This position exists to develop and enhance the customer onboarding experience and set up systems owned by the Customer Journey (CJ) team, within the Multi-Product Platform (MPP) division. The role plays a critical part in helping the team deliver on its mission: making POV (Proof of Value) onboarding smoother, faster, and increasingly self-serve. You will contribute directly to the backend systems that take enterprise customers from evaluation to full deployment, and help strengthen the team’s ability to deliver reliable, automated onboarding workflows at scale.
Abnormal AI is looking for a driven and growth‑oriented Backend Software Engineer to join the Customer Journey (CJ) team. The team builds and maintains Abnormal’s customer onboarding and tenant management systems within the Multi-Product Platform (MPP) division. As a member of the team, you will build and scale backend services, contribute to automating manual steps in the onboarding process, and help decouple downstream systems from the onboarding pipeline. You’ll work across APIs, backend services, and data workflows to solve technical challenges related to large-scale customer provisioning at scale. We’re looking for candidates who are eager to learn, excited to work collaboratively, and motivated by building systems that directly impact how customers experience Abnormal.
Once you apply, you’ll be invited to our AI-powered Development Challenge, where you’ll gain hands-on experience with AI-powered tools like Cursor and Copilot to build real-world application features. This challenge is a take-home assignment, requiring 2-4 hours of work to be completed within one week - apply when you’re ready!

Abnormal AI is looking for a Staff Software Engineer to serve as the technical lead for the APAC leg of our Multi-Product Platform division. Our team owns the full customer journey — from the moment a prospect sees a demo to the day they're a fully onboarded, thriving customer — and everything in between.
At Abnormal, we keep our customers — ranging from Global 2000 organisations to small businesses — safe from complex, cutting-edge attacks that could cause financial loss and disrupt business operations. Our novel approach to email security, account takeover detection, and other use cases has made us one of the fastest-growing security companies of all time, with 15%+ of the Fortune 500 among our customers. As we cement our leadership in email security, expanding our product portfolio is the next bold chapter — and our team is at the centre of it.
Few roles let you work at this many levels simultaneously. Day to day, you will partner directly with engineering and product leaders across the R&D organisation — shaping the roadmap, making the hard architectural calls, and being the person the team looks to when the path forward isn't obvious. What you build won't live in the background: it will be the foundation that tens of thousands of users interact with, the infrastructure that powers Abnormal's growing App Store, and the self-serve experience that makes onboarding and offboarding seamless for our customers.
Beyond the technical depth, you'll operate at the intersection of product strategy, distributed systems, and international expansion — shaping how Abnormal enters new markets, serves the public sector, and reaches customers across segments. The problems are genuinely hard, the stakes are real, and the team around you is strong. If you've been looking for the role where you finally get to build at full scale — with the autonomy to architect boldly and the context to make decisions that stick — this is it.
This is a leadership role. You will contribute both code and guidance — you are accountable for delivering great solutions and for improving the team around you.
Abnormal AI is a mission-driven company at an inflection point. We're not just adding features — we're expanding the frontier of what enterprise security looks like, and doing it at the speed the threat landscape demands. You'll work with people who care deeply about craft, take ownership seriously, and believe that great engineering and great security are inseparable.

The Inbound Data Team (IDT) owns the integrations and data ingestion systems that make critical signals available that powers multiple downstream products and related detection/remediation services. SaaS integrations extend coverage beyond email to provide cross-platform visibility into user behavior and centralize compromised account detection and remediation across identity, collaboration, and cloud infrastructure applications. This product line (and the downstream consumers it supports) is one of Abnormal’s biggest strategic bets and will drive significant company growth over the next several years. IDT’s work is foundational: by delivering reliable, timely, and contextual data, the team enables downstream detection systems, ML models, and remediation processes to operate effectively.
We’re hiring a Senior Software Engineer (SWE3) to design, build, and operate high-scale, low-latency ingestion and data-integration systems that serve multiple product lines. This role combines hands-on backend systems work, production ownership, and mentorship responsibilities to increase reliability, reduce latency, and accelerate feature delivery across the organization.
