We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced QA Engineer with 4–8 years of experience in testing desktop applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of software quality assurance methodologies, test planning, defect management, and end-to-end testing of desktop-based software products. You will work closely with developers, product managers, and cross-functional teams to ensure the delivery of reliable, high-quality desktop applications that provide an exceptional user experience.

Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scenarios for desktop applications.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, system, smoke, and exploratory testing to ensure product quality.
- Validate application functionality, usability, stability, and performance across supported desktop environments.
- Identify, document, prioritize, and track software defects using bug tracking tools while collaborating with developers to resolve issues.
- Participate in requirement analysis and design reviews to provide quality-focused feedback early in the development lifecycle.
- Verify bug fixes and perform regression testing before software releases.
- Collaborate with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into effective test strategies.
- Ensure software meets defined quality standards, acceptance criteria, and release readiness.
- Maintain detailed test documentation, execution reports, and defect metrics.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, testing methodologies, and quality standards.
- Support release validation and post-release verification activities.
- Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and other Agile ceremonies.
Required Skills
- 4–8 years of professional experience in Software Quality Assurance (QA).
- Hands-on experience testing desktop applications on Windows and/or macOS platforms.
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, SDLC, and STLC.
- Experience creating detailed test plans, test cases, and defect reports.
- Strong knowledge of functional, regression, integration, system, and user acceptance testing.
- Experience using defect tracking and test management tools.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to identify edge cases and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.
- Experience working in Agile or Scrum development environments.
Good to Have
- Exposure to test automation concepts and automation frameworks.
- Experience with API testing and basic database validation.
- Familiarity with performance, security, or compatibility testing.
- Basic scripting knowledge for test automation or utility creation.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery practices.
- Understanding of version control systems such as Git.
- Knowledge of usability and accessibility testing best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant QA certifications are an added advantage.
