About the Role

We're looking for a Data Specialist to join one of Accordion's AI-augmented delivery pods. These pods are purpose-built teams that combine AI engineering, data science, and product management to transform how PE-backed companies run finance and operations.

In this role, you are the person who makes data work in practice. You move fluidly between messy source systems and production-ready pipelines, and you do it fast. You'll work directly alongside AI engineers and product managers to scope data requirements, diagnose quality issues, and build the data foundations that AI systems depend on. Client-facing moments come with the territory. You'll need to ask sharp questions, explain what you're seeing in plain language, and earn trust quickly.

This is not a role for someone who needs clean handoffs and stable requirements. The data is complicated, the timelines are short, and the problems change. If that sounds like the environment where you do your best work, this is the role.

What You’ll Do

• Build and maintain the data pipelines, models, and integrations that AI systems depend on, from raw source data to production-ready outputs
• Scope, design, and write custom ML models tailored to client problems, from feature engineering through evaluation and deployment
• Explore unfamiliar datasets with speed and rigor: identify structure, surface anomalies, and form a clear point of view on what the data can and can't support
• Diagnose data quality issues quickly, communicate their impact clearly, and drive resolution without waiting to be asked
• Work directly alongside AI engineers and product managers to translate ambiguous client problems into reliable, well-documented data products
• Run client working sessions on data (source system walkthroughs, model findings, quality assessments) and own the room when you do
• Tell the data story to non-technical audiences: in a chart, in a slide, in a meeting with a CFO who doesn't have time for jargon
• Navigate enterprise data environments fluently (ERP systems, BI platforms, financial data infrastructure) and get things done inside them
• Use AI tools to move faster across the full scope of your work: exploration, modeling, documentation, and client communication
• Travel to client site as needed

Success in the First 6 Months

• Own end-to-end data delivery on multiple AI engagements, from initial source system assessment through production-ready pipelines
• Establish a reputation within your pod for being the person who finds the data problem before it becomes the team's problem
• Run direct client working sessions on data (scope, quality, or access) and leave the client confident in your read of the situation
• Demonstrate faster, higher-quality output because of how you use AI tools, not just that you use them

 What You’ll Bring

• Deep, practical data skills across the full stack: SQL, Python, machine learning, data modeling, pipeline development, and hands-on experience with messy, real-world source systems
• Strong instincts for data quality: You find the problem, quantify the impact, and communicate what it means before anyone has to ask
• Experience working in fast-moving, sprint-based environments where requirements shift and you still ship
• Comfort working directly with clients: Asking the right questions, translating technical findings into plain language, and building credibility quickly
• Background in finance or PE-adjacent environments: ERP systems, FP&A data, financial close processes, or portfolio company data infrastructure
• Fluent with AI and ML workflows: Enough to understand what the engineers need from the data layer, why it matters, and the ability to teach what you know
• AI tools woven into how you work daily, with demonstrably faster output to show for it
• Strong written communication: you can document a model, write a findings summary, produce compelling stories from messy data, and draft a client-facing issue log clearly and quickly

This is a high-velocity environment. Sprints are short, client expectations are high, and we don’t slow down between engagements. If you’ve spent time in large enterprise engineering organizations where velocity is constrained by process, this will feel different.

The annual salary for this role ranges from: $144,500 to $230,000 USD + significant bonus + benefits. What You'll Do

You'll sit at the intersection of data and strategy, turning complex business challenges into quantifiable opportunities. This means diving deep into our numbers to surface insights that others miss, then translating those insights into actionable growth strategies. You'll work directly with leadership to shape major business decisions, from market expansion and pricing strategy to resource allocation and competitive positioning.

What We're Looking For

The Strategic Mindset: You naturally think several moves ahead. You understand business models, competitive dynamics, and growth levers. You can walk into a room with executives and hold your own in discussions about market strategy, unit economics, and long-term planning. You've seen how businesses succeed and fail, and you know how to spot the difference.
The Technical Depth: You're genuinely strong in quantitative methods—statistics, predictive modeling, optimization, experimental design. You can wrangle messy data, build robust analyses, and know when a sophisticated model is needed versus when a simple calculation will do. Python, R, SQL are still in your wheelhouse.
The Translation Layer: You can explain complex analytical concepts to non-technical stakeholders without dumbing them down. You know how to build conviction around data-driven recommendations and can defend your methodology when challenged. You make the quantitative accessible and actionable.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in analytical roles with increasing strategic responsibility

Lead end-to-end delivery of modern data platforms for our clients—owning scope, schedule, budget, and outcomes. You’ll run agile delivery teams, guide medallion/lakehouse architectures, and partner with clients to translate business goals into scalable solutions on Snowflake, Azure & Databricks.

What You'll Do

• Own program delivery: Drive planning, execution, risk/issue management, RAID logs, dependencies, and executive status reporting across multi-workstream data initiatives.
• Lead agile teams: Stand up and mature Scrum/Kanban ceremonies, backlog hygiene, velocity forecasting, and release management across data engineering, analytics, and platform ops.
• Architectural stewardship: Ensure adherence to medallion (bronze/silver/gold) patterns, data contracts, CI/CD for data, and governance/quality controls (DQ rules, lineage, observability).
• Cloud & platform delivery: Orchestrate environments, security, and cost controls for Snowflake and Azure (ADF/Fabric, Databricks, Synapse, Key Vault, Purview).

• Hands-on familiarity with Snowflake (warehouses, RBAC, performance/cost tuning) and Azure data services (ADF/Fabric, Databricks, Synapse, ADLS, networking & security).
• Strong command of agile delivery (Scrum/Kanban), Jira/Azure DevOps, release planning, and CI/CD for data (Git-based workflows, environments).
• Practical experience implementing medallion architectures and lakehouse patterns, data modeling, and data quality/observability.
• Stakeholder management at VP/C-suite level; crisp written/oral communication and executive reporting.
• Nice to have: regulated industries, FinOps for data platforms, data privacy/compliance (GDPR/CCPA), and analytics enablement (Power BI/Fabric).

