Trilogy Education is seeking technical professionals who have a passion for making a difference. Our students have a diverse background, from working professionals to fresh-out-of-college people, who seek to transition into careers in Software Engineering, Data Analytics, etc. 

Instructional Staff will have a direct hand in changing the lives of our students. You don't have to have a ton of experience with teaching! You just have to be a lifelong learner, or love to help people change their lives to succeed.

Our Blended Online program is a mixture of asynchronous and live instruction. Students in the Blended Online program access modules through Canvas, and unlock these modules as they progress through the class. Roughly 80% of the content each week is completed by the students asynchronously. This program is ideal for individuals who cannot commit to the traditional 14-hour a week time commitment of our in-person/Live Online modalities.

Teaching Assistants

What You Will Do:

• Support the Instructor during lectures and educational program specific activities
• Answer students’ questions during class sessions

• Assist the Instructor with distributing class materials
• Ensure that homework is graded on-time, and occasionally assist with grading
• Lead weekly office hours on one weekend day for 2 hours

Logistics:

• First session of the week: 7:00pm - 9:00pm (local time to the university partner)
• Second session of the week: 6:30pm - 9:30pm (local time to the university partner, includes office hours and lunch break)
• Third session of the week: Teaching Assistant lead office hours for 2 hours on one weekend day (Teaching Assistants ONLY)

 Principle Responsibilities:

Principal Instructor’s are critical to our boot camp's success. A few of highlights of the instructor’s day to day are: coaching, developing, and collaborating with instructors, curriculum, to share expertise and recommendations for improvements. Creates a world-class experience through brand ownership from end to end through every personal interaction.

Skills & Requirements

• 5+ years experience in industry (or equivalent experience) (including bootcamp tenure)
• NPS 90+
• Average Relevant KPIs 4+
• Taught at least 2 cohorts as an Instructor for one of our bootcamps
• Strong promoter of boot camps and 2U

What You Will Do:

• Instructional Coaching and Support. The main focus of this role will be in supporting new and improving instructors who could use additional support in their classroom practice.

• Use Learning & Development resources, including The Teaching Rubric, to support excellent instruction
• Share personal experiences of learning and growth as an instructor
• Collaborate with other instructional support team members (RAMs and SSMs) to streamline and target improvement efforts

• Curriculum Consulting & Partnership.The Principal Instructor, as a proven instructional and subject matter expert, will play a key role in surfacing the critical opportunities for curriculum advancement directly to and with the curriculum team.
• Provide feedback to the curriculum team in a constructive and collaborative way
• Review proposals from curriculum team for future edits and iterations

• Representing Boot Camps Programs - Internal. As Brand Ambassadors, Principal Instructors will be clear and active promoters of the boot camps within the instructional staff community and beyond. Brand ambassador action steps might include:
• Attend program Demo Days
• Facilitating admissions events, instructor learning opportunities, or instructional recognition events. 

Logistics:

• 10 maximum hours per month (2-3 hours per week)
• Fully remote
• The principal instructor role is selected at the beginning of each term. Terms often last roughly a calendar year but are subject to change at any time.

Instructor Role

Skills & Requirements

• At least 4-5 years of SUBJECT MATTER experience (or equivalent)
• Bachelor's Degree
• Background in technologies associated with selected program
• A positive attitude
• Ability to deliver lesson plans provided by 2U
• Share your own professional experiences and industry insight with the students

What You Will Do:

• Lead online lectures following a detailed lesson plan that includes an active discussion environment and project-based learning
• Bring the learning experience to life by building community and enhancing relevance by drawing on your own industry experience
• Translate complex subject matter in a clear and concise manner for a diverse range of learners or skill levels
• Provide support and encouragement to students as they go through a life-changing experience
• Create an engaging, positive, and inclusive learning environment for our students
• Increase participant engagement using different facilitation tactics
• Guide large and small groups of learners in an empathetic manner
• Amplify student satisfaction by creating a positive classroom culture
• Communicating timely with students and leveraging effective interventions by sharing resources

Teaching Assistant Role

Skills & Requirements

• At least 6 months of experience( Bootcamp attendance/graduation counts toward this requirement)
• Bachelor's Degree preferred, but not required
• Some familiarity with most or all of the technologies associated with selected program

What You Will Do:

• Create an engaging, positive, and inclusive learning environment for our students
• Explain complex topics to individuals with both a technical and non-technical background
• Ensure you are bringing the learning experience to life, building community and enhancing relevance through drawing on your own industry experience
• Infuse empathy, support, encouragement, and fun into the students' learning progression
• Assist the instructor with class time management 
• Observe the class during code activities and projects to assist students (via Zoom)
• Research and answer student questions 
• Grade homework and group project assignments when applicable 

Logistics:

• 24-week program (this is a part-time commitment)
• Mon/Wed/Thu OR Mon/Tue/Thu schedule
• Weekday Classes: 5:45 - 10pm (includes office hours and break) *Some Universities have unique hours*
• Must have a laptop, camera, at least one additional monitor, microphone / headset,  and reliable internet access.
• Experience with Zoom video conferencing preferred.
