Strategic Accounts Manager

Opportunity Overview:
We are seeking a Strategic Accounts Manager to join our Payment Integrity Team. In this role, you will help support and grow key client relationships while serving as an important liaison to cross-functional and internal teams. You will play a key role in ensuring clients receive a high-quality experience through strong communication, operational support, and proactive problem solving.
This role is highly collaborative and customer-focused, requiring someone who enjoys building relationships, navigating complex issues, and driving continuous improvement. You will partner closely with leadership and internal stakeholders to support strategic initiatives, improve processes, analyze client data and trends, and help identify opportunities to enhance the value delivered to clients. Your work will directly contribute to client satisfaction, retention, and long-term growth.

What you’ll do:
- Manage and monitor client communications, ensuring timely responses, issue resolution, and escalation when appropriate
- Track and coordinate client-submitted support tickets across internal teams through resolution
- Analyze client data, trends, and key performance metrics to generate insights and support strategic decision-making
- Develop customer-facing materials, reports, presentations, and communications that clearly convey recommendations and value
- Support cross-functional initiatives related to client onboarding, implementation, process improvements, training materials, and communication strategies
- Partner closely with operations, analytics, product, clinical, compliance, and other internal stakeholders to solve complex client challenges
- Participate in monthly and quarterly business reviews both internally and externally with clients
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve client experience, operational processes, and customer outcomes
- Help ensure alignment across teams to support successful client execution and long-term account growth
What you’ll need:
Must-haves
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- 6+ years of experience in account management, client success, healthcare operations, consulting, or similar client-facing roles
- Strong communication, relationship management, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Experience supporting cross-functional initiatives and collaborating with both business and operational teams
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and support business recommendations
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment with shifting priorities
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and highly collaborative
- Passionate about delivering a proactive, supportive, and partner-oriented client experience
- Passion for improving the healthcare system and helping drive better outcomes for clients and patients
Nice-to-haves
- Healthcare domain experience strongly preferred; experience working with health plans is a plus
- Familiarity with Mac, Google Suite, Confluence, and JIRA
- Experience supporting strategic client initiatives, implementations, or operational process improvements
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and take initiative in unfamiliar areas
- Project management experience, including planning, coordination, and execution across multiple stakeholders

The salary range for this position is $125,000 - $140,000 annually; as part of a total benefits package which includes health insurance, 401k and bonus. In accordance with state applicable laws, Cohere is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. Individual pay decisions are ultimately based on a number of factors, including but not limited to qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and internal alignment.

Opportunity Overview:
This is a unique opportunity to lead world-class software engineering teams that power Cohere Health’s product innovation and delivery at scale. Our engineering teams operate with a high degree of autonomy, solving complex challenges across the business in close partnership with product and design. In this role, you’ll also oversee data engineering and core platform engineering functions, ensuring the technical foundation supports rapid growth and innovation.
As a member of the leadership team, you’ll work closely with business and AI partners across the globe to co-create solutions and drive the seamless execution of critical initiatives. You’ll foster a culture of innovation, champion Cohere’s values and leadership principles, and apply deep computer science expertise, including algorithms, data structures, and scalable system design to deliver products that transform healthcare.
What you’ll do:
- Recruit and build high-caliber full-stack engineering teams
- Promote a culture where teams feel stimulated by their work and passionate about their role
- Leadership and Management:
- Lead and manage engineering teams, including recruitment, mentorship, and performance evaluation
- Nurture a collaborative and innovative culture within the engineering department
- Develop and implement strategic plans for the engineering department in alignment with the company’s goals
- Ownership and accountability of key engineering metrics of the platform, i.e. quality, availability, response time metrics, time to value, time to build, etc.
- Strategic Planning:
- Contribute to the company’s overall strategy and business planning
- Identify opportunities for technological advancements and innovation
- Develop long-term plans for technology development and deployment
- Product Development:
- Work closely with product management to define product requirements and specifications
- Oversee the design, development, and deployment of products and features
- Recommend applicable technical patterns and solutions that are aligned with architectural guiding principles and standards through a regular cadence of delivery and continuous improvement
- Ensure the scalability, security, and performance of products
- Compliance and Security:
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies
- Implement and maintain robust security protocols to protect company data and intellectual property
Required Qualifications:
- 15+ years of experience managing software engineering teams in a fast-paced, agile environment
- 12-15 years experience in designing and operationalizing software products at scale
- High proficiency of both written and verbal English communication
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent experience
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality software on time and within budget
- Proven success in growing and managing geographically distributed teams using successful recruiting, employee development, and retention
- Prior experience in B2B enterprise SaaS startup
- Experience with US Healthcare standards and regulations, e.g. FHIR/HL7, HIPAA
- Experience with Payment Integrity (PI), Claims data processing and applied ML in healthcare or life sciences
- Experience building and operating a compliant, secure data lake or lakehouse
- Payer focused health-tech experience strongly preferred
- Design and implement the PHI data access controls
- Ability to partner with business to represent Technology during the client calls.

