What you’ll do

As the Engineering Manager for Cloud Infrastructure, you will lead a highly competent team of senior engineers responsible for the foundational AWS ecosystem that powers Brex. Your primary near-term mission will be driving our high-priority Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BCDR) initiative to completion, a company-level priority that involves multi-region failover and infrastructure-wide resilience. You will balance people leadership with deep technical involvement, earning the respect of a senior team while improving operational hygiene and cross-functional coordination across the entire engineering organization.

• Lead and Grow: Manage and support a senior team of 6 ICs, fostering a culture of high ownership, autonomy, and technical excellence.
• Drive BCDR Strategy: Oversee the execution of the multi-year BCDR initiative, ensuring multi-region infrastructure readiness and automated failover capabilities.
• Technical Stewardship: Maintain and scale Brex’s core cloud infrastructure, including Kubernetes (EKS), RDS/Aurora/Postgres, networking (VPC), and AWS service integrations.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product and engineering teams across Brex to drive adoption of new infrastructure capabilities and ensure successful migrations.

Requirements

• Leadership Experience: 3+ years of experience directly managing software or infrastructure engineering teams.
• Technical Depth: Deep hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure foundations, specifically AWS, Kubernetes, and Postgres.
• Architectural Insight: Proven ability to design and implement complex infrastructure projects such as multi-region deployments or disaster recovery frameworks.
• Collaborative Mindset: Strong communication skills with the ability to influence technical decisions across multiple autonomous teams.
• Analytical Problem Solving: Ability to dive deep into technical issues while maintaining a high-level strategic view of organizational goals.

As a Senior GRC Engineer, you will drive critical GRC processes that mitigate risk, keep us compliant, and build trust with our customers and partners. • Lead the monthly, quarterly and annual preparation of consolidated and entity-only financial statements for internal and external use

Requirements

• CPA license
• 6+ years of public accounting or private industry experience

The expected salary range for this role is $152,000 - $190,000 + equity. What you’ll do

As an Application Security Engineer, you will contribute to finding and responding to security vulnerabilities across the Brex platform. In this role, you will participate in code reviews, design reviews, penetration testing, and vulnerability management. You will contribute to tooling that performs static and dynamic testing of the Brex platform and supports secure developer workflows. Application Security is part of our wider Financial Scale organization, which means you will work closely with Security Operations, GRC, Product Security, Front End Platform, and IT Infrastructure teams.

We're looking for individuals with a solid foundation in penetration testing and a curiosity for finding vulnerabilities in complex systems. You should have experience identifying and documenting vulnerabilities across common vulnerability classes and be able to communicate their risk clearly to engineering and product teams. This role is highly cross-functional — you'll have the opportunity to collaborate with engineering teams across Brex and grow your security expertise in a fast-moving environment.

Brex is pioneering the next wave of AI-driven financial services for dynamic, high-impact companies like Coinbase, Robinhood, and Anthropic. As we integrate AI across our product suite, this role will give you hands-on experience contributing to AI security at Brex. You'll apply emerging AI security best practices to help secure our agentic features, identify attack surfaces introduced by LLM-powered systems, and partner with product and engineering teams to build AI capabilities our customers can trust with their critical financial operations.

Responsibilities

• Identify vulnerabilities across common vulnerability classes (e.g., OWASP Top 10), document findings clearly, and communicate risk to drive remediation efforts
• Participate in penetration testing and design reviews alongside senior engineers, contributing to the identification of vulnerabilities and insecure designs
• Contribute to internal tooling and automation efforts that support SAST and DAST testing of the Brex platform and promote secure development practices
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to support the design of secure product features
• Actively contribute to a culture of security awareness through knowledge sharing and peer learning

Requirements

• 4+ years of work experience in Application Security or a related role
• Demonstrated ability to find and document vulnerabilities in complex systems, with clear communication of business risk
• Hands-on experience with a subset of secure development activities, such as code review, threat modeling, or penetration testing
• Experience identifying security risks in AI/ML systems — such as prompt injection, model manipulation, or data poisoning — through work experience, personal projects, CTFs, or bug bounties
• Familiarity with agentic workflows and the ability to reason about attack surfaces introduced by LLM-powered features
• Knowledge of Python or scripting languages to automate tasks and build tooling
• Collaborative mindset paired with strong written and verbal communication skills

• Experience with Kotlin, gRPC, GraphQL, Kubernetes
• Previous experience as a software engineer
• Experience with securing distributed systems in AWS and cloud environments
• Experience with web application security reviews

Responsibilities

• Help develop and articulate Brex’s total rewards strategy and long-term vision, ensuring alignment with business goals and future scale
• Manage Compensation programs, such as participating in benchmarking and surveys, to calibrate and maintain Brex’s market positioning
• Oversee annual merit cycle to ensure pay parity and competitive compensation across teams and geographies
• Promote the understanding of compensation philosophies, practices and administration across all levels of the organization, including the executive team.
• Lead initiatives that work towards the refining and evolving Brex’s compensation model as it approaches maturity and scale
• Measure and track key compensation and hiring-related leading indicators to help inform, influence, support, and execute business decisions
• Partner with business leaders and People Partners to refine new or evolving roles and their corresponding incentive models
• Work with the Recruiting and Finance teams to keep up with offer competitiveness while maintaining fiscal responsibility
• Produce ad hoc analyses with quick turnarounds based on business and/or Compensation Committee (or Board of Director) needs

Requirements

• 8+ years of work experience in Compensation administration; 
• Exceptional attention to detail, prioritization and time management skills in handling multiple priorities and meet challenging deadlines
• Comfortable with ambiguity
• Strong planning, project management, organizational and communication skills
• Excellent Excel or Google Sheets skills. Pave knowledge a plus.
