Accordion Intelligence Lab

The AI Lab is composed of leading software and AI engineers, designing agentic-AI solutions ahead of the market. Our group builds and operationalizes the AI systems that power Accordion’s consulting capabilities, from agentic architectures and RAG pipelines to evaluation frameworks and production observability.

About the Role

We're looking for a Data Specialist to join one of Accordion's AI-augmented delivery pods. These pods are purpose-built teams that combine AI engineering, data science, and product management to transform how PE-backed companies run finance and operations.

In this role, you are the person who makes data work in practice. You move fluidly between messy source systems and production-ready pipelines, and you do it fast. You'll work directly alongside AI engineers and product managers to scope data requirements, diagnose quality issues, and build the data foundations that AI systems depend on. Client-facing moments come with the territory. You'll need to ask sharp questions, explain what you're seeing in plain language, and earn trust quickly.

This is not a role for someone who needs clean handoffs and stable requirements. The data is complicated, the timelines are short, and the problems change. If that sounds like the environment where you do your best work, this is the role.

What You’ll Do

• Build and maintain the data pipelines, models, and integrations that AI systems depend on, from raw source data to production-ready outputs
• Scope, design, and write custom ML models tailored to client problems, from feature engineering through evaluation and deployment
• Explore unfamiliar datasets with speed and rigor: identify structure, surface anomalies, and form a clear point of view on what the data can and can't support
• Diagnose data quality issues quickly, communicate their impact clearly, and drive resolution without waiting to be asked
• Work directly alongside AI engineers and product managers to translate ambiguous client problems into reliable, well-documented data products
• Run client working sessions on data (source system walkthroughs, model findings, quality assessments) and own the room when you do
• Tell the data story to non-technical audiences: in a chart, in a slide, in a meeting with a CFO who doesn't have time for jargon
• Navigate enterprise data environments fluently (ERP systems, BI platforms, financial data infrastructure) and get things done inside them
• Use AI tools to move faster across the full scope of your work: exploration, modeling, documentation, and client communication
• Travel to client site as needed

Success in the First 6 Months

• Own end-to-end data delivery on multiple AI engagements, from initial source system assessment through production-ready pipelines
• Establish a reputation within your pod for being the person who finds the data problem before it becomes the team's problem
• Run direct client working sessions on data (scope, quality, or access) and leave the client confident in your read of the situation
• Demonstrate faster, higher-quality output because of how you use AI tools, not just that you use them

 What You’ll Bring

• Deep, practical data skills across the full stack: SQL, Python, machine learning, data modeling, pipeline development, and hands-on experience with messy, real-world source systems
• Strong instincts for data quality: You find the problem, quantify the impact, and communicate what it means before anyone has to ask
• Experience working in fast-moving, sprint-based environments where requirements shift and you still ship
• Comfort working directly with clients: Asking the right questions, translating technical findings into plain language, and building credibility quickly
• Background in finance or PE-adjacent environments: ERP systems, FP&A data, financial close processes, or portfolio company data infrastructure
• Fluent with AI and ML workflows: Enough to understand what the engineers need from the data layer, why it matters, and the ability to teach what you know
• AI tools woven into how you work daily, with demonstrably faster output to show for it
• Strong written communication: you can document a model, write a findings summary, produce compelling stories from messy data, and draft a client-facing issue log clearly and quickly

This is a high-velocity environment. Sprints are short, client expectations are high, and we don’t slow down between engagements. If you’ve spent time in large enterprise engineering organizations where velocity is constrained by process, this will feel different.

The annual salary for this role ranges from: $144,500 to $230,000 USD + significant bonus + benefits. Cloud Architect 

Reporting to the Information Security and Infrastructure Manager, the Cloud Architect leads the architectural direction for Accordion's AWS and Azure environments. This role ensures the firm's cloud platforms are aligned across practice capabilities and back-office needs while establishing clear frameworks for security, scalability, resilience, and cost management in a multi-cloud environment.

This leader will partner closely with infrastructure, security, engineering, and practice-facing technology teams to shape cloud patterns that support both enterprise operations and development activities. The role requires enterprise architectural judgment, strong cross-platform knowledge, and the ability to guide globally distributed teams across the US, UK, and India. Travel will be required.

