We are looking for a talented Memory Circuit Design Engineer to join our semiconductor design team and contribute to the development of next-generation memory IPs. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and optimizing high-performance, low-power memory circuits for advanced technology nodes. You will collaborate closely with layout, physical design, characterization, verification, and process teams to deliver robust and manufacturable memory solutions.
The ideal candidate has strong expertise in analog and digital circuit design, a solid understanding of semiconductor device physics, and hands-on experience with memory architectures such as SRAM, DRAM, ROM, register files, or embedded memory macros. Exposure to standard cell design and characterization will be considered an added advantage.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize memory circuits for performance, power, area, and reliability.
- Create transistor-level designs for memory building blocks, including bit cells, sense amplifiers, decoders, write drivers, precharge circuits, and peripheral logic.
- Perform schematic capture, circuit simulation, and design validation using industry-standard EDA tools.
- Conduct timing, noise, power, and variation analysis across multiple process, voltage, and temperature (PVT) corners.
- Work closely with layout engineers to ensure layout-aware circuit optimization and successful post-layout verification.
- Analyze silicon results and debug circuit-level issues to improve design robustness and yield.
- Collaborate with architecture, physical design, verification, and characterization teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Support design reviews, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance memory IP quality and efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, VLSI Design, or a related discipline.
- 2–10 years of hands-on experience in memory circuit design or custom circuit design.
- Strong understanding of CMOS fundamentals, transistor behavior, and semiconductor device physics.
- Experience working with advanced technology nodes and custom memory circuit implementation.
- Excellent analytical and debugging skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and fast-paced engineering environment.
Must-Have Skills
- Strong expertise in Circuit Design for memory architectures.
- Hands-on experience with transistor-level design and simulation.
- Knowledge of SRAM, DRAM, ROM, embedded memories, or register files.
- Experience with SPICE simulations and circuit optimization techniques.
- Familiarity with timing, power, signal integrity, and variability analysis.
- Understanding of PVT analysis, Monte Carlo simulations, and design reliability.
- Experience with EDA tools such as Cadence Virtuoso, Spectre, HSPICE, or equivalent.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and optimization skills.
Good-to-Have Skills
- Experience in Standard Cell Design and characterization.
- Knowledge of custom digital cell development and optimization.
- Familiarity with layout design, DRC/LVS, parasitic extraction, and post-layout simulations.
- Exposure to FinFET or advanced process technologies.
- Understanding of low-power design methodologies and high-speed memory interfaces.
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or TCL for design automation.
- Experience with silicon bring-up, failure analysis, and yield improvement.
