We are currently looking for passionate early-career professionals and recent graduates to join our October cohort for an intensive, 6-month training program to become Data Engineering (with Databricks) Consultants.
We don’t expect you to be a Data Engineer on day one, but we do expect you to have the drive to become one. Upon completing the program, you’ll work within our EMEA and US customer teams to help them solve their data engineering, ML, MLOps, GenAI, LLMOps, and cloud migration puzzles.
DATAPAO's Data Engineering Academy is a 6-month intensive training program launching in early October 2026. It is designed to scale you up into a top-notch Data Engineer (with Databricks) Consultant.
The program is put together and run by consultants and technical Instructors who have delivered Databricks projects and enabled data professionals across EMEA for years. This means you will have the opportunity to learn from the world-class consultants and instructors who built DATAPAO's Gold Partner legacy within the Databricks Partner Ecosystem.
Phase 1 (Month 1-3)
This will be a high-intensity learning phase. You’ll follow a bi-weekly sprint model: one week of deep-dive technical classes, followed by one or two weeks of hands-on project delivery. You’ll master the stack we use for our global clients, specifically Apache Spark and Databricks on AWS/Azure.
Phase 2 (Months 4-6)
During this period, you’ll gradually move into complex capstone projects and also start shadowing our senior consultants on real-life engagements. The phase focuses on building your consulting skills by delivering simulated projects and shadowing real calls to observe how we navigate requirements and advise stakeholders. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to internal strategic projects, eg. building an automatic migration tool.
Post-Graduation
Once you graduate, you’ll officially join our project teams. Over time, as your seniority grows, you’ll transition into delivering and/or leading complex end-to-end projects across our entire global portfolio.
What does it take to fit the bill?
- You have solid engineering foundations: a BSc or MSc (preferably in a STEM field) and a good grasp of coding in either Python or Java. This is essential, as the program is optimized to level you up in Data Engineering rather than teach basic programming.
- You have proven work experience: at least 1 long-term internship completed (ideally in Software Engineering, BI Development, or a similar field) or real-life work experience as a Software or Data Engineer (but ideally not more than 18 months). While we value work experience greatly, the program is focused on enabling Junior, high-potential talent to become world-class consultants rather than modeling already well-established ways of working.
- You thrive to learn new things: be it technical knowledge or soft skills. As a Junior, we'd expect that curiosity is your second nature. That, coupled with a good level of self-knowledge, will set you up for success in our environment.
- You love solving problems & naturally take ownership: a complex puzzle doesn't make you anxious but rather motivates you to do your best work. And this is because you believe that impact should not be judged in years of experience but in one's commitment and ability to step up and stretch beyond their job title.
- You are a strong communicator & fluent in English: meaning that you can adjust your communication style and articulate complex technical concepts (in English) to all types of audiences.

You’ll spend the first 6 months mastering the core pillars of Data Engineering and earning your Databricks certifications through a high-intensity curriculum. This focus on learning doesn’t end here. - PTO and Working Hours: During the program, your working hours and PTO will be aligned with the curriculum to ensure you and your cohort get the most out of the training. Once you complete the program, you will transition to our standard flexible PTO and working hours scheme.
- Office and Remote Setup: As we believe that high-intensity learning and team integration happen best in person, the first 3 months of the program will be on-site in our Budapest office, which will move to a hybrid setup for the second half of the program. Once you graduate, you will transition to our standard flexible office policy, where we’d expect you to spend one day per week in the office on average.

The base salary for this position is 900,000 HUF gross/month. Additionally, you will receive a 750,000 HUF gross bonus at the end of each quarter (dependent on program milestones completion) up until your first work anniversary.
We will kick-off the selection process in mid-May for our upcoming October 2026 cohort.
This program requires EU citizenship or a valid right to work in Hungary. We do not currently offer sponsorship or visa transfers (including Skilled Worker visas). Applicants must have the legal right to work on a full-time basis to be considered for the program.

