Boulevard is the Client Experience Platform purpose-built for appointment-based, self-care businesses. As we move upmarket, support complex franchise brands, and expand internationally, our platform must scale with flexibility, reliability, and intelligence at its core.
The Platform team builds systems that power everything at Boulevard, including identity, payments, permissions, APIs, data, and extensibility. As a Design Manager, Platform, you will lead a team of designers working across these foundational areas. You will set direction, raise the quality bar, and ensure the platform evolves in a cohesive and scalable way.
This is a high-impact role for a design leader who thinks in systems, develops strong talent, and wants to shape how an entire product platform grows over time.
What You’ll Do
- Set the vision and direction for platform design in close partnership with Product and Engineering leaders. Define clear outcomes and ensure work supports long-term company goals.
- Manage and mentor a team of product designers. Provide regular feedback, support career development, and help the team operate with clarity and focus.
- Guide the design of foundational concepts, patterns, and frameworks that enable scalability, flexibility, and extensibility across Boulevard’s ecosystem.
- Help evolve the platform to support:
- Upmarket customers with complex workflows, permissions, and operational needs.
- Multi-location businesses that require centralized control and local flexibility.
- International expansion, including localization, regional requirements, and scalable global patterns.
- Ensure highly complex technical and system-level problems translate into clear, intuitive, and trustworthy user experiences.
- Partner closely with Engineering to ensure design intent is preserved in production and that platform decisions are durable.
- Raise the quality bar across the team by improving critique, design standards, documentation, and collaboration practices.
- Collaborate with other design leaders to evolve Boulevard’s design system so it supports increasing platform complexity and future growth.
- Push the boundaries of what’s possible using AI-powered tooling, including MCPs, Figma Make, Claude, and other emerging systems that amplify speed and quality.
What You’ll Need to Thrive
- Experience managing and developing product designers, including performance feedback, coaching, hiring, and elevating the team’s bar
- Strong design craft across visual, interaction, and UX, with a focus on clarity, utility, delight..
- Strong systems thinking and comfort designing for scale and long-term evolution rather than one-off solutions.
- Deep understanding of the full product lifecycle, from discovery and research through high-fidelity execution and delivery.
- Proven ability to partner closely with Product and Engineering on technically complex initiatives.
- Comfort operating in ambiguity and helping teams find clarity in fast-moving environments.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on guidance when the work requires it.
- A strong point of view paired with openness to feedback and iteration.
- Fluency in Figma, design systems, and emerging tools like Pencil / Cursor.
- Clear, compelling storytelling, able to communicate the strategic why, not just the design.

How We’ll Take Care of You
At Boulevard, we work hard to structure compensation in a way that balances internal equity with local market competitiveness, and we’re happy to share a good-faith estimate of the base salary range for this role. For candidates in NYC, the SF Bay Area, and Seattle, the anticipated base salary range is $163,000 - $203,800 per year. For all other U.S. locations, the anticipated base salary range is $137,500 - $177,263 per year. In addition to this base compensation, this role may be eligible to participate in a variable compensation program. Final compensation will vary based on a variety of factors which include but are not limited to applicable experience, location, and final leveling.

The Commerce & Fintech teams build the tools that drive revenue and financial trust for our customers. Including payments, checkout, memberships, packages, gift cards, banking integrations, payment rails, and financial data products. As a Senior Product Designer, you will own high-impact product areas that directly shape how businesses earn, manage, move, and grow revenue. You will partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Marketing to ship experiences that are clear, reliable, and built to scale. Balancing the demands of financial accuracy, regulatory requirements, and everyday usability.
This is a high-impact role for a designer who thinks in systems, cares deeply about craft, and wants to drive measurable business outcomes.
What You’ll Do
- Translate complex financial and operational requirements into simple, intuitive user experiences. Ensure clarity, accuracy, and trust in every flow.
- Use AI tools such as Claude or ChatGPT in your design workflow to explore edge cases, pressure-test logic, and prototype flows.
- Validate assumptions through lightweight research. Talk directly with customers, run usability tests, and iterate based on evidence.
- Share work openly in critique and reviews. Contribute to a culture that values quality, clarity, and outcomes over artifacts.
- Maintain a high bar for clarity, usability, visual craft, and consistency.
- Contribute to the evolution of Boulevard’s design system by extending components and defining patterns that support the complexity of commerce.
What You’ll Need to Thrive
- Experience designing complex, systems-heavy products, ideally in B2B, fintech, or commerce environments.
- A track record of owning projects from problem definition through launch and measurable impact.
- Comfort using AI tools such as Claude or ChatGPT to accelerate discovery, prototyping, and iteration.

How We’ll Take Care of You