Opportunity Overview:
Cohere is looking for an experienced payment integrity strategist to join our payment solutions team as we seek to expand to new payer clients. You will be a key member of the growth function, leading the process to help prospects develop the strategy and business case for PI transformation.
You will be charged with quickly developing a deep understanding of our customers’ needs and Cohere’s market-leading platform, which includes reimbursement, clinical and technology aspects. You will apply this understanding, together with your creative problem-solving and analytical skills, to support the sales function by developing compelling business cases for complex enterprise software partnerships. Your role as the glue between Cohere’s commercial and operational functions (e.g., product, payment solutions, operations, sales, etc.) will ensure that customer needs/requirements are translated seamlessly to proposals, statements of work, and to the teams charged with implementation.

What you will do:
- Become an expert on market and technology trends impacting payment integrity and related claim adjudication functions within health plans (e.g., utilization management, value-based care, interoperability, etc.)
- Engage with payer executives as a thought partner, advising them on market trends, best practices, and opportunities to drive more business value from their PI function
- Serve as a Cohere SME on sales calls with payer executives, capable of leading demonstrations and speaking to the value and differentiation of the Cohere platform
- Lead consultative process to help prospects develop the strategy and business case for PI transformation:
- Collaborate with sales executives and prospects to understand prospective customers’ business, adjudication, technical, and compliance needs
- Collaborate with product, selections, operations, and integrations team
to recommend Cohere solutions for the client’s needs - Collaborate with selections team to quantify savings for prospective clients
- Prepare executive presentations for prospective customers
- Project manage cross-functional proposal / pricing process
- Ensure client buy-in and internal sign-off on proposal documents
- Draft statements of work to appropriately reflect client requirements and Cohere capabilities
- Partner with solution architecture and implementation teams to ensure requirements translate into build plan
- Apply expertise to develop thought leadership content that helps clients shape their PI transformation agendas
- Contribute to growth function by identifying opportunities to improve our internal processes and deliverables to build a scalable and high impact sales model
What you’ll need:
Your background & Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree. Graduate degree in relevant field (e.g., MBA, MPH, etc.) preferred
- 7+ years of experience in similar role for a payment integrity vendor, health-tech company, healthcare consulting, or health plan
- Deep experience selling into, or working with, health insurance plans across different lines of business
- Strong understanding of healthcare revenue cycle, claims reimbursement, and payment integrity
- Understanding of health plan technology systems and workflows
(e.g., core claims platforms, contract systems, claims data, analytics, etc.) - Understanding of claims processing, ICD-10 Coding, and CPT/HCPCS coding
- Exceptional verbal and written communications skills
- Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical ability. Experience with financial analysis and return on investment modeling
- Customer-orientation and start-up ready mindset; comfortable with ambiguity
- Highly collaborative and experience participating in team-led sales models
- Experience working with cross-functional teams; project management experience a plus
- Willing to travel to prospect meetings
