What You'll Do:

• Direct the employee acquisition process to assure that Challenges seeks out and acquires the best candidates with the most efficient process in the fastest possible way. This would include managing the application, interviewing and new hire on-boarding processes.
• Direct and monitor the HRIS system to ensure that all data is correct, and we are benchmarking and monitoring all appropriate data, including HR metrics, organizational charts, on-boarding of employees, turnover, and other key data points.
• This person will coordinate with HR Leaders to make sure that all benefits and payroll data points are accurate, and the appropriate processes are in place to ensure that our employees have the best possible experiences with all matters related to Human Resources.
• Plan, implement and monitor all annual employee evaluation processes. This would include interacting with the appropriate HR disciplines to make sure that our employees are developed and directed towards their personal goals that improve their career as well as the company.
• Craft policies that support internal promotion as well as monitor those policies.
• Develop an organizational development plan for the company, which would include skills gap analysis, organizational development and any DEI goals and plans.
• Manage a core competencies framework to ensure employee skills align with organizational goals. This includes partnering with departments to define and assess role-specific competencies.
• Lead workforce planning by forecasting future staffing needs and aligning hiring and development strategies to meet business goals.
• Oversee succession planning to ensure strong internal pipelines for key roles and support long-term leadership development across teams.
• Implement engagement feedback processes such as surveys, stay and exit interviews, and 30/60/90-day check-ins to improve retention and employee experience.
• Design and manage a mentorship program to support employee development and career growth through structured guidance and support.
• Use HR data and reporting to identify trends, reduce costs, and improve processes that support overall HR effectiveness.
• Conduct compensation analysis to ensure roles are competitively benchmarked and structured to attract and retain top talent.

Who We Want:
We are seeking a temporary Workday Specialist to serve as a hands-on consultant supporting the implementation and ongoing buildout of our Human Capital Management (HCM) system as we transition from ADP to Workday. This individual will play a critical role during implementation leading up to our July 1 go-live, quickly learning our business processes and system design, and becoming the primary point of contact for continued system configuration post-launch. 

The ideal candidate brings deep Workday expertise, thrives in a fast-paced and evolving environment, and can independently execute system builds while collaborating closely with HR, Payroll, and business leaders. This person will help bridge the gap between implementation and steady-state operations by executing prioritized enhancements while internal teams ramp up on daily system usage.

What You'll Do:

• Serve as the primary Workday subject matter expert during implementation and post go-live stabilization
• Partner with internal teams to understand business needs and translate them into Workday business process configurations and system enhancements
• Continue system buildout post go-live, including workflows, business processes, reports, and configurations based on team direction
• Support the transition from ADP to Workday by learning current processes and ensuring accurate system alignment
• Troubleshoot system issues and provide hands-on support during and after implementation
• Assist with testing, validation, and issue resolution leading up to and following go-live
• Create and maintain documentation for system processes, configurations, and enhancements
• Collaborate with HR, Payroll, and IT teams to ensure system functionality meets business requirements
• Provide guidance and knowledge transfer to internal team members as they are trained on day-to-day system operations
• Help prioritize and execute a defined backlog of system enhancements required to stabilize and optimize the platform

When and Where:
This is a temporary, full-time position (Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM) located onsite at our Corporate Office in Walker, MI. This role requires in-person support throughout implementation and post go-live activities. The assignment will conclude once the system is stabilized and operating in a sustainable state.

What You Need to Have:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, or related field preferred
• 5+ years of hands-on Workday experience, including system configuration and business process design
• Proven experience supporting or leading Workday implementations, preferably from go-live through stabilization
• Strong understanding of HCM systems, data structures, and integrations
• Experience transitioning from legacy HRIS platforms (such as ADP) to Workday is strongly preferred
• Ability to translate business needs into system solutions with minimal direction
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities
• Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally
• Ability to work independently while maintaining alignment with team goals
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in handling sensitive information
