The Marketing team at Cloudflare is at the forefront of sharing our mission to help build a better internet. As an intern, you'll gain hands-on experience and contribute directly to our efforts in making an impact.
About the Role
As a Marketing Events & Campaigns Intern, you will play a crucial supporting role in the successful execution of Cloudflare's marketing initiatives. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience across a variety of marketing channels, including webinars, trade shows, and digital advertising. You will contribute to the end-to-end process, from logistical coordination to ensuring our creative assets are polished and ready for launch. Your work will directly support lead generation efforts and help deliver impactful marketing experiences to our prospects and customers.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the logistical planning and execution of virtual webinars and in-person trade shows, including scheduling, vendor coordination, and materials preparation.
- Support the development and deployment of digital ad campaigns across various platforms, ensuring proper tracking and optimization.
- Coordinate the readiness of marketing assets, such as website banners, email communications, and landing pages, collaborating with design and content teams.
- Help manage and track leads generated from events and campaigns, ensuring data accuracy and timely follow-up.
- Contribute to post-event and campaign reporting by gathering data and assisting with performance analysis.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improving marketing processes and campaign effectiveness.
Skills & Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
- Available for a full-time 12-week internship, working from one of our US hub offices 3-5 days a week during the summer or fall (May-Aug/Sept-Dec).
- Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with digital marketing concepts and platforms is a plus.
- Proactive attitude with a desire to learn and contribute in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and with cross-functional partners.
- Proficiency with standard office productivity tools (e.g., Google Workspace, Microsoft Office).
Bonus Points
- Previous experience (academic or professional) with event coordination or digital campaign support.
- Understanding of lead tracking and CRM systems.

About the Team
ETI’s Storage Infrastructure team is responsible for the core storage layer that underpins many of ETI's stateful services. Our scope ranges from managing the physical hardware to operating the distributed databases and storage systems built upon it. We run this infrastructure globally across Cloudflare's network, which presents unique and complex engineering puzzles. We navigate efficiently expanding storage capacity, optimizing rebuild operations, and coordinating operations across failure domains to uphold durability. While other service teams focus on product development, our mission is to ensure the underlying storage is reliable, performant, and scalable.
You’ll be joining a highly motivated team that is building the next generation of distributed storage services.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you will help build and operate the next generation of globally distributed storage systems. You will own your code from inception to release, delivering solutions at all layers of the stack. On any given day, you might write a design document for a new provisioning system, model failure domain dependencies across edge locations, benchmark new storage hardware, build standardized observability and runbooks for distributed database clusters, or automate operational toil through purpose-built tooling and intelligent automation. You can expect to interact with a variety of languages and technologies including Rust, Go, Saltstack, and Terraform.
Examples of desirable skills, knowledge, and experience
- Strong programming skills with languages like Rust, Go, or Python
- A solid understanding of distributed systems concepts such as consistency, consensus, data replication, fault tolerance, and partition tolerance
- Experience with distributed databases and storage systems
- Experience with infrastructure configuration tooling and infrastructure as code
- Familiarity with storage fundamentals: block devices, filesystems, SSD characteristics
- Experience building and maintaining high-throughput, low-latency systems
- Understanding of network fundamentals as they relate to distributed storage -- bandwidth constraints, latency tradeoffs, cross-datacenter replication
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to explain technical decisions clearly

About the Department
Account Executives, Channel Account Managers, Business Development Representatives, Solution Engineers, Customer Success, and Sales Operations - all working together help our customers adopt Cloudflare and create great Internet-enabled experiences. The sales team at Cloudflare helps customers solve real, technical problems while creating the revenue streams that help the company provide free service to millions in our community.
What you'll do
We are looking for a seasoned sales professional to help cover the Federal market for US. The ideal candidate will possess both a sales and technical background that enables them to drive engagement at all levels with technical and non-technical buyers.
As an Account Executive, you'll be responsible for developing and executing against a comprehensive account/territory plan as well as driving sales in a defined territory and/or account list to achieve revenue targets. The person in this role will also assist in creating and articulating compelling value propositions for Cloudflare services.
Additional responsibilities will include:
- Manage contract negotiations
- Maintain a robust sales pipeline
- Develop long-term strategic relationships with key accounts.
Examples of desirable skills, knowledge and experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience selling technical solutions or products to the Public Sector (Federal Government) ; HHS, SSA or DOT experience preferred (but open to other agency experience)

Compensation
For Washington DC, based hires: The expected salary range for this role is $269,000 - $370,000, depending on experience and qualifications. Job level and compensation will be determined based on the candidate's experience and alignment to role expectations.

