A Sr. Human Relations Investigator – ADA Coordinator job is available with the City of Fort Worth Human Resources department. The Sr. Human Relations Investigator/ADA Coordinator is tasked with ensuring accessibility to city programs and services as well as investigating claims of discrimination related to businesses and facilities that serve the general public, such as restaurants, hotels, theaters, and other commercial establishments
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in public administration, business administration, community engagement, social work, or a related field.
- Three (3) years if increasingly responsible experience in a related field.
- One (1) year of experience supporting disability advocacy, compliance or other programs, preferably at a municipality or public entity.
- Valid Texas driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)Title II, Title III and their applications to City government
- Knowledge of Title VI, transportation regulations and ADA Design Standards
- Certified Mediator and/or direct experience as an investigator
The Sr. Human Relations Investigator – ADA Coordinator job responsibilities include:
- Serves as the primary point of contact for Title VI and ADA related inquiries and grievances.
- Researches and gathers information relevant to filed complaints of discrimination; reviews and analyzes evidence obtained; and provides recommendations, final investigative reports and letters of investigative determination.
- Conducts on-site investigations; review files; interviews witnesses; purges evidentiary files; draws observations; takes photographs and measurements; analyzes evidence; and drafts letters of determination.
- Participates in developing, presenting, and coordinating educational programs to various groups and agencies during public events and/or private training sessions.
- Monitors and tracks compliance with federal and local guidelines related to ADA compliance

Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, and repetitive motions, climbing, balancing, pushing, pulling and lifting.
Light Work – Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or or negligible amount of force constantly having to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for the Sedentary work category and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated Light Work.