AI Support Analyst

The AI Support Admin plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation and adoption of AI tools across Accordion. Acting as the first line of specialized support for AI-related escalations, this individual bridges day-to-day technical assistance with long-term enablement initiatives. Reporting to the AI Enablement Lead, the Analyst will partner closely with both AI system readiness and AI training to resolve user issues, maintain system readiness, and enhance firmwide confidence in AI-driven tools.

This role combines hands-on technical troubleshooting with process and training support—making it ideal for someone who is equally comfortable solving technical challenges, documenting best practices, and assisting in the rollout of new AI capabilities.

What You'll Do:

AI Support and Troubleshooting

• Serve as the Help Desk escalation point for all AI-related issues, including tool access, performance, and integration challenges
• Troubleshoot and resolve incidents involving platforms such as Glean, CoPilot, ChatGPT, Zoom AI, and future AI applications
• Maintain documentation of known issues, resolutions, and best practices to improve first-line Help Desk response efficiency
• Monitor AI system health, escalate platform-level outages, and communicate impacts to stakeholders as appropriate

Collaboration and Enablement Support

• Work with AI system readiness to test new configurations, validate system integrations, and ensure readiness for production use

You Have:

• 2–4 years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or AI/automation tool management

• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate across teams, prioritize effectively, and manage multiple concurrent tasks

The AI Operations Associate monitors AI-driven workflows in production, reviews output-quality incidents, supports fallback and human-review decisions, and partners on trust-sensitive escalations. Senior Production Support Engineer 

The Senior Production Support Engineer handles incident triage, issue reproduction, environment support, release support, integration failures, defect coordination, and pod escalation support. This impactful role will serve as a key onshore partner to Product and Engineering during live incidents, high-priority releases, and ambiguous production issues.

What You'll Do:

Incident Response & Triage

• Handle incident triage, issue reproduction, support diagnostics, and escalation management across production systems and workflows
• Investigate application, integration, configuration, and environment issues with a focus on restoring service and clarifying root cause
• Support high-priority incidents that require close coordination with engineering, product, or business stakeholders 

Pod & Release Support

• Act as a close day-to-day support partner to pods during live releases, stabilization periods, and production issue follow-up

Problem Management

• Document incidents clearly, coordinate handoffs to Engineering, and help ensure issues are tracked through resolution

Business-Aware Support

• Translate technical issues into clear business impact statements for finance-sensitive workflows

You Have:

• 5+ years of production support, application support, systems support, or software operations experience
• Experience with modern application environments, APIs, integrations, and workflow-driven platforms

Manager, Production Support & Service Reliability 

The Manager of Production Support & Service Reliability owns the production support operating model, incident management, service levels, release-watch support, escalation governance, and overall live-service quality across pods. What You’ll Do:

Work closely with other team members to serve clients within the office of the CFO of private equity portfolio companies, in the areas of finance strategy and processes improvements such as:

• Design and support process enhancements across the any of the following process areas: lead-to-cash, source-to-pay, record-to-report and FP&A

• Manage transformation workstreams at a single client – under the guidance of Accordion Managing Directors, Senior Directors and/or Directors
• Manage junior resources (Associates, or Analysts)
• Interact and build relationships with all levels of client stakeholders at portfolio companies as well as representatives from Private Equity sponsors

You Have: 

• Minimum 5+ years of relevant professional experience working in a client serving role at a top-tier public accounting or financial advisory firm, and/or mix of client service and private industry experience at a senior level
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. MBA is a plus
• Proven experience successfully leading workstreams, managing not only client dynamics but internal team dynamics as well
• A strong and up-to date knowledge of finance best practices specifically related to the professionalization of the finance function

• Work collaboratively with a diverse set of colleagues to serve clients in the areas of financial accounting matters and business processes:

You Have:

• Minimum of 12+ years of relevant professional experience working in a client serving role at a top-tier public accounting or financial advisory firm, and/or mix of client service and private industry experience at the Controller level
• Proven experience successfully managing multiple projects at the same time, managing not only client/sponsor dynamics but internal team dynamics as well
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field. CPA is a plus
• A strong and up-to date knowledge of US GAAP (exposure to IFRS is a plus), with deep technical understanding of topics such as ASC 606 revenue recognition, lease transactions, purchase accounting, etc.
• Experience preparing financial statements and drafting footnote disclosures. Experience with carve-outs and restatements is a plus
• Experience implementing and managing standardized costing methods within a business or manufacturing setting
• Practical knowledge and success in managing the separation of business units as it relates to carve-outs
• Experience performing financial and operational internal control reviews
• Knowledge of performing IT assessments and financial system implementation experience is a plus

