The Role:

We are looking for a Health Economics and Outcomes Intern to join our HEOR Team for the summer. This role is designed for a current graduate student, recent graduate, or someone with equivalent early-career experience who is passionate about using advanced statistical methods and AI tools to improve population health and reduce the total cost of care through medication optimization at health-plan scale.

Working closely with our Senior Researchers and Data Scientists, you will apply causal inference frameworks to real-world healthcare data to help us understand the "why" behind clinical and economic outcomes. As a key technical leader and team architect working in a fast-paced environment, you will drive the design, development, and optimization of scalable data ingestion pipelines within the Arine platform. Leveraging expert-level proficiency in Python and AWS, you will architect solutions that handle diverse file types and large-scale healthcare datasets. The Role:

The Data Engineering Lead is a pivotal hybrid role within the Data Engineering team, combining hands-on development with leadership responsibilities. This individual will lead a squad of Data Engineers to deliver high-quality, high-velocity customer data pipelines while maintaining existing ones. The Data Engineering Lead owns end-to-end delivery including project management, data quality, and timelines and is accountable for both team output and their own individual contributions. This role requires consistently high standards in both coding and execution.

What You'll be Doing:

• Collaborate with the Implementation team and Data Analyst to review and own DE requirement writeups, ensuring they fully address data needs discussed in implementation calls

• Communicate timelines for deliverables to unblock Data Engineers for ETL pipeline development

The Role:

We are looking for a Bilingual Clinical Pharmacist to join a strong team of clinicians, analysts, clinical support staff, and trainees to utilize Arine’s software platform and to help optimize patient outcomes for our clients. The purpose of this position is to provide an expert level medication therapy consultation to the patients and providers, collaborate with the Engineering team and leadership to improve Arine’s software platform, and to help supervise the Clinical Care support team. This candidate will have a direct impact on patient care and the delivery of our core clinical services, stay continuously up-to-date on developments in the fast-moving drug field, and be aware of emerging patterns, treatment guidelines, and best practices. 

The Bilingual Clinical Pharmacist receives assignments and functions under the supervision of the Head of Operations to carry out and supervise direct patient care responsibilities and perform a range of functions that include the maintenance and review of patient medication profiles; counseling patients on appropriate drug use; promoting adherence; developing clinical recommendations; reviewing completed medication reviews by other Virtual Pharmacist users; as well as interacting with other health professionals to help improve patient outcomes. 

Job duties also include assisting with orienting new team members and Virtual Pharmacist users, facilitating prior authorizations, helping patients with finding financial assistance and transportation to help increase medication adherence, review and evaluate clinical guidelines and workflow processes as assigned.

Who You Are and What You Bring:

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited college/university

• Licensed Pharmacist and in good standing (multiple state licenses are a plus)

• Completion of a PGY-1 residency, or equivalent experience  

• Bilingual fluency in English and either Spanish, Mandarin or Cantonese. Must be comfortable speaking to patients in that language regarding their medications and healthcare

• Ability to review and assess the appropriateness of prescriptions with respect to age specific, disease state specific considerations

Under the supervision of a Clinical Support Lead, you will make outbound calls to patients, providers, and pharmacies to intervene in patient cases identified by Arine's platform. These calls may involve obtaining and accurately documenting health and contact information, scheduling appointments, resolving medication-related issues, and performing patient engagement activities. In addition, you will answer inbound customer support requests and handle other assigned duties.

This is a patient-facing, phone-based role in a call center–style environment where you will spend the majority of your day engaging with patients, providers, and pharmacies by phone. What You’ll Be Doing:

• Engaging patients over the phone to deliver Arine's services on behalf of their health plan, including clearly explaining clinical programs (i.e. medication adherence, medication therapy management, medication reviews, etc.) and benefits
• Managing a consistent volume of outbound and inbound calls while maintaining productivity and service quality
• Meeting individual and team performance metrics related to outreach, engagement, documentation quality, and service outcomes
• Escalating potential medication-related and health-related issues to a pharmacist
• Obtaining provider contact information to facilitate the delivery of clinical interventions
• Obtaining patient information required for clinical interventions
• Answering phone calls from patients, providers, and pharmacies and responding to inquiries professionally
• Accurately documenting all interactions, interventions, and outcomes in Arine's software platform
• Participating in process improvement meetings and team meetings to optimize workflows
• Following up with hospitals, clinics, pharmacies, and patients to resolve clinical issues and concerns
• Preparing and sending patient educational materials and other necessary items as needed
• Scheduling patients for telephonic or videoconference appointments with clinical pharmacists
• Assisting with obtaining referrals and authorizations
• Following established workflows while remaining flexible as processes evolve
• Taking ownership of assigned work and seeing it through to completion

