About the Role

Acquia is hiring a practitioner-evangelist who lives at the intersection of digital marketing and vibe coding. You are not a traditional developer advocate. You are someone who creates compelling digital experiences and who can show others how Drupal and Acquia make that possible.

This role exists because Acquia's future depends on being relevant to audiences beyond the Drupal community. Digital marketers and vibe coders are building the next generation of web experiences, and we need someone who speaks their language, earns their trust, and shows them what Drupal can do for them. In the process, you will bring a whole new wave of practitioners into the Drupal ecosystem.

Critically: this is a doer role. We are not looking for someone who talks about building things. We need someone who builds things live, on camera, in tutorials, in demos. Your content is the proof.

What You'll Do

• Represent Acquia and Drupal to digital marketers and vibe coders through content, social, events, and community as a practitioner, not a spokesperson.
• Actively demo and build with Acquia products on camera and on stage. Product demos and hands-on tutorials are the core of what you produce. If you are not comfortable being the one building the thing in front of an audience, this is not the right role.
• Create high-quality, practitioner-level content like videos, demos, tutorials, live streams, and social posts targeted at non-Drupal audiences and published consistently.
• Show up where digital marketers and vibe coders already are: industry events, YouTube, Reddit, Discord servers, LinkedIn, Slack communities. You are already in these spaces; this role formalises it.
• Speak at events outside the Drupal circuit marketing, no-code, content ops, and AI-assisted development conferences and meetups.
• Collaborate with the broader dev rel team to ensure messaging is consistent and complements our Drupal-focused advocate.
• Surface market insight to Product and Marketing on what this audience cares about, what tools they use, and where Acquia can serve them better.

What You Bring

• You are a digital marketer, content creator, or vibe coder by trade. You have done the work and you continue to do it.
• An existing portfolio of dev rel or practitioner content that you can share: videos, tutorials, demos, talks, or written guides. We will review your work before we meet.
• An active public presence. You already attend and speak at relevant events, post on YouTube or social, and engage in communities where your target audience lives.
• Familiarity with Drupal: you don't need to be a core contributor, but you understand what it is, what it can do, and you are excited to build with it in front of an audience.
• Hands-on comfort with the tools of your audience: marketing automation, CMS platforms, AI-assisted coding tools, or no-code builders and the ability to demo them fluently.
• Strong on-camera and on-stage presence you are a natural whether you are recording a tutorial, going live, or presenting at a conference.
• Self-directed with an entrepreneurial mindset you can identify an opportunity, build a content plan, and execute without hand-holding.

Nice to Have

• Experience with AI-assisted development tools (Cursor, Replit, v0, Bolt, etc.) and genuine familiarity with the vibe coding movement.
• A YouTube channel, newsletter, podcast, or social following in a relevant space and a track record of consistent publishing.
• Experience at a CMS, DXP, or martech company.

About the Role

Acquia is looking for a Director of Developer Relations & Technical Content to build and lead a team of evangelists who bring Drupal and Acquia to audiences that have never heard of us. This is a player-coach role: you will set the strategy, hire and develop the team, and personally own the digital leader and marketing technologist persona as a hands-on evangelist.

The ideal candidate is a developer who has risen through the ranks into a digital or marketing technology leadership role or someone who has worked so closely alongside that persona that they can speak to the technical and strategic pressures with equal fluency. You understand how marketing technology stacks are built, evaluated, and championed internally. You know what keeps a digital leader up at night.

Our thesis is simple: the way to grow Acquia is to grow Drupal's reach and that means getting outside the Drupal community. You will lead the charge to expand into new ecosystems, and in doing so, you will bring new practitioners and advocates into the Drupal community as a whole.

What You'll Do

• Lead and grow a team of technical evangelists and content creators, including our existing Drupal developer advocate who owns the core Drupal/developer community audience.
• Own the strategy for developer relations beyond the Drupal bubble, designing programs that reach digital leaders, marketing technologists, and adjacent technical personas.
• Personally evangelise Acquia and Drupal to the digital leader and marketing technologist audience through content, speaking, and community as a credible peer, not a vendor.
• Be hands-on with our products at all times. You will demo, build with, and create content actively using Acquia products as the star, not as a backdrop. Talking about what our products can do is not enough; you must be seen doing it.
• Maintain an active public presence: speak at industry events, post on LinkedIn and relevant communities, engage in forums and comment threads, and show up where digital leaders and marketing technologists already are.
• Define and execute a content strategy spanning video, written, social, and live formats that drives awareness and adoption outside traditional Drupal channels.
• Collaborate with Product, Sales, and Demand Gen to align dev rel programs with pipeline and product adoption goals.
• Build and manage relationships with key influencers, SME evangelists, and community leaders across target personas.
• Establish metrics and reporting cadences to demonstrate the impact of dev rel investments on brand awareness and community growth.

