The team

The role

The Financial Crime Operational Associate plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day activities that keep the business safe, compliant, and running effectively. The primary focus of the role is to carry out customer due diligence, support transaction monitoring, and review alerts to ensure that potential risks are identified, assessed, and managed appropriately.

This role is important in maintaining consistency, accuracy, and efficiency across processes. By handling tasks such as due diligence, screening, and oversight activities, the associate helps ensure that risks are identified early and that the team meets its regulatory obligations. In addition, supporting complaint handling helps ensure customers are treated fairly and that issues are resolved in a clear and timely manner.

Overall, the role contributes to the company’s ability to remain compliant, protect its customers, and maintain trust. Through strong organisation, attention to detail, and a proactive approach, the Financial Crime Operational Associate supports the business in operating securely while enabling sustainable growth.

What you’ll be doing

Financial Crime

• Assist with customer due diligence (CDD) and periodic reviews
• Support transaction monitoring and alert handling processes
• Conduct sanctions, PEP, and adverse media screening

Oversight

• Support monitoring activities to assess adherence to policies and regulatory obligations

Occasional Complaints Management

• Assist in logging, tracking, and investigating customer complaints

The Role

What you’ll be doing

• Preparation of monthly consolidated management accounts and supporting analysis
• Ownership of group balance sheet reconciliations, including intercompany balances
• Assist in the preparation of the consolidated management accounts and reporting for the Board and external investors;
• Management of the SAP system to meet the developing needs of the business, maintaining the chart of accounts and other masterdata and managing internal controls;
• Work closely with the People team to further develop overseas payroll processes;
• Assist with company’s auditors during the interim and yearend review to confirm the transactions and balances reported in the financial statements;
• Support the Financial Reporting team in the processing of accounts payable, bank payments and reconciliations;
• Contribute to ad hoc projects including fundraising, forecasting and business development.

The Team

We are the Decision Analytics team sit with a goal to drive intelligent decision-making by applying advanced statistical analytics to a wealth of data. At the heart of the Risk function, our focus is to deliver high-quality instant decisions for our customers around the world.

Risk team is a globally team with offices in London, Nottingham and Atlanta US, covers Decision Analytics, Portfolio Management, Underwriting and Collections. We're on a mission to grow Liberis into the world's leading embedded business finance provider, and we're looking for a Decision Analytics Manager to help us make that happen!

The Role

You will own and evolve the automated credit decision policy across partners and products. You will be responsible for driving high auto-decision rates while maintaining competitive approval rates and robust risk performance. The role combines hands-on analytics with strategic ownership of acquisition decision strategies, monitoring frameworks, and model governance. This position is primarily a hands-on analytical role (70% individual contributor) while also mentoring and supporting junior team members (30% management).

What you’ll be doing

• Lead the development and optimisation of global decisioning strategies
• Own the automated decision policy framework and continuously enhance strategies to improve auto-decision rates and maintain competitive offerings.
• Work closely with the AI-ML team, playing a governance role in new model development, model approval and ongoing model monitoring
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of credit risk models
• Develop, own and enhance acquisition monitoring and performance reporting to track decision quality and risk performance
• Explore new and current data sources to optimise decisioning policy
• Mentor and support junior members within the team
• Collaborate with key risk stakeholders to maintain an acceptable risk level in a fast-evolving environment
• Represent Risk to the wider business, collaborating with Product and Commercial teams to unlock business value

What we think you’ll need

• 5+ years of experience in a relevant analytical, credit risk or decision science role
• 2+ years of experience working as a Decision Scientist or Data Scientist.
• A strong analytical mindset with a passion for turning complex data into insights
• The ability to communicate your findings clearly and effectively

The role

The Financial Crime Associate plays a key role in protecting the business from financial crime risks, including money laundering, fraud, and sanctions breaches. The role’s primary purpose is to review and assess alerts, conduct customer due diligence, and support investigations to ensure suspicious activity is identified, evaluated, and escalated appropriately.

This role contributes to the team’s success by maintaining high-quality case handling, ensuring investigations are accurate and timely, and supporting compliance with regulatory requirements. By working closely with internal teams and following established frameworks, the associate helps ensure a consistent and effective approach to risk management.

More broadly, the role supports the company’s overall objectives by safeguarding its financial systems, maintaining regulatory compliance, and protecting its reputation. Through strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proactive engagement, the Financial Crime Associate helps enable sustainable growth in a secure and compliant environment.

What you’ll be doing

• Conduct initial reviews of alerts generated from transaction monitoring systems
• Perform customer due diligence (CDD) and support enhanced due diligence (EDD) where required
• Assist with screening customers and transactions against sanctions, PEP, and adverse media lists
• Support the investigation of fraud cases, including analysing account activity, verifying customer information, and liaising with internal teams or external parties where required
• Escalate suspicious activity to senior analysts with clear and structured rationale
• Maintain accurate and complete case records in line with audit and regulatory expectations
• Assist with periodic reviews of existing customers to ensure ongoing compliance
• Follow internal policies, how to guides, and risk frameworks consistently

What we think you’ll need

• Basic understanding of financial crime risks (AML, fraud, sanctions)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Ability to assess information critically and make risk-based decisions
• Good written and verbal communication skills, with ability to clearly articulate findings and rationales
• Organised, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
• Ability to investigate and interpret transactional and customer data to identify suspicious patterns
• High level of integrity and professionalism
• Willingness to learn and develop in financial crime compliance
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
• Team player with a collaborative approach to working with different departments
• Proactive mindset with the ability to take initiative and identify areas for improvement