In this role, you will design and build the AI systems that power client engagements: agentic workflows, RAG pipelines, evaluation frameworks, and production-grade tools that operate in real PE environments. You’ll work directly with clients and cross-functional pod teammates from day one, and you will be expected to ship fast, defend your decisions, and continuously raise the bar on what AI-assisted delivery looks like.

This is a highly technical, hands-on role. We move at sprint pace—not quarter pace. If you want to move quickly, own outcomes end-to-end, and build things that matter in finance, this is the role.

What You’ll Do

• Design and build multi-agent systems and RAG pipelines that automate financial workflows for PE-backed portfolio companies
• Own the full stack from prompt engineering and tool design through deployment and monitoring
• Practice eval-driven development: define how success is measured before you build

In this role, you are the translation layer between client problems and AI system design. You don’t manage Jira tickets, you shape what gets built and why. You’ll run discovery sessions, write tight requirements, and keep sprints moving at a pace that only works if you’re using AI to think faster, write better, and communicate more clearly.

We move at sprint pace, not quarter pace. If you want to own outcomes end-to-end, work directly with PE clients, and build things that matter in finance, this is the role.

What You’ll Do

• Interface with executive clients, garner trust in our services, and fill in your own knowledge gaps in real time.
• Translate ambiguous client problems into clear engineering requirements: PRDs, user stories and functional specs (and do it fast)
• Run client discovery sessions and earn trust quickly, including with CFOs and PE operators

CFO Technology

Accordion’s CFO Technology Practice effectively and efficiently delivers the digital services and solutions to support organizational strategic initiatives.

Our CFO Technology experts work cross-functionally — alongside practitioners from all corners of Accordion — to arm CFOs with the appropriate digital solutions needed to implement the team’s business process recommendations and to capitalize on value creation opportunities. From ERP, CPM, Analytics, Data Integration, RPA, and beyond, CFO Tech provides finance leaders with a single, objective partner capable of delivering from strategy to execution.

This role can be based in any of our US office locations and will be a hybrid role with the flexibility to work remotely 2 days a week. Ideal candidates should be local to the desired location. We will also consider candidates who are remote in Canada or the US.

What You’ll Do:

• Collaborate with functional and technical team members to develop effective Adaptive Planning solutions
• Implement budgets, forecasts, and reports within Adaptive Planning for Finance
• Analyze financial models and reports (spreadsheet/non-spreadsheet-based models) and translating those models into Adaptive Planning
• Provide technical guidance (design, model, configuration, troubleshooting, etc.) for the Adaptive suite of products
• Maintain proficiency and certification in the Adaptive Planning solution suite.
• Participate in Adaptive Planning sales opportunities and scoping
• Work directly with clients to document business requirements and translate them into specific Adaptive Planning functionality
• Participate and lead client workshops to define implementation strategy
• Effectively configure and customize client Adaptive Planning environments to develop proof of concepts and present sustainable solutions to client executives and key stakeholders
• Attend pre-sales meetings with prospective clients to assess project level-of-effort with sales team members
• Provide general customer service and assistance to clients and serves as the ‘go-to’ resource on all project related inquiries
• Travel to client site as needed

You Have:

• Minimum of 2+ years of Adaptive Planning Consulting experience
• Strong financial and/or management accounting background
• Must hold current Adaptive Planning certification
• Advanced level hands-on knowledge of all Adaptive features and components including environment settings, modeling, security, workflow, dot notation logic, OfficeConnect, and data integration is necessary
• Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel required
• Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills
• Strong time management skills
• Strong client relation skills, organization and prioritization capabilities
• Business analysis and requirements gathering abilities

The annual salary for this role ranges from: $72,250 to $90,000 USD + benefits + bonus. Actual compensation packages are determined by evaluating a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to geographic location, skill set, years and depth of experience, education, certifications, cost of labor and internal equity.
