HR Adviseur (Parttime) - Flagship Plant Avantium, Delfzijl

Wij zijn op zoek naar een ervaren HR-adviseur om een belangrijke bijdrage te leveren binnen onze dynamische productieorganisatie. Deze parttime positie bij de Flagship Plant van Avantium in Delfzijl biedt de gelegenheid een verantwoordelijke rol te vervullen.

Functieomschrijving:

Als HR Adviseur bij Avantium ben jij het aanspreekpunt voor medewerkers en managers op locatie. Op de Flagship Plant in Delfzijl werken 65 collega’s en de fabriek is 24/7 in bedrijf. De organisatie is pas enkele jaren geleden gestart en biedt daarom unieke uitdagingen. Je werkt parttime (24 uur per week). De taken waarvoor je verantwoordelijk bent, zijn o.a.:

• Acteren als primair aanspreekpunt en het bieden van ondersteuning voor HR-gerelateerde kwesties
• Adviseren bij (complexe) HR-vraagstukken, waaronder personele casuïstiek, verzuimbeleid en conflictmanagement
• Coördinatie van recruitment: het werven en selecteren van medewerkers en het beheer van het flexibele personeelsbestand
• Bevorderen van medewerkersbetrokkenheid en versterken van de organisatiecultuur
• Ondersteunen bij de persoonlijke ontwikkeling van het personeel, o.a. in de PDR-cyclus
• Ondersteunen bij organisatieontwikkeling en verdere professionalisering naar een operations organisatie
• Zorgen dat alle medewerkers getraind zijn: het organiseren en registreren van opleidingen
• Toezien op correcte toepassing van wet- en regelgeving, zoals Seveso, sociale wetgeving, bedrijfsprocedures en Wet Verbetering Poortwachter en ISO-normen (9001, 14001 en 45001)
• Ondersteunen bij de uitvoering van HR-strategieën en doelstellingen

Positie binnen Avantium:
Je maakt deel uit van het HR-team in Amsterdam en rapporteert aan de HR Director. Elke twee maanden kom je naar Amsterdam om contact te houden met het team. Je werkt samen met de HR Business Partner van Renewable Polymers vanuit Amsterdam en bent lid van het Leadership Team van de Flagship Plant, met een functionele lijn naar de Plant Manager.

Wat wij zoeken:
Afgeronde hbo in HRM, Bedrijfskunde of vergelijkbaar

Omdat je een relevant netwerk in de regio hebt, ben je goed op de hoogte van ontwikkelingen binnen de sector en herken je kansen voor zowel de organisatie als de ontwikkeling van medewerkers. Dankzij dit netwerk kun je snel inspelen op veranderingen en nieuwe initiatieven signaleren, wat essentieel is voor een startende fabriek zoals de Flagship Plant.

• Minimaal vijf jaar relevante HR-ervaring bij voorkeur binnen een chemische plant (Seveso)
• Sterke vaardigheden Nederlands én Engels (Delfzijl: NL, Amsterdam: EN)
• Verbinder tussen de Flagship plant en hoofdkantoor in Amsterdam

The role

Avantium is looking for a Technologist Analytics to support the development of PEF and FDCA.

The Technologists analytic provide the analytical solution for process, product and application development within Renewable Polymers (RNP) business unit. In the Technology team there is an open position for a Technologist AnalyticsThe Technologists analytic are currently part of the Technology team with a specific expertise on a  broad range of analytics, from standard methods to sophisticated techniques. They works closely together with project teams, and the monomer and polymer & application development teams. They also work closely with their counterparts in the Flagship Plant (in Delfzijl) and the Pilot Plant (in Geleen).

How can you contribute?

The Technologist Analytics position within Renewable Polymers Business Unit (RNP) will contribute to process and product development projects by executing sample preparations and performing analyses based on various analytical techniques with a focus towards Polymer characterization and quality assessment. The Technologist Analytics will report into the Teamleader Technology  of RNP.

