About the Role
We're looking for an Associate Customer Success Engineer to join our Customer Success Engineering team. This is a great next step for someone with 1–3 years of experience in a customer-facing technical role who wants to grow into a career in cloud security and customer success engineering.
You'll work alongside senior CSEs and Customer Success Managers to support Orca customers day-to-day — helping them get value from the platform, troubleshooting technical questions, and learning the ins and outs of cloud security along the way. You won't be thrown into the deep end: you'll be paired with experienced teammates, given structured ramp-up time, and coached as you take on more complex accounts and conversations.
What You'll Do
- Serve as a front-line technical point of contact for a portfolio of small-to-mid-size customer accounts, with support from senior CSEs on more complex issues.
- Help customers troubleshoot platform questions — configuration, integrations, alert findings, and basic cloud environment issues — in partnership with Support and Engineering.
- Assist with customer onboarding: environment connections, initial configuration, and getting new customers to their first “aha moment” with the platform.
- Support Customer Success Managers by preparing technical materials for check-ins, business reviews, and renewal conversations.
- Shadow and, over time, co-lead technical workshops and architecture discussions with customers.
- Document recurring issues, build internal runbooks, and contribute to the CSE knowledge base as you learn.
- Track and escalate product issues and feature gaps to Product and Engineering, and follow up with customers on resolution.
- Build foundational knowledge of cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and the broader CNAPP / cloud security space.
What We're Looking For
- 1–3 years of experience in a customer facing technical role - e.g., Technical Support Engineer, Support/Solutions Engineer, Implementation Engineer, junior DevOps or Security Engineer, or similar.
- Working familiarity with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP) — hands-on project or lab experience counts.
- Comfort reading logs, APIs, and basic scripts (Python or Bash) to help diagnose issues; you don't need to be a developer, but you shouldn't be afraid of the command line.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills - you can explain a technical concept clearly to both an engineer and a non-technical stakeholder.
- A genuine curiosity about cybersecurity and cloud infrastructure, and eagerness to build deeper expertise on the job.
- Comfortable managing multiple customer conversations at once and prioritizing under some ambiguity.
- Based in or able to work from our Delhi or Bangalore hub (preferred); open to some schedule overlap with customers in other time zones (e.g., US/EU) as needed.
Nice to Have
- Exposure to containers/Kubernetes fundamentals.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform).
- A cloud certification (e.g., AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner/Solutions Architect Associate, Azure Fundamentals, GCP Associate).
- Prior exposure to security concepts (vulnerabilities, misconfigurations, compliance frameworks) — not required, we'll teach this.
