• You should be comfortable working with .NET Core (.NET 5+ or C# 9+)
• Experience with RESTful APIs and web services know how
• Experience designing service orientated applications
• Knowledge of relational databases (SQL)
• Experience with RabbitMQ or other event-driven architectures.
• Building high-throughput applications, with considered application of caching (we use Redis).
• Knowledge of structured logging, including tooling such as Kibana, Elastic Search Application monitoring / alerting
• A structured approach to development and testing with a focus on continuous delivery and automation.
• Proven experience leading and mentoring others, helping them grow.

Benefits

We’re offering a salary of £50,000 – £70,000, plus an additional 10% of your salary awarded to you in shares each year. These awarded shares will become yours in yearly instalments over the next three years, and you can choose to either sell them or keep them as shares. And you'll receive 28 days holiday, plus bank holidays and comprehensive private medical cover.

About the role

What we’re looking for

• Testing experience in both manual and automation techniques
• Well versed with cross browser and cross platform testing techniques
• A good working knowledge of software development
• Proficiency in UI automation tools such as Cypress, Playwright and Jest
• Understanding of Continuous Delivery/Deployment processes and how test automation fits into this
• Experience collaborating with Developers to shape the test pyramid
• A genuine enthusiasm for working within cross-functional teams
• Agile experience and a clear understanding of how test engineering fits into the methodology

About the role

We're looking for Principal Software Engineers to help us build a technology platform for more than just the needs of Autotrader.co.uk.

Utilising our public-facing web services and additional external data sources means that we'll be able to power businesses across the automotive industry.

Spring Boot, Apache Solr, Cloud SQL and Apache Kafka power our platform and process millions of events per day. As a team, our software developers are responsible for ensuring service availability and responsiveness continue to improve. They work on systems that handle thousands of requests per second, with sub-100 millisecond response times, servicing requests from over 50 client applications.

Our tech community value collaboration and teamwork. Interactions such as pairing, code reviews and regular stand-ups mean our software developers stay connected. Our principal engineers play a visible and vital role, are comfortable talking about system design and architecture, and know how to get the best out of our teams and our technology platforms.

About the job

We’re looking for Principal Full Stack Engineers to join us! Our technology teams combine a diverse set of technologies to meet the needs of our users, handling millions of requests a day across over 600 systems. We build these systems with industry standard frameworks and tools, such as React and Angular on the front end and Java, Spring Boot, Cloud SQL and Apache Kafka on the back end. All of this runs on our cutting edge cloud delivery platform, facilitating over 60k releases to production a year.

About the job

We’re looking for a Technical Lead to join us and lead our engineering efforts with creativity, vision, and expertise. You will lead colleagues, producing innovative, maintainable solutions to problems whilst demonstrating a solid grasp of good system design and architecture. You will manage other engineers, supporting their continuous improvement. You will collaborate with other leads, helping define and deliver a longer-term technical vision.

While we appreciate that your experience may be more weighted toward either people management or coding, we're open to hearing from you as long as you're open to do both.