We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague who will take the following responsibilities:

• Leading the efforts on polymer analytics (GPC, CEG, IV, DSC, TGA, Rheometry,  Karl Fischer Coulometric, UV-VIS, NMR & titrations), including data processing, validation, development of new procedures and improvement of existing, safety assessments, documentation and reporting of analytical results.
• Subject matter expert on GPC measurements. Take care of system/measurements, proposals for improvement and trouble shooting.
• Preferably has experience in polymer characterization and quality control methodologies.
• Experience on data/analytics from chromatographic analysis like (U)HPLC and GC is a nice to have.
• Support Monomer and P&AD projects by sample preparations and dilutions.
• Hands-on troubleshooting and maintenance on equipment.
• Likes to work in the lab and flexible towards activities outside the primary responsibilities by assisting lab activities of other teams.
• Communicate proactively with your colleagues, project and team leaders, including planning, managing timelines and reporting.

What will you bring?

To be successful in our team you:

• Actively contribute to the safety in our laboratory, adhere to our Health & Safety regulations.
• Bring a HLO or master degree in Analytical Chemistry with (few) years of experience.
• Experience on performing polymer analytics, GPC, IV, NMR.
• Have hands-on experience in analytical lab work activities like sample preparations, titrations, KF, UV analysis and data processing of chromatographic analysis.
• Are able to work independently as well as in a team.
• Are a team player, results oriented, flexible and pragmatic self-starter.
• Bring good communication and reporting skills in English.

How can you contribute?

Avantium’s Renewable Polymers division is looking for an experienced License Sales Manager to lead licensing activities and coordinate local value chains for our renewable process technologies. As part of the License Team, reporting to the License Director, you will drive commercialization of our YXY® Technology, which converts plant-based feedstock into FDCA – the key building block of PEF, a 100% renewable and recyclable polyester with superior performance for packaging and textiles.

Avantium will launch its Flagship Plant in 2026 (5 kta FDCA/PEF) to demonstrate technology and market at commercial scale. Our business model focuses on selling YXY licenses for large-scale plants worldwide (>100 kta). For this, we work with leading companies across industries (feedstock, chemical companies as well as brands and retailers in a.o. food & beverage, cosmetics and apparel).

As License Sales Manager, you will lead a region (e.g., North America, Europe, Asia) and collaborate with partners in feedstock, operations, and financing. Internal alignment with  Engineering, Business Development, Finance, Legal, and IP is key. Based in Amsterdam, this role offers the chance to shape sustainable chemistry and develop professionally as part of an innovative team.

What will you be responsible for?

Develop Licensing Initiatives:

• Develop local license opportunities aligned with Avantium's business objectives.
• Identify potential licensing partners, convince them of their role in (or with) the license venture and negotiate agreements towards a license agreement.
• Support the licensee project organization from PDP delivery, through FEED, FID and EPC to Plant Acceptance.
• Evaluate market trends and competitive landscape to inform licensing strategy.

Relationship Management:

• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with potential and existing licensing partners.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for local licensing inquiries and negotiations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and act as a conduit for licensee input to Engineering and Technology & Innovation teams for continuous improvement and next-generation YXY Technologies

Intellectual Property Management:

• Work with legal and intellectual property teams to protect and enforce Avantium's IP
• Oversee the local portfolio of license related agreements (such as NDA, MoU, LOI, Term Sheets and License Agreements) and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.

Market Expansion and Business Development:

• Identify new market opportunities for Avantium's technologies and support strategies to expand the company's licensing service portfolio and proposition.
• Represent Avantium at industry conferences, trade shows, and other events to promote licensing opportunities and build partnerships.

What will you bring?

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Business Administration, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 5 to 8 years of experience in chemical technology licensing is a must, preferably for novel technologies.
• Proven track record of successfully negotiating technology licensing agreements and driving revenue growth.
• Compelling team player across cultures, functions and seniorities, with experience in initiating and developing multi-stakeholder teams.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain global relationships with stakeholders in different disciplines.
• Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
• Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
