The Operations Specialist will work on-site for BitGo Trust Company in Sioux Falls, SD. This role will be part of a team working shifts that will provide operational coverage through the night/early morning for BitGo Trust Company. This individual will be responsible for performing high volume, complex, confidential trust operational activities, in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Weekend Shift: 5PM-5AM Thur-Sat ; Wednesday Morning 5AM-8AM

Responsibilities:

• Provide operational support for customer support for banking transactions
• Opening and closing accounts on the trust accounting system
• Daily processing of transactions and data input
• Perform system testing and enhancements
• Responsible for administration and operational support of all accounts under administration
• Provide timely and accurate responses to both internal & external requests for information
• Serve as a proactive problem-solver by being able to troubleshoot account questions/issues in support of Trust Operations
• Exemplify a willingness to take on other responsibilities as needed by our Trust Management Team

Requirements:

• 1-2+ years of operations experience preferred OR a Bachelor's Degree/Advanced Degree with an interest in working within Financial Services/Cryptocurrency

BitGo Trust Officers are responsible for a blend of client onboarding, KYC/AML review, and trust account administration. This role plays a critical part in ensuring our clients are onboarded efficiently and in compliance with regulatory standards, while also maintaining oversight of accounts throughout the customer lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee the full lifecycle of trust accounts under administration, from onboarding through termination.
• Perform client onboarding reviews (KYC), including identity/document verification, adverse media and sanctions screening, and risk-based assessments.
• Serve as a key contributor in the account acceptance process, ensuring all new clients meet internal and regulatory standards prior to opening.
• Collaborate with Compliance, Legal, and Risk teams to ensure adherence to AML, BSA, and trust company policies during onboarding and account maintenance.
• Maintain strong client relationships by providing responsive service, answering questions, and proactively addressing client needs throughout the customer journey.
• Participate in trust distributions, review of trust documents, and implementation of account-specific instructions (discretionary and directed).
• Perform annual and periodic trust account reviews to ensure compliance, documentation accuracy, and service consistency.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable laws, trust regulations, and BitGo products and services.

Skills and Experience:

• 4+ years of client-facing experience, with 1+ years in trust administration, wealth management, or financial services.

Responsibilities:

Trust Operations Leadership:

• Oversee all trust administration operations, ensuring efficient, accurate, and compliant delivery of custody and fiduciary services
• Lead and develop a team of trust officers, establishing performance standards, professional development programs, and succession planning
• Design and implement operational workflows, policies, and procedures that scale with business growth while maintaining regulatory compliance
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators for trust operations, driving continuous improvement in service delivery
• Collaborate with technology, legal, and compliance teams to enhance operational capabilities and client experience

Fiduciary Officer Responsibilities:

• Serve as a designated fiduciary officer in accordance with OCC requirements and trust company charter
• Exercise fiduciary authority and responsibility for client accounts, ensuring adherence to trust agreements and applicable laws
• Review and approve account openings, transactions, and material decisions requiring fiduciary discretion

• Oversee internal controls, audit responses, and remediation efforts related to trust administration
• Identify, assess, and mitigate operational and fiduciary risks within the trust function
• Maintain comprehensive documentation and record keeping in accordance with regulatory requirements

Strategic Leadership:

• Contribute to the development and execution of strategic initiatives for the trust company
• Partner with business development teams to support client onboarding and service expansion
• Represent the trust company in client meetings, audits, regulatory examinations, and industry forums
• Stay informed of digital asset industry developments, custody innovations, and evolving regulatory landscape
• Build relationships with regulators, industry peers, and professional organizations

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Law, or related field; advanced degree or professional certifications (CTFA, CFP, JD) strongly preferred
• Minimum 7 years of experience in trust administration, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity
• Proven experience serving as a fiduciary officer in a regulated trust company, bank trust department, or similar institution
• Deep knowledge of trust law, fiduciary principles, and regulatory requirements (OCC, state trust regulations)
• Demonstrated success building and leading high-performing teams in a regulated environment
• Strong understanding of custody operations, asset servicing, and client relationship management
• Excellent judgment, integrity, and commitment to fiduciary standards