Who You Are and What You Bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences or a related field preferred. Healthcare certification preferred (e.g., Certified Pharmacy Technician, Certified Medical Assistant, Behavioral Health Technician). Candidates with equivalent medical, healthcare, call center, customer service, or patient-facing experience are encouraged to apply
• Bilingual fluency in English and either Spanish, Mandarin / Cantonese or Vietnamese. Must be comfortable speaking to patients in that language regarding their medications and healthcare
• Ability to prioritize effectively and work in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology and medication names (brand and generic)
• Excellent written and oral communication skills

During peak season (May through early December), our team plays a vital role in supporting business operations. Workload and scheduling demands increase during this time, and time off may be limited. Optional overtime may also be offered to meet business needs. Each year, the Clinical Care department observes a holiday shutdown of approximately 2–3 weeks between late December and early January. Please note that while Arine remains operational, the Clinical Care department is closed during this period. Following the shutdown, the team transitions back to full capacity on a modified schedule through February, during which some shifts or hours may differ from standard operations. The Role:

We are looking for a Tennessee licensed Clinical Pharmacist to join a strong team of clinicians, analysts, clinical support staff, and trainees to utilize Arine’s software platform and to help optimize patient outcomes for our clients. The purpose of this position is to provide an expert level medication therapy consultation to the patients and providers, collaborate with the Engineering team and leadership to improve Arine’s software platform, and to help supervise the Clinical Care support team. This candidate will have a direct impact on patient care and the delivery of our core clinical services, stay continuously up-to-date on developments in the fast-moving drug field, and be aware of emerging patterns, treatment guidelines, and best practices. 

The Clinical Pharmacist receives assignments and functions under the supervision of the Head of Operations to carry out and supervise direct patient care responsibilities and perform a range of functions that include the maintenance and review of patient medication profiles; counseling patients on appropriate drug use; promoting adherence; developing clinical recommendations; reviewing completed medication reviews by other Virtual Pharmacist users; as well as interacting with other health professionals to help improve patient outcomes. 

Job duties also include assisting with orienting new team members and Virtual Pharmacist users, facilitating prior authorizations, helping patients with finding financial assistance and transportation to help increase medication adherence, review and evaluate clinical guidelines and workflow processes as assigned. 

All members of the Clinical Care team are expected to communicate effectively, maintain a cooperative working relationship with clients and colleagues, be respectful and accept constructive feedback professionally, and continuously learn new skills to deliver quality customer service and patient care.

What You’ll be Doing:

• Evaluate, assess, and document patient data in Arine’s software platform and other programs, prepare written reports, and provide oral reports concerning patient care and team progress
• Complete efficient and thorough medication review and/or adherence counseling appointments
• Review completed medication reviews and counseling by other Virtual Pharmacist users, as assigned
• Staff various clinical shifts and work with automation and new technology 
• Respond to questions by patients, providers, and other professional personnel and team members
• Participate in process improvement meetings to help achieve efficient workflows
• Communicate effectively in both written and oral formats and provide daily sign-out when applicable
• Follow-up with clinics, providers, pharmacies, and patients to resolve patient issues and concerns in a timely manner
• Develop intervention strategies to optimize medication utilization, achieve quality measures, and other established goals
• Identify opportunities for improvement regarding workflow processes and Arine’s software platform
• Assist with obtaining referrals and authorizations 
• Guide and help oversee other Clinical Care team members
• Orient new Virtual Pharmacist users to workflows and the Virtual Pharmacist
• Evaluate and help develop clinical algorithms 
• Comply with all company policies and state and federal rules and regulations

Who You Are and What You Bring:

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited college/university
• Tennessee Licensed Pharmacist and in good standing (multiple state licenses are a plus)
• Completion of a PGY-1 residency, or equivalent experience  
• Ability to review and assess the appropriateness of prescriptions with respect to age specific, disease state specific considerations
• Ability to engage with the patients, promote adherence and treat them with empathy and compassion
• Ability to organize and set priorities which accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities
• Knowledge of chronic disease states, such as diabetes, heart failure, COPD, asthma, cardiovascular disease, hypertension, dyslipidemia, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorders, and thought disorders
• Ability to apply judgment and make informed decisions in order to work independently and meet deadlines
• Ability to work effectively within a team and foster effective working relationships and build consensus
• Experience working with patients of different cultural, religious, and socio-economic backgrounds
• Has knowledge of influence of patient’s age, sex, concomitant disease states, concurrent drug therapy, foods and diagnostic procedures on drug activity and disposition
• Has knowledge of local, state and federal regulatory requirements related to areas of functional responsibility
• Has knowledge of prescription and non-prescription drugs and drug products and their indications, efficacy, dosage, mechanisms of action, major contraindications and potential side effects
• Willingness and ability to obtain registered pharmacist license in other states, as needed
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
