About You
You are a technically capable engineer with a background in mechanical or electrical engineering and a clear interest in developing a career within the energy and utilities sector. You bring strong analytical capability, sound engineering judgement, and a delivery‑focused mindset, with the ability to work effectively across multiple projects and disciplines within a regulated environment.

BakerHicks is seeking a Planner to support the delivery of projects within the utilities and power sector, including HV power, transmission, and distribution environments. We are now looking for an experienced Senior or Principal OHL Design Engineer to join our expanding team.
In this role, you will report to the Associate OHL Engineer and take responsibility for all design elements associated with new build and refurbishment of overhead transmission lines across the UK.
The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in producing designs, calculations, reports and drawings for OHL projects ranging from 11kV to 400kV, using PLS-CADD and PLS-Tower, and be familiar with UK Transmission Owner specifications.
