Position Summary

Activate is seeking a summer & fall intern to support outreach and engagement efforts for the Activate Fellowship—our flagship program supporting scientists and engineers in bringing breakthrough technologies from lab to market.

In this role, you will contribute to the execution of high-quality communications and marketing initiatives that help reach and inspire prospective applicants. You’ll support recruitment campaigns by helping ensure messaging is clear, consistent, and compelling across channels—from email to webinars to web content.

This is an execution-focused role on the Brand team, ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and interested in communications to expand access to deep tech entrepreneurship.

Primary Responsibilities

• Draft, build, and execute email campaigns in HubSpot to engage prospective applicants and partners
• Support social media and communications project management for the recruitment cycle
• Help maintain consistency and quality across messaging in partnership with the Brand team
• Update and maintain recruitment-related website content and FAQs
• Support development and refinement of outreach materials for communities and partners
• Coordinate logistics for recruitment webinars (Zoom, Luma, calendar invites, registration tracking)
• Ensure a seamless experience for attendees through strong operational execution
• Support HubSpot permissions management and help maintain CRM hygiene for recruitment campaigns
• Track timelines, deliverables, and communications across the recruitment cycle
• Assist Fellowship and Community teams with outreach execution and coordination
• Coordinate with Brand team to ensure alignment across campaigns and channels

About the Role

This is a 40-hour per week paid internship running from June 1 through December 1, 2026, with a pay rate of $23.00/hour. The role is open to U.S.-based candidates, with a preference for those located in the Bay Area (CA), Boston (MA), New York (NY), or Houston (TX), though remote work is available from any state where Activate operates.

This internship sits on the Brand team, reporting to the Director of Communications, and will partner closely with the Recruitment and Pipeline teams.

Position Summary

Activate is seeking a Managing Director with extensive experience in the U.S. market to launch and lead Activate's one-year fellowship program in Singapore. This is a rare opportunity to shape Activate’s first international program. The Managing Director will serve as the lead advisor for a cohort of entrepreneurial scientists while also stewarding key partnerships and growing Activate’s presence in Southeast Asia, and working with the Activate leadership team to inform global strategy moving forward. Strong candidates will have robust experience leading a deep-tech company in the U.S., including having raised funds in the U.S.

This role is 50% focused on directly mentoring and advising the fellows, 25% on ecosystem engagement and regional partnership building, and 25% on managing program design and operations. The Managing Director will oversee and coordinate all program resources with the support of a part time program manager from Activate and 2 NTU based staff - to ensure a cohesive and high-quality experience for fellows.

This role reports to Activate’s EVP of Strategic Initiatives and will work closely with Activate’s executive team and cross-functional program staff.

Primary Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary advisor and mentor to a cohort of entrepreneurial scientists to drive successful outcomes for each individual fellow, providing mentorship, support, network connectivity, and resources.
• Lead program delivery in Singapore, including review and selection of fellows, goal setting, advisory board formation, 1:1 mentorship, quarterly board meetings, and weekly educational programming. 
• Manage and align program resources, including coordination of NTU staff and Activate’s part-time program manager, to deliver an integrated and effective fellowship experience.
• Cultivate partnerships across Southeast Asia’s innovation ecosystem to expand fellows’ access to experts, funders, and infrastructure.
• Manage key institutional relationships, especially with NTU and government stakeholders, to support program implementation and ongoing design iteration and reporting.
• Collaborate with Activate’s U.S. team to tailor program content, troubleshoot challenges, and share learnings that inform Activate’s global strategy.
• Represent Activate in Singapore and the region with funders, policymakers, and ecosystem partners.

The Ideal Candidate

• Has an advanced degree in the physical or biological sciences and 5-7 years experience in research, development, management, and commercialization of science-driven technologies, with entrepreneurial experience as the leader of a new company or business unit.
• Has led a company and fundraised in the US market.
• Has led high-performance technical teams and has demonstrated a commitment to nurturing talent through mentorship.
• Has a strong network and reputation among stakeholders from across the innovation ecosystem (academia, industry, finance, and government).
• Strongly exhibits objectivity, empathy, and inclusiveness in leadership.

About The Role

This is a full-time position with a competitive salary range between USD $200K / SGD $258K to USD $225K / SGD $292K, with a generous benefits package that includes relocation assistance, professional development, wellness funds, paid time off, healthcare premiums covered for employees and dependents.

Employment is contingent upon the candidate’s ability to obtain and maintain any required Singapore work authorization. Activate Global will sponsor an Employment Pass or other applicable work pass for qualified non-citizen candidates in accordance with Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower regulations.

Activate is looking for a Managing Director to mentor a community of Activate Fellows in the Boston area by serving as their primary entrepreneurial advisor. In this role, you will drive key fellowship programmatic efforts, lead the selection of new fellows each year, and connect your community of fellows with resources, support, and each other to enable their entrepreneurial success. This role will be responsible for representing the Boston fellow community to the larger Activate Global team and to external stakeholders across academia, industry, finance and government. Primary Responsibilities

• Serve as Managing Director and primary advisor for a cross-disciplinary community of entrepreneurial fellows.
• Drive successful outcomes for each individual fellow, providing mentorship, support, network connectivity, and resources. 
• Oversee core elements of the fellowship, including review and selection of fellows, and bi-weekly in-person and virtual educational programming.
• Build and maintain relationships with universities, research institutions, and other talent pipelines to attract strong applicants to future fellowship cohorts.
• Lead ecosystem engagement efforts for the Boston region, including strengthening relationships with key innovation partners and supporting visibility for Activate and its fellows.
• Build collaborative, cross-functional relationships with staff and partners to ensure the program operates effectively and efficiently.
• Represent Activate at an executive level with public- and private-sector stakeholders from across the technology innovation ecosystem. 
• Engage with current and potential government and philanthropic sponsors.
• Partner with Boston’s local Program Manager to provide best-in-class support to the fellows.

About the Role

This is a full-time position with a competitive base of $215,000 with a generous benefits package that includes professional development, $2,000 in annual wellness funds, flexible paid time off, healthcare coverage for employees and dependents, with 90–100% of premiums covered, and the opportunity to join a retirement plan with a 3% match beginning after 3 months at Activate. 

This position is based in Cambridge, MA. Because we operate an in-person community, our team typically works from the office at least part of each day.
