The Occupational Therapist provides therapy services to children and their families, with an emphasis on fine and gross motor development, oral motor development, sensory, and feeding.
Compensation: $45/hr-$46/hr
Schedule: Monday-Friday 1pm to 6pm (25 hours per week) with option to ramp up to full time

Physical Health and Well-being: Promote healthy lifestyle choices through exercise programs, nutritional guidance, and wellness activities. Support adults with disabilities in maintaining personal health routines and making healthy choices in their lives.
Recreational and Social Activities: Organize and lead engaging recreational activities that encourage socialization, teamwork, and personal growth. These may include sports, games, movie nights, and holiday celebrations.
Job Skill Training: Lead group training sessions to develop pre-vocational skills. Assist clients in identifying career interests, learn relevant skills needed in the workplace, and develop workplace etiquette.
Creative Arts and Personal Expression: Facilitate accessible art classes, music sessions, and other creative activities that allow adults with disabilities to express themselves and explore new interests. Encourage participation in community art shows or performances when appropriate.
Person-Centered Planning: Participate in developing and implementing individualized support plans. Collaborate with team members, adults served, families, and interdisciplinary teams to set goals, track progress, and adjust plans as needed to ensure each person's unique needs and aspirations are addressed.
Celebrate Progress: Document learning and goal progress for adults with disabilities in case management system.

Act as a Mandated Reporter, reporting any known or suspected adult/child abuse.

This position focuses on connecting families to early childhood mental health resources, providing care coordination, and coaching colleagues on engaging families around mental health, social-emotional well-being, and trauma-informed practices for children ages birth to 5

Serve as a direct resource for parents/caregivers of children under 6 with social-emotional or developmental concerns
Provide warm referrals and follow-up for families needing early childhood mental health services
Support parents identified through ASQ-3 and ASQ-SE2 screenings, especially those with low protective factors
Build and maintain a comprehensive database of early childhood mental health services in San Mateo County (eligibility, availability, service types)
Generate monthly reports on referrals, outcomes, and barriers to care
Document timely and accurate case notes and contribute to continuous quality improvement (CQI)
Provide coaching and guidance to Help Me Grow and Family Resource Center Coordinators on engaging families in conversations about mental health, well-being, and trauma
Participate in case reviews and team meetings to offer strategies and resources for families with high needs
Assist in identifying mental health professional development opportunities for staff
Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with mental health providers and community partners
Represent Help Me Grow at countywide meetings such as Round Table, Systems Change, and other mental health-focused committees
Elevate trends and barriers identified through family interactions to inform broader systems change
Support in-person and virtual parent-child groups
Participate in family-community outreach events, resource fairs, and educational workshops
Serve as a public-facing advocate for Help Me Grow and early childhood mental health in the community
