Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a subject matter expert for financial institution regulatory compliance regulations with an understanding of compliance operations.
• Build new and existing client relationships and participate in networking and business development activities.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Oversee the work of others on projects assigned and provide training.
• Work closely with team members to follow-up on client requests and inquiries.
• Assist in the preparation of Statements of Work for client projectsand monitor time allocated to projects to ensure projects stay on time and within budget.
• Plan, perform, and execute compliance reviews and audit engagements.
  • Identify business process risks and develop testing methodologies to evaluate the adequacy of controls.
  • Execute test of controls and audit procedures defined in audit programs.
  • Research technical issues that arise during fieldwork.
  • Document observations and recommendations regarding violations of laws and regulations, or best practices.
  • Draft reports for review, presentation, and discussion with clients.

Required Qualifications

• Research proficiency driven by the principle of life-long learning.
• Analytical, detail oriented - ability to multi-task without sacrificing people skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, exhibiting empathy for others with positive conflict resolution skills.
• Good at meeting deadlines and solving problems.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree with a major in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
• 5-10 years combination of audit and/or compliance experience within the financial industry.

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations

• Possess and maintain one or more relevant certifications pertaining to audit, risk management and compliance (such as CIA, CCUIA, CRCM, or CFE).

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of IIA guidelines and audit methodologies and techniques.
• Knowledge of financial institution industry regulations, systems, operations, and internal controls

The annual base salary range for this role is $80,000-$105,000. This range includes the anticipated low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual compensation may vary based on various factors, including experience, education and/or skill level.

The Role

We are seeking a Senior Audit Manager to join our team. In this position, you will be responsible for managing client relationships; supervising, reviewing, and providing on-the-job training for staff; performing all tasks of the assurance engagements when needed. • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed, including special projects.

• Communicates effectively and serves as liaison among with Managers, clients, and staff.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of financial statement audit experience at a public accounting firm.
• BA/BS degree in accounting or business from an accredited university.
• Experience working with privately held clients.
• Must be able to travel to client locations.
• Strategic thinker with strong organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in accounting.
• Licensed and currently active CPA or working towards CPA designation.
• Industry experience in manufacturing, real estate, construction, not-for-profit preferred.
• Experience using Caseware.

• Prepare and review financial statements for a variety of nonprofit and other clients in accordance with GAAP and applicable standards
• Supervise and mentor associate staff and interns on engagements, reviewing their work for accuracy and completeness
• Perform general audit procedures including coordinating audit closing communications, drafting client correspondence, and resolving open items
• Apply knowledge of nonprofit-specific accounting and auditing standards relevant to the client's organizational structure and funding sources
• Research technical accounting and auditing issues using firm-approved online tools and authoritative literature
• Assist senior team members in managing client engagements from planning through completion while managing budgets and timelines

 Desired Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting
• CPA license or active pursuit of CPA licensure strongly preferred
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a public accounting firm
• Demonstrated nonprofit audit experience across a variety of nonprofit entity types
• Experience with nonprofit accounting and ERP software (e.g., Sage Intacct, Blackbaud, or QuickBooks Nonprofit) a plus
• Proficiency in audit engagement software (e.g., CaseWare, CCH Engagement, or ProSystem fx) preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate complex accounting matters clearly
• Ability to supervise, review, and provide constructive feedback to junior staff

The Role

The Audit Senior will play a critical role in engagement teams performing attestation engagements for clients in a wide variety of industries and of all sizes. Depending on the size and complexity of the engagement, Audit Seniors may lead the engagement team or function in a team led by an Audit Supervisor or Manager. Our attestation and assurance services strive to go beyond just a compliance function. We believe in strong client relationships and serve as a business advisor throughout the year. In this role, you must be comfortable working independently and collaborating on a team. The Audit Senior must be ready to be client facing at any time.
