About Your Role 

In this role, you will become a core finance partner to a major part of the business, helping leaders understand the financial implications of their decisions and shaping how the firm evaluates and executes opportunities. You will take on meaningful analytical responsibility from day one, work directly with senior stakeholders, and contribute to decisions that materially impact the business. This role offers a steep learning curve and accelerated development for someone motivated to build strong financial judgment, ownership, and influence early in their career. 

You will drive the following responsibilities:  

• Serve as the primary finance partner for a business unit, managing the end-to-end relationship between finance and a key area of the firm. 
• Continuously evolve how finance supports decision-making by improving clarity, rigor, and relevance for operators and leaders. 
• Play a central role in budgeting and planning, ensuring resources are aligned with business priorities and strategic objectives. 
• Support the full capital deployment lifecycle by helping shape business cases for new initiatives, evaluating trade-offs, and assessing strategic or operational shifts. 
• Maintain accountability for how capital is deployed through data-driven analysis, tracking, and ongoing dialogue with business partners to ensure spend aligns with intended outcomes. 
• Build clear, well-structured financial analyses and models that inform leadership decisions, proactively investigate key questions, and translate insights into actionable recommendations. 
• Create concise materials and narratives that communicate the “so what” behind the numbers, enabling senior stakeholders to make confident, informed decisions. 
• Act as a financial steward by bringing discipline, transparency, and rigor to how the firm allocates resources in support of long-term value creation. 

Minimum Qualifications  

• 2–4 years of analytical experience in roles such as FP&A, corporate finance, accounting, or business planning. 
• Demonstrated experience building financial models, scenario analyses, and structured recommendations to support business decision-making. 
• Strong ownership mindset with the ability to take initiative, solve problems creatively, and carry work from idea through execution. 
• High analytical horsepower with the ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, high-performance environment. 
• Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to partner with senior leaders, ask sharp questions, and build trust through clarity and sound reasoning. 
• Comfort challenging assumptions thoughtfully and bringing data-driven perspectives to discussions. 
• Interest in leveraging technology and staying current on AI and automation trends to improve efficiency and decision-making. 
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring timely, high-quality deliverables. 
• Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting with a strong academic record. 

Physical Requirements  

This role will follow a hybrid schedule, with an onsite requirement alternating between our NYC and Westport campuses.   

Compensation

The expected annual base salary for this position is $160,000 - $200,000. The total compensation package includes variable compensation in the form of a discretionary target bonus.

About the Finance Department and Role

Finance is the guardian of Bridgewater’s financial resources. We seek to drive sustainable shareholder value by controlling, safeguarding, and optimizing use of the firm’s financial resources. The department provides strategic partnership, insights, and independent challenge along with the delivery of high-quality financial reporting, forecasting and analysis while maintaining effective and efficient operational control. 

The Director of Investor Relations is a key driver of Bridgewater’s investor narrative, serving as the connective tissue between the business, the CFO and Board, and our shareholders. This role is devoted to synthesizing complex financial and business information into clear, credible, and compelling communication for the firm’s most senior internal and external stakeholders. The role will also oversee the  Company’s equity valuation process, driving the day-to-day analysis and conceptual thinking, understanding valuation trends and market comparables, and summarizing results for senior audiences and shareholders. 

Reporting to the Head of Investor Relations, the Director will evolve Investor Relations from a historically operationally focused function into a proactive, narrative-driven capability that shapes how Bridgewater’s performance, strategy, and long-term value creation are understood by shareholders and governance bodies. The role requires strong judgment, exceptional synthesis, strong analytical skills, market intelligence, and comfort operating at the CFO and Board level. 

You will drive the following responsibilities: 

Own and evolve Bridgewater’s investor narrative 

• Serve as the primary architect and steward of the firm’s investor story, ensuring consistency, clarity, and strategic coherence across all shareholder communications. 
• Translate business strategy, performance, and risk into investor-ready messaging that reflects both near-term results and long-term value creation. 
• Proactively identify narrative gaps, emerging investor questions, and areas where messaging must evolve as the firm grows. 

Senior stakeholder and shareholder engagement 

• Act as the senior point of connection between the business and its shareholders, maintaining trusted, long-term relationships grounded in credibility and transparency. 

• Prepare and deliver high-quality, client-facing materials for shareholders, the CFO, and the Board, including quarterly and annual reporting, strategic updates, and ad hoc analyses. 

• Partner closely with the CFO on Board-level reporting and investor communications, exercising sound judgment on framing, emphasis, and disclosure. 

Strategic leadership of the IR function 

• Expand and elevate the scope of Investor Relations beyond historical execution (e.g., distributions, statements, reporting) to include forward-looking strategy, positioning, and insight. Partner well with Equity and Ownership Operations, Corporate Finance, Legal, People, and other teams. 

