Overview of Role

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Oracle DBA with 7–8 years of experience to join our Managed Services team. This role is unique; you will be responsible for maintaining the stability and performance of our current legacy environments while simultaneously architecting, migrating, and managing our future-state database infrastructure.

As a consultant-minded DBA, you will act as a trusted advisor to our customers, ensuring their data remains secure, highly available, and scalable as they transition to modern cloud or hybrid architectures.

Responsibilities

Core Database Management (Current State)

• Administration: Perform day-to-day monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Oracle 12c, 19c, and 21c environments.
• Performance Tuning: Proactively identify bottlenecks using AWR, ADDM, and ASH reports. Optimize complex SQL queries and memory structures.
• High Availability: Manage and maintain Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and GoldenGate for real-time replication and disaster recovery.
• Security & Patching: Execute quarterly RU/PSU patching and ensure compliance with security standards (encryption, auditing, and user access control).

Strategic Transition (Future State)

• Cloud Migration: Lead the migration of on-premises databases to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), AWS (RDS/EC2), or Azure.
• Modernization: Implement and manage Autonomous Databases (ADW/ATP) and Exadata Cloud Service.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Utilize Terraform or Ansible to automate database provisioning and configuration management.
• Architecture Design: Assist in designing scalable, multi-tenant architectures that align with the customer’s long-term digital transformation goals.

Managed Services Excellence

• SLA Management: Ensure all database services meet or exceed defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Customer Advisory: Translate technical database concepts into business value for stakeholders.
• Incident Management: Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for critical production outages.

Technical Requirements

Qualifications

• Experience: 7–8 years of dedicated Oracle DBA experience, preferably within a Managed Services Provider (MSP) or a large-scale enterprise environment.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Certifications: Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) is required; OCI Solutions Architect or Autonomous Database Specialist certifications are highly desirable.
• Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to manage client expectations during high-pressure migrations.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring near-zero downtime with monitoring and alerting, self-healing automation, and continuous improvement
• Create highly automated, available and scalable systems by applying software and infrastructure principles
• Employ and advise clients on DevOps and SRE principles and practices, covering deployment pipelines, HA, service reliability, technical debt, and operational toil for live services running at scale
• Provide a proactive approach to our clients’ workloads, anticipating failures, automating tasks, ensuring availability, and providing a great customer experience
• Work closely with clients, your team, and Google engineers to investigate and resolve infrastructure issues
• Manage a Jira queue of inbound requests for numerous clients while effectively balancing and prioritizing projects
• Contribute to ad-hoc initiatives such as writing documentation, open-sourcing, and improving operation, making a huge impact at a rapid-growth Google Premier Partner

Qualifications

• Minimum 4+ years of cloud and infrastructure experience, including demonstrated expertise with Linux, Windows, k8s, databases, and networking services
• 2+ years of full-time Google Cloud experience preferred
• Proficiency with Python required. Other programming language experience is a plus
• Strong provisioning and configuration skills using Terraform
• Experience in troubleshooting that spans systems, network, and code
• Microsoft Server and SQL Server experience is a plus but not required
• Experience with 24x7x365 monitoring, incident response, and on-call support preferred
• Experience determining & negotiating Error budgets, SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs with product owners
• Demonstrate the ability to work independently and as a member of a greater team, including cross-team activities
• Experience working in Agile Scrum, Kanban methodologies in SDLC
• Proven experience balancing service reliability, metrics, sustainability, technical debt, and operational toil for live services running at scale
• Strong communication skills, as this is a heavily customer-facing role

Overview of Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Administrator to join our Managed Services team. This role is critical in maintaining the security, stability, and automation of a complex hybrid environment. You will be the primary guardian of our customer’s infrastructure, ensuring all Windows and Linux assets are patched, secure, and deployed using modern Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies.

Responsibilities

1. Patch & Vulnerability Management

• Cross-Platform Administration: Manage the end-to-end patching lifecycle for both Linux (RHEL/Ubuntu/CentOS) and Windows Server environments.
• Vulnerability Remediation: Analyze scan results from tools (e.g., Nessus, Qualys, or Rapid7), prioritize risks based on criticality, and execute remediation plans.
• Compliance Reporting: Maintain detailed records of patching cycles and vulnerability status to meet strict Managed Services SLAs and audit requirements.

2. GCP Infrastructure Administration

• Cloud Operations: Provision, configure, and maintain resources within Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including Compute Engine, VPCs, IAM, and Cloud Storage.
• Cost & Performance Optimization: Monitor cloud health and implement scaling policies to ensure cost-efficiency and high availability.

3. Automation & Image Management

• Infrastructure as Code: Utilize Ansible to automate repetitive tasks, configuration management, and complex application deployments.
• Immutable Infrastructure: Develop and maintain automated machine image builds (Golden Images) using Packer for multi-cloud and on-premise consistency.
