Sobre esta vaga de Software Engineer, II - Simulation na Torc Robotics
About the Company
At Torc, we have always believed that autonomous vehicle technology will transform how we travel, move freight, and do business. A leader in autonomous driving since 2007, Torc has spent over a decade commercializing our solutions with experienced partners. Now a part of the Daimler family, we are focused solely on developing software for automated trucks to transform how the world moves freight. Join us and catapult your career with the company that helped pioneer autonomous technology, and the first AV software company with the vision to partner directly with a truck manufacturer.
Meet The Team:
Our simulation team is the critical technical bridge between verification, model delivery and autonomy consumers, building the foundation for AV 3.0 driver-out development and certification. We develop and integrate robust, scalable cloud-based simulation tools and infrastructure that support massive-scale, parallel execution for V&V and high-throughput RL training.
What you’ll do:
You’ll define, build and support testing of our autonomous trucks in a virtual testing environment, using a combination of data replay from real-world test data and simulation of real-world test and driving scenarios.
As a subject matter expert in the use of simulation, you'll provide expertise and assistance in the generation of test scenarios to support testing of our simulation tools, providing feedback on its features and providing examples of its use as well as supporting teams with using our simulation tools. You will also support testing virtual driver software and will provide additional support in the use of simulation-based and data replay-based tools and test environments.
As an implementer, you would develop simulation-based test scenarios, oversee execution of test plans and associated scenarios in the simulation and replay-based test environments, perform post-test activities including test event log analysis, and help to identify requirements for new or modified virtual testing tools, test infrastructure, and simulations of real-world components including vehicle sensors and their related environment.
What you’ll need to succeed:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Robotics Engineering, Systems Engineering, or engineering equivalent with 6 years of experience OR a Master's Degree with 3+ years of experience OR a PhD + 1 year of experience.
- Understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
- Understanding of how Simulation based testing can be applied, and the appropriate use of recompute simulation
- Experience developing Test Scenarios and debugging software issues
- Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) simulation and testing methodologies
- Ability to lead virtual testing events within specific areas of system, tracing and troubleshooting the entire software stack
- Ability to mentor lower-level engineers
- Experience reporting out to product and quality management on testing progress.
Bonus Points!
- Programming experience in C++ and using Python (scripting)
- ROS (Robot Operating System)
- Software and system troubleshooting and problem-solving with specific focus on system-level analysis, fault isolation and identification
- Working knowledge of Test-Driven Development Methodology and test framework architectures
- Kanban, Scrum or Scaled Agile development
