Our area of expertise involves Applied Mathematics & Statistics for Machine Learning and Deep Learning, with a recently strong focus on Generative AI. 

Responsibilities : In addition to the core Data Science and ML Engineering Team, you will work with different stakeholders to:

• Qualify the feasibility of Use Cases, translating business challenges into technical formulations
• Define the business and statistical hypothesis, and build the solution followed by testing and validation
• For those Use Cases that are validated, you will help develop a production-ready solution.

When consulted on a business challenge, you propose adequate AI or machine learning options to address this need. You act as an expert on the best algorithm to choose given the specific context and constraints. You are a key contributor to the design of the solution. You develop data visualisation features to generate insights and support data storytelling. You iterate with the business in an agile way to develop, adapt and refine the solution to enable maximum business impact. You design, build, maintain, and troubleshoot the data models integrated into the solutions delivered : 

• Assess the quality of the data; clean and aggregate when necessary
• Compare and choose the right algorithms based on defining the right statistical hypothesis
• Develop and train models
• Follow principles of MLOps when moving models to productions
• Troubleshoot the models in production

Profile Minimum requirements : 

• Must have at least 3 years of prior Data Science experience
• VERY Proficient in Python
• Has a Master's degree in Applied Mathematics, Advanced Statistics, and Data Science or a related discipline
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong knowledge of data science algorithms and at least one proven experience in developing Statistical and ML algorithms
• Ideally Fluent in English

Preferred requirements : 

• Preferred experience in Consulting;
• Preferred experience in Cloud Technologies;
• Good knowledge of Spark;

Ton rôle en notre sein :

• Diplôme Bac+5 en Data Science, Mathématiques appliquées, Statistiques ou Informatique.
• Minimum 3 à 5 ans d'expérience en Data Science, dont au moins 1 à 2 ans dans un rôle de lead technique ou de coordination de projet.
• Maîtrise de Python et des librairies clés : scikit-learn, pandas, NumPy, XGBoost, LightGBM, TensorFlow/PyTorch.
• Expérience en industrialisation de modèles : MLflow, Docker, Git, pipelines CI/CD.
• Solides bases en statistiques : tests d'hypothèses, inférence bayésienne, modélisation des séries temporelles.
• SQL avancé et connaissance des entrepôts de données (BigQuery, Snowflake…).

• Advanced Modelling: Proven ability to implement a range of complex models such as time-series forecasting, gradient boosting, clustering, NLP, and Bayesian inference.
• ML-Ops & Orchestration: Strong experience with MLOps tools for orchestration, experiment tracking, hyper-parameter tuning, and deploying automated model retraining pipelines.
• Programming & Data Engineering: Proficiency in object-oriented Python, advanced dataframes (Polars/Pyspark), and data versioning (DVC). Experience designing data storage solutions and using object-oriented SQL interfaces.
• Cloud & DevOps: Hands-on experience with at least two major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP), including app deployment, database services (e.g., RDS, CosmosDB), and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform). Solid understanding of CI/CD for testing and containerisation.

What you will be doing: 

As a Manager Data Scientist, your role will encompass:

• Leading and conducting ambitious projects in the transformation of clients through data
• Developing data science products and solutions for clients as well as for our data science team
• Working closely with your Consulting counterpart to build and maintain strong relationships with your clients and best understand their needs
• Having a contributor role in upskilling our data science team and promoting our work within the other data departments
• Caring for the happiness of the team, ensuring that missions are delivered to a high standard and providing feedback and mentoring to less experienced Data Scientists
• Writing highly optimised code to advance Artefact’s internal tool box and knowledge

What you will learn with us : 

• Deliver impactful and successful projects on real-world problems across a variety of industries by delivering end-to-end machine learning pipelines
• Build complex solutions in feature teams with the help of your other data scientists but also ML Engineers, Data Engineers, Software Engineers and Product Owners
• Improve your software engineering skills by applying ML Ops best practises and working with the Machine Learning teams
• Become an expert in one of our data science practises: Time Series Forecasting, MLOPs, NLP, Computer Vision, Optimization or Customer Intelligence
• Discover state of the art algorithms and test them during your client projects, on real world data

Qualifications: Education & experience required

• A Master’s degree in machine learning, mathematics, computer science, or related fields
• 3+ years of hands-on experience developing and applying data-driven solutions in a corporate or consulting setting 
• Strong experience and knowledge of data processing, data modelling, algorithms, and data architecture
• Fluent in at least one of the following languages: Python, R, SQL, etc…
• Experience in leading a technical project in a business context
• Intellectual curiosity and excellent problem-solving skills, including the ability to structure and prioritise an approach for maximum impact
