About the team and position
The Facilities Maintenance role is a site-based position responsible for the hands-on maintenance, safety, and upkeep of assigned ADESA auction locations. Reporting directly to the Facilities Team Lead, this role serves as the primary on-site resource for day-to-day facility operations ensuring that buildings, grounds, and equipment are maintained to company standards. This position works within the centralized Service Channel platform to manage work orders, coordinate vendor activity, and support the safe and efficient operation of each auction site.
What you’ll be doing
- Serve as the on-site point of contact for all facility maintenance, repair, and safety needs at assigned auction location(s).
- Manage and execute day-to-day work orders through Service Channel, ensuring timely completion and accurate documentation.
- Perform minor repairs and maintenance to property, buildings, and equipment; escalate complex or high-cost repairs to the Facilities Team Lead.
- Monitor facility conditions daily in buildings, grounds, equipment, and common areas to ensure cleanliness, safety, and compliance with company and auction standards.
- Coordinate with approved vendors and contractors for repairs and maintenance; provide on-site access and oversight as needed.
- Ensure all safety precautions and company policies are observed at all times to protect employees and customers.
- Identify and report any facility conditions that could negatively impact operations, personnel, equipment, or safety to the Facilities Team Lead immediately.
- Maintain a current list of emergency contractors and repair contacts for the assigned location.
- Account for and manage all keys, access codes, and security information for assigned facilities.
- Support compliance with all contractual customer, contractor, and supplier agreements at the site level.
- Respond to and follow proper procedures for employee or customer accidents, injuries, or property damage; report all incidents to the Facilities Team Lead promptly.
- Assist the Facilities Team Lead with budget tracking by providing accurate documentation of site-level spend and repair activity.
- Participate in team meetings and training as directed; maintain adherence to company policies, procedures, and applicable state and federal regulations.
- Practice and promote teamwork, professionalism, and a positive work environment at all times.
- Perform all additional duties as directed by the Facilities Team Lead or Facilities Manager.
What you should have/know
- High School Diploma or GED with a basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical system and two (2) years of supervision/maintenance management experience required. Must be qualified to operate a motor vehicle and possess a valid driver’s license.
It would be great if you also have
- A forklift certification or the ability to become forklift certified.

Physical Requirements: The physical activity requirements of the position are Light to Medium Physical Work. (Refer to Policy HR-200 for definitions)
Visual acuity requirements include color, depth perception, and field of vision comparable to definitions for Clerical, Administrative, Machine Operators (including inspection), positions. (Refer to Policy HR-200 for definitions)

Physical Working Condition:
This position is subject to inside and outside environmental working conditions including temperature changes, outside weather conditions, slightly elevated ambient noise levels, minor potential physical hazards as electrical, mechanical, and cleaning equipment, body shop, painting and cleaning chemicals; and minor atmospheric conditions affecting skin or respiratory systems such as fumes, odors and dusts associated with mechanic or body shop and paint operations.