Preferred requirements

• BS/MS in CS, IS, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• PMP, PMI-ACP, or SAFe; Snowflake SnowPro; Microsoft Azure (DP-203, AZ-305) a plus.

We’re looking for experienced AI Engineers to join new AI-augmented delivery pods: purpose-built teams that combine AI engineering, data science, and product management to transform how PE-backed companies run finance and operations.

In this role, you will design and build the AI systems that power client engagements: agentic workflows, RAG pipelines, evaluation frameworks, and production-grade tools that operate in real PE environments. You’ll work directly with clients and cross-functional pod teammates from day one, and you will be expected to ship fast, defend your decisions, and continuously raise the bar on what AI-assisted delivery looks like.

This is a highly technical, hands-on role. We move at sprint pace—not quarter pace. If you want to move quickly, own outcomes end-to-end, and build things that matter in finance, this is the role.

What You’ll Do

• Design and build multi-agent systems and RAG pipelines that automate financial workflows for PE-backed portfolio companies
• Own the full stack from prompt engineering and tool design through deployment and monitoring
• Practice eval-driven development: define how success is measured before you build
• Translate ambiguous client problems into engineering requirements and deliver results in compressed timeframes
• Present and defend architectural decisions to technical and non-technical audiences—including CFOs and PE operators
• Build observability and evaluation infrastructure to continuously improve production AI system quality
• Travel to client site as needed

Success in the First 6 Months

• Work with like-mined AI engineers to ship at least one end-to-end agentic solution in a client engagement, from scoping through production
• Establish evaluation infrastructure for your pod’s systems so that quality is measurable and regressions are caught early
• Demonstrate materially faster delivery cycles because of how you use AI tools—not just that you use them
• Build a reputation within the pod and with clients as someone who can be handed a hard problem and trusted to return a working, defensible solution

What You’ll Bring

• AI tools are woven into how you work daily—you are materially faster because of it, and you can demonstrate that concretely
• 3–8+ years of software engineering experience with a notable portion in AI/ML systems, agent development, or applied LLM engineering
• Hands-on experience building production LLM applications: RAG systems, agentic workflows, tool use, multi-agent orchestration
• Proficiency in Python; experience with LangChain, LangGraph, AutoGen, DSPy, or equivalent orchestration frameworks
• Strong grasp of evaluation methodologies: designing evals, catching regressions, assessing LLM output quality
• Solid data engineering fundamentals: ETL design, SQL/NoSQL, vector databases, streaming or batch pipelines

Nice to Have

• Open-source contributions in the AI/ML space
• Finance or PE domain experience: FP&A, GL data, ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP), or financial workflow automation
• Experience building tools for reuse across multiple clients or in multi-tenant architectures
• Prior experience in consulting, professional services, or client-facing delivery environments

We’re looking for an AI Product Manager to join one of Accordion’s new AI-augmented delivery pods—purpose-built teams that combine AI engineering, data science, and product management to transform how PE-backed companies run finance and operations.

In this role, you are the translation layer between client problems and AI system design. You don’t manage Jira tickets, you shape what gets built and why. You’ll run discovery sessions, write tight requirements, and keep sprints moving at a pace that only works if you’re using AI to think faster, write better, and communicate more clearly.

We move at sprint pace, not quarter pace. If you want to own outcomes end-to-end, work directly with PE clients, and build things that matter in finance, this is the role.

What You’ll Do

• Interface with executive clients, garner trust in our services, and fill in your own knowledge gaps in real time.
• Translate ambiguous client problems into clear engineering requirements: PRDs, user stories and functional specs (and do it fast)
• Run client discovery sessions and earn trust quickly, including with CFOs and PE operators
• Own sprint planning and delivery coordination across your pod’s AI engineers and data scientists
• Define success criteria and KPIs for AI-powered features before they are built, not after
• Identify and communicate when an AI system isn’t performing reliably; bridge the gap between technical diagnosis and client-facing communication
• Use AI tools for 50%+ of your written output: requirements, stakeholder communications, research, and sprint planning
• Travel to client site as needed

Success in the First 6 Months

• Lead requirements and delivery coordination for at least one end-to-end AI engagement, from discovery through production
• Establish a reputation with your pod and with clients as someone who can run a room, write a tight PRD, and hold a sprint together
• Demonstrate materially faster output because of how you use AI tools, not just that you use them
• Show that you understand AI system behavior well enough to write requirements that aren’t naive about what LLMs can and can’t do

• PE or finance domain experience: FP&A, financial close, ERP systems, or finance transformation programs
• Background in consulting or professional services delivery
• Experience with the commercial dimension of AI products—thinking about adoption, product-market fit, and client value capture, not just delivery
• Demonstrated ability to translate messy, ambiguous business problems into clear engineering requirements
• Experience working directly with engineers on AI/ML or data-intensive products
• Strong written communication skills, you can write a tight PRD, user story, or functional spec (and you can do it fast)
• Comfort with iterative, sprint-based delivery under real time pressure. The world is changing around us, and you’ll drive our products as an agent of change.

This is a high-velocity environment. Sprints are short, client expectations are high, and we don’t slow down between engagements. If you’ve spent time in large enterprise engineering organizations where velocity is constrained by process, this will feel different.

The annual salary for this role ranges from: $144,500 to $230,000 USD + significant bonus + benefits. Actual compensation packages are determined by evaluating a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to geographic location, skill set, years and depth of experience, education, certifications, cost of labor and internal equity.