What You Bring

• 7+ years in developer relations, technical marketing, or developer advocacy, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• A developer background with a career arc toward digital leadership or marketing technology. You have built things and you have also been accountable for digital outcomes.
• Deep understanding of the marketing technologist persona: you know how martech stacks get selected, integrated, and championed, and you can have a credible conversation with both the developer implementing the platform and the VP of Digital owning the roadmap.
• Demonstrated experience with Drupal. You understand the ecosystem, the community, and the technology well enough to be credible.
• An existing portfolio of developer relations content: videos, conference talks, blog posts, tutorials, or courses that you can share. We want to see your work before we meet.
• An active community presence. You already attend and speak at industry events, engage on Reddit or equivalent forums, and have a YouTube channel, newsletter, or social following in a relevant space.
• Proven ability to build and grow communities outside an established ecosystem.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Sr. Director, Special Projects, the ideal candidate will work  with our management team as the backbone of administrative activities to help plan, coordinate, and manage our group’s operations. 

Responsibilities

As Administrative Assistant to the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, & Chief Product & Technology Officer, reporting to the Senior Director of Special Projects for the Executive Leadership Team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of day to day demands and activities including:

• Day-to-day administration and management of all areas of executive support
• Scheduling meetings, 1:1s, speaking engagements and client meetings
• Managing travel and expense reports
• Assist in the preparation for Executive Leadership events, itineraries and coordinating of logistics in the Boston Office
• Work with the Board of Directors to schedule meetings, interacting regularly with the Vista EA’s
• Liaise daily with all areas of the business while interacting with all other C-level Executives to help facilitate key projects and meetings

Qualifications

• 3 - 5 years support experience working in a growing fast paced technology organization
• Advanced proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Google apps
• Self-starter attitude and enthusiasm when working independently and as part of a team
• Ability to properly multitask and prioritize work by considering its risk, importance, urgency, and potential business, organizational, or customer implications
• Strong written and verbal communications skills
• High level of discretion pertaining to confidential information
• High sense of urgency, drive and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done

Compensation: The annual base salary for this full-time position is $80,000 - $90,000. Final compensation will be commensurate with your experience and will be determined by a variety of factors, including city of residence, relevant skillset, and job-related knowledge.

Acquia’s team of Drupal rock stars is helping our customers build stunning web experiences, migrate to Drupal, and integrate intelligent automation to tune and improve their Drupal implementations. With the rapid adoption of Drupal as a flexible web platform, and the increasing demand for AI-enhanced content workflows and personalized user journeys, our Technical Architects are in high demand. They work with some of the most talented technologists and some of the hottest web properties on leading-edge projects. Engagements vary by customer and can include anything from custom coding and mentoring to architecting AI-powered search and metadata solutions through development and application launch.

Required Skills:

• Rapidly onboards to projects, including local / cloud environment setup for personal use
• Familiar with common development tools such as Git, Composer, Drush, Drupal VM / Lando / DDev / Cloud IDEs, AI-assisted coding environments (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor), etc.
• Contributes to code review in area of expertise, ensuring quality and security in both human and AI-generated code.
• Contributes to backlog refinement and planning in area of expertise
• Capable of jumping in and contributing to development activities on delivery projects in area of speciality
• Capable of acting as technical lead on simple projects in areas of expertise, including the evaluation of AI modules and third-party LLM integrations.
• Capable of simple debugging in areas of expertise and AI diagnostic prompts.
• Writes code in area of expertise that conforms to industry / community / Acquia best practices
• Passion for learning and discovery. Self direction. When you don't know an answer, you go find it. Stays current with the evolving landscape of Generative AI and its impact on CMS architecture.
• Strong technical knowledge in area of speciality
• Contributes to the design of technical solutions to meet customer requirements

• Independently researches and resolves technical problems.
• Able to participate in face-to-face customer communication

As the Acquia Source Account Executive, Mid-Market, you will...

• Responsible for selling Acquia Source, our next generation, AI-powered SaaS CMS, powered by Drupal - the most secure and scalable CMS on the planet. 
• Identify new business opportunities, manage, and close deals in Acquia Mid-Market account and prospect base
• Engage with senior level executives within these organizations
• Develop positive relationships and identify prospect needs at all decision-making levels
• Stay current on competitor offerings and be able to identify their strengths and vulnerabilities
• Turn client feedback into meaningful strategies to drive new Acquia Source opportunities business and address competitive risks
• Influence client decisions and advocate for client needs to broker win-win solutions

The annual base salary for this full-time position ranges from $75,000 to $90,000. This role includes a 50/50 split, the variable compensation  is equal to the base salary. This structure results in On-Target Earnings (OTE) ranging from $150,000 to $180,000. Final compensation will be commensurate with your experience and will be determined by a variety of factors, including city of residence, relevant skillset, and job-related knowledge. This role is also eligible for variable compensation.
