About You
We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of Tax to build, lead, and scale our global tax function. This role will be responsible for establishing best-in-class tax processes, ensuring compliance across jurisdictions, and providing proactive guidance on indirect tax matters.
You are a seasoned tax leader with deep expertise in indirect taxation — particularly HST/GST/QST and U.S. sales and use tax — and you know how to build a function, not just run one. You've operated in multinational or high-growth environments and are equally comfortable advising the CFO on a complex M&A structure as you are rolling up your sleeves to get a filing done right. You bring sharp technical knowledge of tax compliance, audit management, and ERP systems, and you know how to translate tax risk into plain language for non-tax stakeholders. Your communication skills matter here because you'll be the primary voice on all tax matters to senior leadership — clarity and credibility are non-negotiable. You thrive in environments where the playbook is still being written, because you're the one writing it.

Votre profil
Nous sommes à la recherche d’une personne au profil autant stratégique que pratique pour bâtir, diriger et développer notre fonction fiscale mondiale à titre de directeur/directrice de la fiscalité. La personne retenue sera responsable de mettre en place des processus fiscaux de pointe, garantir la conformité dans toutes les juridictions et assurer un encadrement proactif en matière de fiscalité indirecte.
Vous êtes un pro de la fiscalité, alliant expérience et expertise en fiscalité indirecte, notamment tout ce qui touche à la TVH/TPS/TVQ au Canada et aux taxes de vente et d'utilisation aux États-Unis. Plus qu’un simple gestionnaire, vous savez comment bâtir une fonction au sein d’une entreprise. Vous avec travaillé dans des environnements multinationaux et à forte croissance, et vous êtes aussi à l'aise à conseiller le directeur financier sur une structure de fusion-acquisition complexe qu’à vous impliquer directement dans la production de déclarations fiscales. Vous possédez une expertise de pointe en conformité fiscale, en gestion des audits et en systèmes ERP, mais vous êtes aussi capable de vulgariser les risques fiscaux pour des interlocuteurs non spécialistes. Les compétences en communication sont essentielles, car vous serez le principal interlocuteur de la haute direction pour toutes les questions fiscales – la clarté et la crédibilité sont primordiales. Vous excellez dans les environnements où il n’existe pas de modèles à suivre, surtout si c’est vous qui tracez la voie!

About You
You have experience in both public and private accounting and you can comfortably work collaboratively in teams and independently. You are a self-motivated individual who has a thirst to develop new processes while improving existing ones. As an accountant at AppDirect you are someone who is able to roll up their sleeves for a hands-on experience with an elite team to develop and build a first-class accounting function. To be successful in this role, you must have strong knowledge of GAAP, accounting processes, controls and systems.
The position offers a flexible hybrid schedule: you will work one day per week onsite and four days remote. Compensation includes 15 paid working days (PTO) plus local holidays, comprehensive medical coverage (OSDE Plan 310) for you and your dependents, reimbursement for eligible wellness activities, English lessons, global and local events participation, and much more!
What you’ll do and how you’ll have an impact
Assist in monthly close process and ensure compliance with monthly close calendar. Participate in month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
Prepare accruals, and perform prepaid analysis
Perform bank reconciliations
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business operations and financial reporting to provide financial insights and guidance to other teams to help inform decision-making.
Assist in the preparation of U.S. GAAP financial statements.
Assist with external financial audits and other due diligence requests.
Support accounting team’s commitment to timely and accurate processing of accounting transactions in accordance with US GAAP and the Company’s internal controls. Ensure compliance with internal controls and company accounting policies and help strengthen the internal control environment.
Perform other special projects and analyses as directed by management.
Support the implementation and enhancement of accounting systems and tools, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of the business.
What we’re looking for
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
Direct experience supporting accounting function of US/Europe based international company whether in public accounting or with an international company (1+ years total) strongly desired.
Experience establishing and optimizing reporting processes to ensure accurate and timely reporting
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including excellent written, oral, listening and presentational skills and ability to work well under pressure and interact at all levels are also required.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with limited supervision.
NetSuite ERP system experience a plus. Advanced knowledge of Excel
