The contributions you will make: Serves as a visionary thought leader and trusted advisor to sales department leaders and team members on sales enablement strategy. Develops and executes comprehensive sales enablement strategies aligned with business objectives and sales goals, leading highly complex cross-functional initiatives that optimize sales effectiveness and drive revenue growth. Effectively works with stakeholders at all levels, managing through influence and leveraging in-depth expertise of products, processes, tools and systems. Provides guidance, direction and mentorship to less tenured team members.

A typical day: 

Sales Support

• Designs, develops and delivers organization-wide programs that improve the effectiveness, productivity and performance of the sales organization and related teams with sales-oriented responsibilities.
• Builds strong relationships, leading proactive collaboration with stakeholders at all levels across the organization on product, process and soft-skills development needs necessary to support the organization's sales goals.
• With team leadership, defines metrics for success and develops strategies to streamline and optimize the sales cycle, ensuring maximum efficiency and effectiveness. Uses data insights to identify areas of improvement in the sales process.
• Evaluates current tools and researches new sales enablement tools and technologies that empower the sales team to work efficiently and close deals effectively.
• Ensures alignment on messaging, product updates and go-to market strategies between sales, marketing and client facing product owner teams.
• Develops and translates data analysis from various sales tools as well as research of best practices and industry tools to make recommendations for sales optimization.
• Develops competitive trends with the sales team.
• Delivers insights to sales that support efforts to continuously deliver value to the client. Understands the impact of sales enablement activities on sales goals and related metrics.

Project Research

• Leads cross-functional efforts to define opportunities, gaps and issues stemming from product/services offerings, sales process and sales tools.
• Partners with sales, leadership and client facing teams to understand the process and research needs.
• Experiments with new approaches, testing hypotheses and establishing KPIs to determine effectiveness. Balances innovation against known and effective approaches. Generates enthusiasm for new initiatives.
• Collaborates with sales and marketing teams to understand business goals, identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to enhance sales performance.
• Serves as a trusted advisor to team leaders and senior sales leadership, offering guidance and support in achieving strategic objectives.
• Establishes metrics and KPIs to monitor effectiveness and refine sales enablement programs, using data to make recommendations to senior sales leadership.

Cross-Functional Teamwork and Collaboration

• Evaluates, assesses and prioritizes enablement programs to meet agreed objectives that support sales goals and client success.
• Performs comprehensive research on all viable solutions to a project/issue or opportunity.
• Aligns sales enablement strategies with corporate strategy to develop business cases, cost/benefit analysis, ROI and support information to determine best path forward.
• Drives communication with leadership to determine when/if a project should move forward. Ensures a solution is developed in accordance with the definition of the project.

Industry Expertise

• Provides mentorship to sales enablement team members, offering guidance and support and serving as an escalation point for highly complex issues.
• Drives innovation by staying informed of new products, services, competitors, client needs and challenges within the industry that impact sales enablement strategies.
• Collaborates with industry partners to share information and insights and determine best practices and implementations feasibility.
• Develops and implements improvements to the design and enhancements of reports and analysis; ensures data quality and relevance.

The skills and experience we prefer you have: 

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, communications, marketing or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.
• Minimum of 10 (ten) years of related professional experience, preferably in a financial services environment.
• Minimum of 5+ years of direct sales experience or related client facing roles. Direct experience in B2C and/or B2B sales.
• Knowledge of federal and state (Illinois, Minnesota, and Wisconsin) laws, regulations and compliance requirements specific to the financial industry and Farm Credit.
• Expert knowledge of product life-cycle or product management/development and a deep understanding of B2C and B2B sales cycles and functions.
• Advanced interpersonal, problem solving, analytical, organizational and critical thinking skills.
• Must be a natural, authentic storyteller who can easily engage and educate audiences on complex products.
• Advanced skill in successfully managing complex cross-functional initiatives simultaneously.

Salesforce platform supports defined sales processes, enables pipeline visibility, and provides access to reporting and tools that drive sales performance. This position acts as a strategic consultant to internal stakeholders, translating business needs into CRM strategies and requirements, while identifying opportunities to improve adoption, standardization, and overall effectiveness. Drives consistent use of Salesforce through change management, best practices, and alignment between sales workflows and system capabilities. This position also maintains a dedicated focus on Salesforce and partners across the organization to support implementation, continuous improvement, and long-term value realization.

A typical day: 

CRM Strategy and Sales Process Optimization

• Serves as the primary internal business Salesforce consultant, providing strategic guidance on CRM tool capabilities, process optimization, and best practices
• Proactively identifies opportunities to improve Salesforce adoption, usability, and alignment with sales processes and business objectives.
• Develops project plans outlining tasks, milestones, timelines, and responsibilities.
• Owns the sales-facing CRM experience, ensuring Salesforce supports defined sales processes, workflows, and user needs.
• Translates business needs into CRM requirements and partners with internal teams to support implementation of enhancements.
• Serves as the Salesforce SME for Sales, maintaining deep understanding of platform capabilities and best practices.
• Supports the import and management of prospect lists and bulk contact data in alignment with established processes.
• Establishes and reinforces CRM governance, data standards, and best practices to drive consistency and data integrity.
• Monitors and analyzes CRM adoption and usage metrics, identifying trends and recommending actions to improve effectiveness.
• Generates insights related to CRM usage and enablement effectiveness for leadership.
• Leads change management efforts related to Salesforce enhancements, ensuring successful adoption and minimal disruption.

Adoption, Training and Change Management

• Designs and delivers Salesforce training on dashboards, reporting, and workflows.
• Supports CRM onboarding for new hires including navigation, expectations, and best practices.
• Identifies adoption gaps through data, feedback, and observation, and implements targeted interventions
• Develops and maintains user guides and documentation to support effective system use.
• Integrates CRM into onboarding and ongoing enablement programs.
• Reinforces best practices for data entry, pipeline management, and system usage.
• Supports change management efforts for CRM enhancements.

Reporting, Insights and Performance Enablement

• Coordinates dashboards and reporting for sales teams and leadership ensuring usability and access.
• Ensures reporting supports standardized pipeline visibility, forecasting, and performance management.
• Supports sales planning by enabling access to CRM data and reporting tools.
• Partners with stakeholders to align reporting with defined metrics
• Collaborates with internal teams to ensure CRM tools function effectively for users.
• Monitors reporting usability and escalates issues as needed.
