As a Senior Engineer II, Field Process, you play a critical role in enabling our customers’ success at the most advanced semiconductor technology nodes. Based in Higashi Hiroshima, you will work hands‑on at customer sites, leading complex process qualifications, resolving high‑impact tool and process issues, and partnering closely with customers and internal teams across the globe. Your expertise directly contributes to ASM’s reputation for technical excellence, reliability, and long‑term customer partnerships.

What you will be working on

• Plan, execute, oversee, and document process qualifications for new installations, conversions, and continuous improvement retrofits for PE‑CVD, PE‑ALD, ALD, CVD, and epitaxy reactors at customer sites
• Lead structured problem‑solving activities to identify root causes, develop robust solutions, and support rapid closure of tool excursion escalations during install and sustaining phases
• Act as a senior technical interface for customers, understanding current needs, identifying new opportunities, and anticipating future process requirements to build long‑term, trusted partnerships
• Develop, maintain, and standardize process recipes, experimental data, and technical documentation for use by internal teams and external stakeholders
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on customer experience, tool performance, productivity, cost reduction, and process robustness
• Provide hands‑on field engineering support when required, including assembly, disassembly, calibration, decommissioning, and troubleshooting of advanced electro‑mechanical semiconductor capital equipment
• Collaborate closely with global hardware, process, R&D, and service teams to align field feedback with product and process improvements

What we are looking for

• Valid work authorization to work in Japan
• Master’s degree or higher in a materials‑focused STEM discipline such as materials science or engineering, physics, chemistry, electronic engineering, or nanotechnology
• Or a Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with relevant professional experience in semiconductor processing or capital equipment
• Strong experience or solid technical foundation in one or more of the following: PE‑CVD, PE‑ALD, ALD, CVD, epitaxy, etch, PVD, surface preparation, photolithography, high‑temperature processing, or materials characterization
• Applied experience using data or signal processing tools such as Python, R, MATLAB, JMP, Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent
• Commitment to strong safety and quality cultures, both internally and at customer sites
• Good mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work effectively in cleanroom and office environments for extended periods, both on‑site and remotely
• Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work across organizations, cultures, and disciplines while managing multiple priorities

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented CKM and EHS Specialist to join our team at the Hiroshima site.

This role combines responsibilities in Complete Kit Management (CKM) and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) with administrative support functions.

Location: Hiroshima, Japan　

CKM Responsibilities

• Work with Project/Program Manager, Sales Director, Spare Team. Drive and forecast CKM, Spares and Part in supporting Micron F15.
• Provide support and coordinate CKM PM Operations.
• Forecast and plan CKM Tool schedules and Revenue Projections.
• Forecast Spare Parts and Coordinate with Logistics to expedite Orders from Customers.
• Work with Project/Program Manager, Sales Director, Spare Team and Finance on CKM Billings.
• Work with Service Manager, Field Service/Process Engineers on Service Orders Quotations and Service Billings.
• Work with Service Manager, Field Service/Process Engineers on SAP Purchase Requisitions and Procurements.
• Competent in SAP, Search, Retrieve Part Number and Order. Retrieve Procedures, Draft RMA / FA and work with Customer on Service Report.
• Perform Failure Analysis on Defective Spare Parts.
• POC to support and coordinate between cross functional teams for SAP HANA related matters.

EHS Responsibilities

• Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of EHS policies and procedures in alignment with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
• Support compliance with local EHS regulations and company standards.
• Conduct basic risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify potential safety and environmental risks.
• Participate in incident investigations and support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Coordinate and deliver EHS training sessions to employees and contractors.
• Host monthly Safety Meeting to update Good catch and Incident situations in ASM/Micron and share them among Hiroshima team.
• Support EHS audits and inspections and assist in addressing non-conformances.
• Help maintain emergency response plans and participate in emergency drills.
• Monitor contractor activities to ensure compliance with EHS standards.
• Contribute to environmental management initiatives including waste management and pollution control.
• Assist in the implementation of continuous improvement projects related to EHS.

Administrative Responsibilities

• Manage general office administration tasks including scheduling, correspondence, and documentation.
• Maintain office supplies and liaise with vendors for procurement.
• Ensure proper filing and record-keeping of EHS and administrative documents.
• Serve as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders at the Hiroshima site.

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in EHS, order management or administrative roles, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Experience of using SAP application.

Software Support Engineer

Responsibilities

• Support SW Design Engineers in development, testing, deployment, maintenance and improve software for our semiconductor manufacturing equipment
• Able to triage mechanical, electrical and software bugs
• Responsible to manage escalation calls with field support engineers and customers at local level
• Work with QA / Support team to add replicated bugs to regression
• Work with customer to write correct specs for features and help with fixing bugs and develop small features if possible
• Author, revise, and review system specifications, software designs, test plans, and other software documentation.
• Investigate & troubleshoot both internal and external inquiries, questions and problem reports. Offer problem analysis, solutions, or alternatives as a result of these investigations.
• Participate in system design teams.
• Be the eyes and ears of the customer, align on priorities
• Work with customer to upgrade tools to the latest SW version and help with the qualification

Minimum Qualifications

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Some software development skills in one or more general purpose programming languages: C++, C#
• Being able to read code and step through a debugger/IDE
• Business level English and Japanese