We are currently looking for a well-versed (Senior) Data Engineer to work with our EMEA and US customers and help them solve their data engineering, ML and/or ML Ops, and cloud migration puzzles.
As a Data Engineer, you are expected to deliver (across industries) on some of our most complex projects - individually or by leading small delivery teams. Although we work for the biggest multinational companies where years-long behemoth projects are the norm, our projects are fast-paced, typically 2 to 4 months long. The majority are delivered using Apache Spark/Databricks on AWS/Azure and require you to directly manage the customer relationship, alone or along with a Project Manager. Additionally, at this seniority level, we expect you to compound your impact across the team and the organization - by mentoring more junior engineers, evaluating the quality of their work, and contributing to hiring best-in-class data engineers.
What does it take to fit the bill?
- Consultant mindset & passion for customer experience - you prioritize your work with the customer in mind and you seek to advise (rather than purely execute) your customers on the best-in-class technical solutions;
- Excellent communication & presentation skills - you can adjust your communication style, and articulate complex, technical concepts to all types of audiences;
- Solid software engineering foundations - you are a stack-agnostic senior software engineer, have significant experience working on Unix/Linux, and a strong understanding of how Distributed Systems work. Additionally, you are familiar with (and keen to follow) best-in-class software engineering principles;
- Data & Cloud are part of your engineering journey - you played a role in teams that designed and implemented data-intensive applications and you have strong SQL & NoSQL hands-on experience. Exposure to Real-Time Data Processing Systems, Apache Spark, and/or the Big Data ecosystem is an advantage;
- Mentoring skills & strong predisposition to knowledge-sharing - are things that excite you. We consider ourselves a learning organization and believe that these are meaningful tools for one to compound his/her impact across the team and the organization. Thus technical mentoring and/or people management hands-on experience is a big plus;
- You thrive when having to solve problems & take ownership - you solve problems on your own and advise (or coordinate) others on how to do the same. Moreover, you love stepping up as a technical lead or identifying organizational gaps and filling them in - being an organizational process or documentation gap, a customer communication miss-match, or a resource allocation deficiency;

You are fluent in English and willing to travel (mainly in the EU and normally within a short business trip setup) up to 15% of your time.

We are currently looking for a well-versed (Senior) Data Scientist to join the team to deliver consulting expertise our EMEA and US-based customers.
What (exactly) will you do?
As a (Senior) Data Scientist, your responsibilities will span across the following dimensions:
Project Planning & Delivery
In the planning phase of a project, you're expected to lead or participate in scoping the engagement, designing high-level architecture, defining subtasks, and project delivery schedules. After the planning phase is over, you'll deliver the project on your own or within a mixed DS/DE team setup where you'll oftentimes take the role of a technical lead. Furthermore, during the project delivery, you will be client-facing, acting as DATAPAO's interface or SPOC to our customers.
During non-delivery cycles, you will provide ML/DS consultancy to technical teams for our EMEA customers. Our customers are either direct DATAPAO customers or coming via our Databricks partnership.
Data Science & AI consultancy
As a consultant, you will work closely with Databricks and cloud providers to understand the needs and requirements of clients. Based on your understanding, you will recommend solutions that leverage Databricks or native cloud features. Additionally, you will be responsible for conducting workshops to enable clients on these platforms.
Internal Solution Development
Besides customer projects, you’ll also work on internal solution development and research initiatives. Furthermore, you will be expected to grow your industry-specific knowledge and learn new technologies & methodologies by participating in the Data Science Group and by delivering solutions for internal usage.
Wider Organizational Initiatives
Occasionally, you can participate in developing Data Science and Machine Learning courseware (for our Education arm) to be delivered to customers or internal teams. You could also add value by providing technical (pre-sales) support for our Sales Team or creating content for marketing and sales.
Last but not least, if you would like to and have the required people skills, you can mentor other members of the data science guild. This includes regular tech mentorship meetings, one-on-ones, knowledge sharing sessions, and participation in performance reviews among others.

- Ability to deliver data science projects - you're capable of leading a team of data scientists/engineers in data science-heavy projects. You must be able to fully understand and translate business requirements, deliver them together with the team, and explain the proposed solution(s) to a non-technical/business audience;
- You thrive when having to solve problems & take ownership - you solve problems on your own and guide others on how to do the same. Moreover, you love stepping up as a technical lead or identifying organizational gaps and filling them in - being an organizational process or documentation gap, a customer communication miss-match, or a resource allocation deficiency;
- You are fluent in English and willing to travel (mainly in the EU and generally within a short business trip setup) up to 10% of your time;

Tech Skills
- Solid software engineering foundations (git, clean code principles, OO programming, etc.);
- Strong Python knowledge of the most common DS libraries;
- Understanding Large Language Models (LLMs) and familiarity with their frameworks/libraries;
- Advanced knowledge in cloud technologies, preferably in Azure or AWS;
- Proficiency in any deep learning framework;
- Good knowledge of data visualization tools/libraries;
- [BONUS] Experience with distributed computing, preferably Spark;
- [BONUS] Experience with MLOps;
- [BONUS] Experience with Databricks.
