Payment Partnerships Manager

Adyen is looking for a Payment Partnerships Manager who will advance Adyen’s strategy and agenda with key payment methods in EMEA including card networks, local and alternative payment methods, and financial institutions.

In this role you will drive high-impact partnerships for Adyen and use your influence and tenacity to build strong commercial collaborations across the region. You’ll work closely with a broad range of cross-functional stakeholders building strategic and successful relationships. 

This is a full-time position based in our Milan office reporting into our Head of Payment Partnerships for EMEA.

What you’ll do

• Manage strategic partnerships: Build and nurture relationships with leading payment methods at local and continental levels. Define and execute a proactive, multi-year strategy across a multitude of payment methods (card-based, bank-based, alternative). Negotiate complex agreements and drive alignment with partners’ senior counterparts and internal stakeholders to ensure Adyen remains at the forefront of payments innovation.
• Deliver high-impact projects: Coordinate high-caliber, complex projects to improve financial and operational performance. Think strategically and implement effectively key initiatives at scale, solving key trade-offs and navigating between commercial opportunities and product challenges. 
• Cross-Functional collaboration: Partner with product, commercial and finance teams to define and execute go-to-market strategies. Provide market insights to accelerate our product roadmap and commercialization efforts.

Who you are

• 5+ years relevant experience in payments strategic partnerships 
• Deep knowledge of the payments landscape, with critical thinking skills to understand and interpret emerging trends. 
• Proven success in negotiating multi-year agreements and partnerships 
• A strategic mindset paired with the ability to make data-driven decisions and execute operationally
• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders across different functions and organizational levels
• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
• Full professional proficiency (written and verbal) in English.

Account Manager

Our Account Managers are encouraged to challenge each other and sharpen ideas as a team, because winning is more important than ego. In this role, you’ll get excited by working on a wide portfolio of mid-sized, fast-growth merchants across a variety of verticals. Through a pooled Account Management approach, you’ll work alongside a group of talented and driven Account Managers. Together, you’ll focus on efficiency and proactivity whilst developing customer relationships and driving commercial growth for your accounts.

What You’ll Do:

• Collaboration: As an Account Manager, you will work closely with other Account Managers; collaborating on many different accounts across a wide range of industries.
• Relationship management: Responsible for ramping and growing customers with a focus on commercial growth, customer satisfaction, and reducing churn.
• Commercial acumen: Drive commercial discussions for joint accounts, while striving to meet strategic and financial targets. 
• Project management: Prioritize and manage short and long term projects with varying timelines across multiple accounts, leveraging internal support teams where relevant.
• Technical Affinity: Analytical and data-driven thinker who feels comfortable with spreadsheet analysis and technical discussions about the nuances of payments.
• Feedback: Serve as a feedback loop for your customers internally. 

Who You Are:

• Enjoy engaging others and developing strong working relationships internally and externally with customers.
• You're a natural-born networker and self-starter, and your communication skills make it easy for you to organize and lead customer meetings in person, over the phone, or online.
• Passionate about working on a wide portfolio of accounts and having the opportunity to learn about many aspects of the payments industry
• Eager to challenge yourself to identify commercial opportunities and drive commercial discussions with customers
• Strong time management skills and constantly looking for ways to work efficiently

Additional Requirements:

• You have 2-5 years of full-time work experience in a client-facing, commercial role, like account management, consulting, or in the payments industry from a merchant side (bonus if in complex enterprise software, technical infrastructure or financial services)
• This role is based in our Milan office. We have a hybrid workplace and value in-person collaboration; we do not offer remote-only roles.
• You have full professional written and verbal proficiency in Italian and English (other languages are a plus). Some domestic and international travel is required.

Enterprise Account Manager

As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for developing strong relationships by earning trust with our customers, and providing impactful payments insights to help them grow. Our Account Managers are empowered to own the customer relationship and provide best-in-class service to our customers. In this role, you’ll contribute to our ongoing momentum by understanding the unique customer need and identifying commercial opportunities, including expansion opportunities and the addition of value adding products. Self-motivated and resourceful, you’ll bring a strategic mindset and commercial approach to the role.

What You’ll Do:

• Relationship management: Build strong customer relationships and navigate their organizations to align the right external and internal stakeholders. Develop a global network of people within Adyen and work collaboratively across cultures and time zones

• We are looking for a range of experience levels: from 4-7 years experience in an account management / product management role or complex enterprise software, technical infrastructure or financial services (specifically payments) role
• Enjoy engaging others and developing strong working relationships at all levels of management
• Passionate about leading strategic payments conversations, presenting business reviews, and coordinating high level technical discussions
• Skilled in leveraging your business acumen and analytical abilities to strategically assess and help reach client goals
• Comfortable synthesizing complex data sets and using data to tell a story
• You have full professional written and verbal proficiency in Italian and English.
• Excited to prioritize and manage multiple projects across different departments, while motivating and collaborating with others to achieve results
