Technical Account Manager (TAM) – Colombia

Alarm.com, a rapidly growing, entrepreneurial technology company, seeks a Technical Account Manager (TAM) to join our talented international team working from Bogota. The two main areas of focus of a TAM are:

• Driving the Technical Onboarding process to ensure new partners have all the training and tools they need to succeed.
• Managing a subset of Alarm.com’s key international partners to ensure they efficiently utilize the full suite of Alarm.com services and tools. This includes everything from backend integrations to customer support tools to end-user features.

We’re searching for high-powered talent with a passion for technology, a consultative and entrepreneurial spirit, and a desire to drive and manage relationships internally across departments and externally with our partners. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities for this role include:

• Provide valuable ongoing product support and training to partners via webinars and on-site.
• Champion and advocate for partner requirements by gathering feedback from the field on how we can improve our product and processes.
• Represent Alarm.com at various trade shows and events.
• Demonstrate in-depth and current understanding of all existing and new Alarm.com product release features to respond to partner inquiries properly.
• Creating training materials like presentations, technical guides, and videos to facilitate the ongoing training process for partners.
• Conducting local and remote tests for new features in close cooperation with Product Managers and Quality Engineers.
• Drive the adoption of key tools that have an impact on the business operation of partners.
• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

• BA or BS, Engineering, Math, or sciences preferred
• The ability to communicate in English with vendors and internal teams, both in writing and verbally, in a clear, professional manner.
• Other languages are a plus.
• A self-starter who can operate independently.
• Proficiency and up-to-date knowledge of consumer, cloud, and IoT technology.
• Strong people skills; natural customer service orientation and disposition. Candidate must enjoy working with clients and supporting internal customers in the organization.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• The ability and commitment to meet deadlines, even during high-volume periods.
• Flexible and positive attitude that fosters team spirit.
• Availability to travel up to 65% within the LATAM region.
• Experience with the following is a plus: Intrusion detection systems, access control, home automation, or video over IP.
• Must work from the Bogota office (Parque de la 93) at least 3 days per week when not traveling.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Alarm.com, a rapidly growing, entrepreneurial technology company, is seeking an International Business Development Manager to join our talented international team working from Netherlands or Belgium to cover all the DACH area. The Business Development Manager will coordinate and maintain customer business relationships within our international markets, identify and develop opportunities for business expansion, and develop marketing strategies.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prospecting, on-boarding, and developing new commercial dealers into the Alarm.com partner program.
• Developing relationships with key individuals inside account base and investigating and resolving obstacles to dealer success.
• Assisting commercial dealers present to large end user opportunities.
• Initiating and executing on-site dealer product technical and sales training activities.
• Developing relationships with industry partners and educating on the Alarm.com offering to influence dealer sales activity.
• Reporting to Director of Business Development and working in collaboration with Technical Account Managers to identify target dealers and to coordinate sales and support efforts.
• Attending industry association meetings and trade shows as necessary.
• Interfacing with various departments within the organization including Sales Operations & Support, Sales Support & Training, Product Management and Marketing.
• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

• 5+ years of experience in a sales role is preferred.
• Motivated self-starter that is also team player with positive attitude and excellent communication skills, they type of person that looks for solutions.
• Experience in the sales, installation, and support of commercial security products, specifically access control, alarm systems, and video surveillance.
• Proven history of increasing revenue, closing new accounts and successfully growing accounts.
• Ability to sell concepts and value-added services a must.
• Successful history of client and account management and business development.
• Highly motivated, self-starter with ability to work independently.
• Ability to meet heavy travel demands – approximate travel is 50-75%.
• Ability to manage a large set of accounts and prioritize activities for highest impact.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills including client presentation and training delivery experience.
• Demonstrated passion for providing the highest-quality customer service.
• Team player with an extremely positive attitude and flexibility.
• Strong technical and computer skills and aptitude.
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a small, fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable speaking in front of audiences.
• Security Industry background, knowledge in IT Communications, CCTV, Access Control and Intrusion Alarms will be highly regarded.
• Fluency in Dutch and English (written and oral). German is also plus

The International Project Management Team

The International Project Management Team is a rapidly growing service offering at Alarm.com. The Role

Project Managers are responsible for ensuring complex service and product launches meet customer expectations and align with regional market needs and requirements. As a Project Manager, you will work as part of a driven, collaborative team to apply project management discipline to complex international launches and initiatives.

Project Managers are hands-on problem solvers who immerse themselves in our customers’ most intricate business needs and take ownership of executing complex international service and product launches. • Develop deep technical knowledge of Alarm.com architecture and solutions, applying strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills to complex initiatives.
