Senior Program Manager / Project Manager
We are looking for a Senior Program Manager / Project Manager to lead the coordination, planning, and delivery of multiple high-impact software initiatives. This role operates at the intersection of engineering, systems, and operations — ensuring that complex, interdependent projects move forward efficiently and deliver on our commitments. The ideal candidate is a strategic problem solver and an execution leader who excels at bringing order to ambiguity, managing competing priorities, and driving programs from concept through successful delivery.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Partner with engineering, systems, and product teams to translate program goals into actionable plans, milestones, and deliverables.
- Coordinate multiple concurrent projects with many moving parts — ensuring dependencies are managed and schedules stay on track.
- Drive clarity and focus across teams by proactively identifying risks, resolving blockers, and communicating priorities.
- Manage program-level communication and reporting to ensure visibility across technical and leadership stakeholders.
- Work closely with the Software Infrastructure and QA teams to support testing, release management, and process improvement.
- Triage and prioritize issues from field operations, balancing customer support and ongoing development timelines.
- Facilitate cross-functional planning sessions, retrospectives, and status reviews to maintain alignment and accountability.
- Champion operational excellence and continuous improvement across development processes and tools.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- 5-7+ years of experience in program or project management roles, ideally within a software or technology development environment.
- Demonstrated success managing multiple complex workstreams simultaneously.
- Proven ability to drive results and accountability across cross-functional teams without direct authority.
- Strong understanding of software development, testing, and release methodologies.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills, with a focus on execution and delivery.
- Experience using Jira, Confluence, or similar project management tools.
- Eligibility to work with export-controlled technology.
- Experience with 3D, 2D, or geographic content creation tools such as Maya, Presagis Creator, Photoshop, QGIS, ArcMap, Global Mapper.
BONUS POINTS
- Experience in real-time graphics, simulation, or video game development.
- Familiarity with Jira, Perforce, Visual Studio, Jenkins, or other software development tools.
Background in Computer Science or related field; programming experience with Python or C++ is a plus.
$140,000 - $180,000 / year
The above range is specific to CALIFORNIA and may not be applicable to other locations. The pay scale for this role is between $140,000 - $180,000. Final compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.
We offer a very attractive compensation package including competitive base salary, company performance-based profit sharing, 401k, 100% employer paid health benefits (medical, dental, vision, life, std, ltd, and life insurance plans).

Senior 3D Graphics Software Engineer
Experience Required for this Position:
- Passion for real time computer graphics and solid software engineering principles
- 5+ years of experience in design and architecture of 3D real time graphics applications for the game, broadcast, entertainment or visual simulation industries
- Experience leading a team of peers in shipping exceptional products within the constraints of a delivery deadline
- In-depth knowledge of and experience programming in C and C++ languages
- Experience developing OpenGL, Vulkan or Direct3D applications, including both real time engines, graphics tools for the content creation pipeline and programmable shading
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work with export-controlled technology
Desired Competencies:
- Experience with rendering engines and scene graphs such as Intrinsic Alchemy, OpenSceneGraph, Unreal, Unity, or Source
- Experience with GPU computing platforms such as OpenCL, CUDA, or DirectCompute
- Experience with next-generation graphics APIs such as Vulkan or DirectX 12
- Experience with multi-processing real time systems
- Experience developing image processing software
- Experience with defect tracking systems such as Bugzilla or Jira
- Experience with Configuration Management (CM) systems such as Perforce or Git
- Experience developing tools to work with geographic data such as KML, vector files, digital elevation and satellite imagery

Junior Software Engineer - Internship
We are currently seeking students who have attained Sophomore or Junior Status in Computer Science or Computer Engineering programs to join our Summer Internship program. In addition to technical acumen, we highly value leadership skills as we believe innovation thrives when developers take initiative to make great software.
This position will be a member of our core 3D Graphics Software Engineering team, which develops pC-Nova, Aechelon Technology’s industry-leading visual simulation application, based in our Overland Park, Kansas office. This role will be paired with a Mentor who will assist in developing new technologies to improve Aechelon’s products. This role will have the opportunity to contribute to Aechelon’s shipping products and therefore make a lasting impact on our Company and our end users.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with core 3D Graphics Software Engineering team to develop and enhance pC-Nova, Aechelon Technology’s flagship visual simulation application
- Work closely with dedicated Mentor to design and implement new technologies aimed at improving Aechelon’s product offerings
- Contribute directly to production-level software, with the opportunity to make a meaningful and lasting impact on both company products and end-user experience
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Passion for developing fast code and solid software engineering principles
- In-depth knowledge of and experience programming in C or C++ languages
- Two years progress towards B.S. in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Junior 3D Graphics Software Engineer
This position will be a member of our core 3D Graphics Software team, designing and developing our real time graphics rendering engine and content creation tools. This role will help with taking our art path and its integration with our shader engine to the next level of realism and performance. This role’s primary workplace will be at our Overland Park, Kansas office.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and develop real-time graphics rendering engine components and content creation tools alongside the 3D Graphics Software team
- Enhance integration between the art pipeline and the shader engine to achieve higher levels of visual realism and performance
- Collaborate on-site with the engineering team at the Overland Park, Kansas office to support the development and optimization of rendering technologies
