful, guided support as they navigate the early years of parenthood, with product experiences grounded in how babies, toddlers, and parents learn during the most critical years of brain development. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

• This is a full-time, benefits-eligible, salaried position.
• The full salary range for this position in Seattle, WA is $161,000 - $255,000 per year. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• Eight or more years of experience, including experience conducting UX research across mobile (iOS/Android) and/or web experiences, with a focus on consumer products
• Proven track record of leading UX research that directly shapes product decisions in fast-moving, ambiguous environments, with strong judgment around prioritization, rigor, selection of methods, tradeoffs, and developing product recommendations in early-stage work
• Deep expertise in qualitative research (e.g., interviews, diary studies, concept testing, usability) with the ability to integrate quantitative insights as needed
• Familiarity with product counsel to ensure user research and new product development align with legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements
• Skill in influencing cross‑functional partners and leadership, with exceptional written and oral communication
• Experience collaborating closely with designers, product managers, and engineers throughout the design and development process, including early discovery, concept development, iteration and evaluation

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Graduate degree in a relevant field
• Experience operating as the sole or lead UX researcher in an early‑stage environment, including helping establish or scale a research practice within a small or growing team

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Senior AI Applications Engineer at Bezos Academy, you will help build AI-powered software applications that support teachers’ abilities to deliver measurable results in early childhood education. As a hands-on, results-driven software developer, you will play a pivotal role in developing intelligent systems for teachers, staff and families with a small product development team. You have a proven track record of combining machine-learning models, high-quality data, and human-centered workflows into production-ready tools; you consistently deliver solutions that solve human problems. In past roles, you have successfully launched AI-powered applications in collaboration with product-development teams. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Ten or more years of relevant experience in digital product design
• Product design portfolio showcasing measurable external customer and business impact
• Track record of delivering user-centered product designs, from research and initial concept through final implementation, continual improvement and scale
• Expertise in Figma or other design and prototyping tools, as well as UX and visual design standards, front end design systems and component libraries
• Experience leading all phases of experience design, including user research, information architecture, persona and journey mapping, wireframing, prototypes, visual / UI design, style guides, usability, accessibility, and measurement
• Experience collaborating closely with product, engineering, and other partners to solve customer needs while making critical trade-off decisions (e.g., competing customer goals, constraints)

DESCRIPTION

As the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis at Bezos Academy, you will be responsible for leading the financial rhythms of the organization, including enterprise-wide annual and multi-year planning. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

• This is a full-time, benefits-eligible, exempt (salaried) position.  
• The full salary range for this position in Seattle, WA, is $173,000 - $293,000 per year. The upper third of the salary range is typically reserved for employees who have been in the role for multiple years and have demonstrated strong performance over time. Starting salary will vary by qualifications and prior experience. 
• This role includes 15 paid days of vacation, 4 days of paid personal time off, 9 paid days of sick (care) time, 9 paid holidays, 5 paid days off for an organization-wide winter break, and additional time off if required by applicable law. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• Ten years of relevant experience, with at least five years of people management and team leadership
• Demonstrated financial acumen and analytical experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
• Strong analytical skills and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., proficiency in VBA/macros)
• Experience working with financial analytical tools, modeling methods, and reporting systems
• Understanding of US GAAP and internal control frameworks 
• Superior communication skills, including the ability to identify and solve ambiguous problems, present findings and recommendations in well-written documents of six pages or less, and convey key info to audiences with diverse levels of financial and technical knowledge

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• MBA, CPA, or advanced degree in a relevant field 
• Ability to work in a rapidly evolving, dynamic work environment
• Comfort and confidence in translating business objectives into financial data structures used to support measurement of performance, with a keen eye for simplification
• Proven track record of working in consultative partnership with other business leaders to effectively improve decision-making, steward financial resources, and drive results
• Demonstrated ability to automate and use systems to streamline business and financial reporting processes