• Set the agenda and priorities for the IR function as it scales from an individual contributor model to a mature team capability. 

• Establish best practices for synthesis, storytelling, and senior-level communication within the IR team. 

Synthesis, analysis, and decision support 

• Integrate inputs across finance, accounting, tax, FP&A, and the business to produce clear, decision-relevant insights for senior leadership and shareholders. 

• Drive the Company’s equity valuation process in partnership with senior IR leadership, owning the analytical approach and synthesis. 

• Lead the Development of analyses related to valuation, capital structure, performance drivers, and scenario planning, with an emphasis on what matters most to investors. 

• Ensure complex financial information is distilled into concise, structured outputs that support effective governance and decision-making. 

Cross-functional partnership and execution 

• Partner with accounting, FP&A, tax, legal, and business leaders to ensure accuracy, alignment, and consistency across all investor-facing materials. 

• Oversee shareholder-related processes (e.g., earnings, distributions, reporting) at a strategic level, ensuring operational excellence without being consumed by day-to-day execution. 

• Drive continuous improvement and systemization where it improves clarity, efficiency, or investor experience.

• Have a hunger to leverage financial analytics to tell and shape the business story. Experience forming well synthesized, structured recommendations from financial information and communicating with leadership creating summaries and presentations to communicate financial information or other data effectively. 

• Are an independent thinker. At the same time, have an eagerness and curiosity to learn about financial concepts and their business implications from experienced leaders in the space. 

• Have a high level of analytical ability. Good common sense and can quickly iterate in an ambiguous, fast-paced, and high-performance environment. 

• Seek and give feedback 

Minimum Qualifications: 

• 7+ years of progressive experience in investor relations, corporate finance, investment banking, management consulting, corporate development, or a related strategic finance role. 

• Demonstrated experience operating at the CFO, Board, and senior executive level, including preparing and presenting high-stakes materials. 

• Exceptional synthesis and communication skills, with a track record of turning complex financial and business information into clear, compelling narratives. 

• Expertise with financial analysis and modelling. 

• Strong understanding of valuation, capital structure, financial performance drivers, and investor perspectives. 

• Proven ability to operate independently with sound judgment in ambiguous, high-expectation environments. 

• Experience building or scaling a function, team, or capability is strongly preferred. 

Physical Requirements

Employees are required to work at our Westport CT campus as their principal work location, a minimum of four days per week.

Compensation:

The wage range for this role is $230,000-$385,000 inclusive of base salary and discretionary target bonus. The expected base salary for this role is between 70% - 80% of this wage range.

Bridgewater is currently hiring a Senior Finance Associate to join its Corporate Finance team. The Senior Finance Associate will play a critical role in delivering high-quality financial reporting, liquidity and capital planning, and cross-functional finance initiatives. This individual will serve as a reliable thought partner and executor to the Director of Corporate Finance, driving analysis, owning key workstreams and deliverables, and coordinating with junior team members to progress workflow efficiently. The role also encompasses improving processes and tools so the team can operate with greater speed, clarity, and decision-usefulness.

You will drive the following responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and evolve financial models to support recurring reporting, ad hoc analysis, and strategic decision-making
• Drive ad hoc projects related to capital planning, balance sheet analysis, and strategic finance initiatives, including production and synthesis of materials for senior leadership and the CFO
• Explore and implement AI tools and process improvements to increase the efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of the team’s work
• Support and drive the monthly Management and Board reporting process, with emphasis on balance sheet and cash flow reporting, including cross-departmental engagement with key stakeholders
• Support quarterly GAAP processes, including coordination with auditors and accounting partners
• Coordinate with junior team members to organize and progress workflow across recurring and project-based deliverables
• Contribute to the development of Finance Associates through coaching, knowledge sharing, and involvement in onboarding and training
• Participate in department-wide initiatives and cross-functional workstreams as needed

We are looking for candidates with the following minimum qualifications

• 4–7 years of analytical work experience in corporate finance, corporate development, investment banking, or management consulting
• Expertise with financial analysis, modelling, and reporting
• Ability to use AI tools to accelerate financial analysis, reporting, and process improvement
• Strong organizational skills and comfortable dealing with ambiguity
• Previous experience synthesizing financial information and communicating findings to senior managers or leadership
• Strong academics and demonstrated math/analytical ability
• Expertise in Microsoft Excel and proficiency in PowerPoint and Word

Physical Requirements:

Employees are required to work at our Westport CT campus as their principal work location, a minimum of four days per week, with potential for some days in our New York City, NY office.
