The primary focus of this role is to design and oversee the development of data pipelines that move data from the new Syspro Replica environment into the existing legacy reporting environment. This interim solution is required so that existing operational, financial, SSRS, Vivid, Excel, and Power BI reports continue to function during the plant-by-plant ERP transition.
This role will provide technical leadership and oversee the work of other data specialists, coordinate with internal resources and external implementation partners, and ensure the solution is reliable, scalable, well-documented, and aligned with Sunrise Farms’ needs.
Over time, this role will work with our implementation partner on our future state Snowflake-based Medallion Architecture.
High-performing contractors will be considered for future full-time opportunities as Sunrise Farms establishes its internal Data Management team.

Define the technical approach for extracting data from the Syspro Replica environment and loading it into the legacy SQL reporting environment.
-
Establish development standards for ELT/ETL pipelines, SQL logic, reconciliation, monitoring, error handling, and documentation.
-
Review and approve design decisions, technical specifications, and development outputs from junior resources, internal team members, and external implementation partners.
-
Ensure that the interim solution supports reporting continuity while avoiding unnecessary rework or misalignment with the future Snowflake architecture.
2. Data Pipeline Development & Oversight
-
Design and oversee development of pipelines that extract data from the Syspro Replica environment and load it into the legacy SQL reporting environment..
-
Lead development of ETL/ELT processes for incremental and near real-time data synchronization, which is specifically identified as a key responsibility in the deck.

Ensure business logic currently implemented in the legacy SQL reporting environment is documented to support future Snowflake Bronze, Silver, and Gold layer design.
-
Support future Medallion Architecture planning by ensuring that interim work captures the business rules and mapping logic needed for Snowflake migration.