About the role
We're seeking an exceptional Principal Engineer to join our newly formed Product Platform Task Force—a high-impact team that tackles critical infrastructure initiatives spanning our entire product suite and Cloudflare's massive edge network.
What you'll do
You'll partner with engineering leadership to identify, architect, and drive execution on complex technical projects that transcend individual team boundaries, from organization-wide authentication and authorization systems to ultra-distributed architectures that leverage Cloudflare's global edge infrastructure, performance optimizations, and shared services that enable multiple products. This role is perfect for a seasoned technical leader who excels at solving ambiguous, high-stakes problems with broad organizational impact, mentoring senior engineers, and establishing technical direction that influences the entire engineering organization. You'll have significant autonomy to shape our technical strategy while working collaboratively across product teams, platform engineers, and executive leadership to ensure our infrastructure scales efficiently and our engineering culture thrives.
Responsibilities
- Define technical strategy and lead execution of high-impact, cross-cutting initiatives that benefit the entire engineering organization, such as service-to-service authentication systems, RBAC/authorization frameworks, ultra-distributed architectures leveraging Cloudflare's edge network, API layer improvements, observability infrastructure, and shared services that span our product portfolio.
- Architect and implement security-critical systems including authentication, authorization, and access control mechanisms that work seamlessly across our distributed infrastructure, ensuring both robust security postures and excellent developer experiences for teams building on these platforms.
- Design and build ultra-distributed systems that take full advantage of Cloudflare's massive global edge network, including edge computing with Workers and Durable Objects, ensuring our services deliver exceptional performance and reliability to users worldwide while managing the complexity of geo-distributed state and coordination.
- Set architectural standards and technical direction for our Product Platform stack—including Go services, Python pipelines, TypeScript edge computing (Cloudflare Workers/Durable Objects), and PostgreSQL data layer—ensuring decisions balance immediate business needs with long-term scalability, maintainability, and engineering velocity.
- Identify critical technical debt, systemic inefficiencies, and infrastructure gaps across the organization, building business cases and driving consensus among leadership to fund and execute solutions that might otherwise fall through the cracks of product-focused roadmaps.
- Serve as a technical force multiplier by embedding with tiger teams or product groups that need deep infrastructure expertise, providing architectural leadership, hands-on implementation where needed, and ensuring projects ship with production-grade reliability, security, and performance.
- Mentor and elevate senior engineers across the organization through code reviews, architectural discussions, and technical design reviews, establishing patterns and practices for distributed systems, security, and edge computing that raise the bar for engineering excellence throughout the company.
Desirable Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
- 10+ years of software engineering experience with a demonstrated history of leading complex, organization-wide technical initiatives that delivered measurable improvements to system performance, reliability, security, developer productivity, or engineering culture.
- Deep expertise in building distributed systems and production infrastructure at scale, with proficiency in Go and strong working knowledge of Python/TypeScript; proven ability to make sound architectural decisions for systems that span multiple data centers, regions, or edge locations.
- Strong understanding of authentication, authorization, and security fundamentals including experience designing and implementing service-to-service authentication systems, RBAC/permission models, identity management, or similar security-critical infrastructure.
- Extensive experience with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases at scale, including advanced optimization techniques, replication strategies, and understanding the tradeoffs of distributed data storage and consistency models.
- Strong track record of technical leadership and influence without direct authority, including driving consensus on technical decisions across multiple teams, mentoring senior engineers, and establishing architectural patterns that are widely adopted across an organization.
- Exceptional ability to navigate ambiguous problem spaces, identify the highest-impact technical work, and drive projects autonomously from conception through adoption—balancing pragmatic execution with long-term technical excellence.
- Please be prepared to discuss specific examples of organization-wide technical initiatives you've led, particularly distributed systems or security infrastructure, their measurable business impact, and how you influenced technical direction across multiple teams.
Nice to Have Skills
- Deep experience with Cloudflare's developer platform, particularly Cloudflare Workers, Durable Objects, and architecting ultra-distributed applications for edge computing environments at global scale.
- Previous experience as a Principal Engineer, Staff+ engineer, or technical leader on platform, infrastructure, or task force teams that operate outside traditional product roadmaps with a focus on enabling engineering organizations.
- Proven expertise in building developer platforms, service mesh architectures, zero-trust security systems, API gateways, or other foundational distributed infrastructure that significantly improved engineering velocity or operational excellence.
- Experience architecting and operating billing systems, usage metering, or other high-stakes platform components that require exceptional reliability, accuracy, and work correctly in distributed, eventually-consistent environments.

The Cloudflare Legal team is at the forefront of some of the most complex and novel legal issues in technology today. You will be directly supporting our Policy and Public Sector Legal teams. What you’ll do
As a U.S. Public Policy and AI Innovation Intern, you will dive headfirst into the intersection of public policy and cutting-edge technology. Primarily supporting our Washington, D.C.-based U.S. Federal, State and Local Policy, Policy Strategy, and Global Government Relations teams, you will assist in efforts to both (1) navigate and respond to relevant tech policy, legislative, and regulatory processes, and (2) build internal AI-driven tools to enhance the efficacy and efficiency of our policy work. Policy operations and advocacy
- Maintaining internal policy knowledge bases and issue trackers.

What you’ll do as a Senior Solutions Engineer, Public Sector Federal
You are the technical lynchpin through the entire sales cycle - pre-sales and account technical leadership. You will work closely with our Public Sector prospects and customers to educate, empower, and ensure their success on the Cloudflare platform. Your technical expertise in Cloudflare’s global distributed network and technology will allow you to find best-fit solutions for prospects, to train and onboard new customers via video-conference or in person, create documentation, and to support the long-term technology strategy of the customer.

Athenian Project: In 2017, we created the Athenian Project to ensure that state and local governments have the highest level of protection and reliability for free, so that their constituents have access to election information and voter registration. Since the project, we've provided services to more than 425 local government election websites in 33 states.
1.1.1.1: We released 1.1.1.1 to help fix the foundation of the Internet by building a faster, more secure and privacy-centric public DNS resolver. This is available publicly for everyone to use - it is the first consumer-focused service Cloudflare has ever released. Here’s the deal - we don’t store client IP addresses never, ever. We will continue to abide by our privacy commitment and ensure that no user data is sold to advertisers or used to target consumers.
