The Role
We're looking for an Associate Creative Director, Copy to to define the next chapter of the SimplePractice brand. You'll help shape how millions of health and wellness professionals experience our voice across every touchpoint, leading breakthrough campaigns, evolving our messaging, and building the systems that make exceptional creative scale. Reporting to the Creative Director, you'll partner closely with Design, Brand, Growth, Product Marketing, Web, Production, and other cross-functional teams to concept and launch integrated campaigns that strengthen our brand, drive business results, and create meaningful connections with our audience.
As a member of the Creative Leadership Team, you'll help define and evolve our brand voice, mentor writers, raise the quality of creative work across every channel, and contribute to building an AI-enabled, high-performing creative organization.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone with exceptional creative instincts, strong editorial judgment, and a passion for crafting work that is both strategically smart and emotionally compelling. You'll lead by doing. Concepting, writing, editing, coaching, and collaborating across disciplines in a fast-paced, highly iterative environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead integrated creative campaigns from concept through launch across paid media, web, lifecycle, social, video, events, product marketing, and emerging channels.
- Partner closely with Creative Leadership, Design, Growth, Product Marketing, Production, and cross-functional teams to develop breakthrough creative concepts that strengthen the brand and drive measurable business outcomes.
- Develop compelling, emotionally resonant messaging that builds brand awareness, deepens customer connection, and supports acquisition, engagement, and retention goals.
- Own and evolve the SimplePractice brand voice, messaging frameworks, and tone across every customer touchpoint.
- Remain a hands-on creative leader by concepting, writing, editing, and providing copy direction throughout the creative process.
- Lead messaging, scripting, and creative direction for integrated and video campaigns in partnership with internal teams and external production partners.
- Provide thoughtful creative direction, coaching, and editorial feedback that elevates the work of writers and cross-functional creative teams.
- Build scalable copy systems, messaging frameworks, voice and tone guidelines, and creative templates that enable consistency while supporting speed and flexibility.

- Mentor and develop copywriters while helping shape creative standards, team culture, and ways of working.
- Partner with Design, Web, Growth, Product Marketing, and Production to evaluate creative performance, apply customer insights, and continuously improve messaging through experimentation and iteration.
- Present creative concepts and strategic rationale to executive stakeholders, building alignment and confidence across the organization.
- Champion AI-enabled creative workflows by integrating AI into ideation, production, and creative operations to accelerate execution, streamline processes, and enable smarter experimentation.
- Foster a culture of experimentation and continuous learning by exploring emerging AI technologies while maintaining the highest standards of creative quality, originality, and human craft.
Desired Skills & Experience
- 10+ years of experience in brand copywriting, advertising, or integrated creative, either agency-side, in-house, or both.
- An exceptional portfolio demonstrating outstanding creative thinking, integrated campaigns, brand storytelling, and copywriting across multiple channels.
- A strong conceptual thinker who can connect creative ideas to measurable business outcomes.
- Deep expertise in brand voice, messaging, storytelling, and copywriting across digital and integrated marketing campaigns.
- An exceptional writer, editor, and storyteller with outstanding creative judgment and a proven ability to develop distinctive brand voices across integrated marketing.
- Experience leading and mentoring writers through coaching, feedback, and creative direction.
- Comfortable balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution, shifting seamlessly between leadership and doing the work.
- AI-forward in your approach, with hands-on experience leveraging AI tools to improve creative workflows, accelerate execution, enhance creative quality, and enable smarter experimentation while knowing when human judgment and craft matter most.
- Experience leading script development and creative direction for video productions.
- Strong understanding of digital marketing channels and platform-specific copywriting best practices.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills. Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering exceptional creative work.
- Demonstrates a deep appreciation for the work of behavioral health professionals and a passion for creating messaging that is empathetic, human, and grounded in the realities of independent practice.
- Thrives in a fast-paced, highly collaborative, test-and-learn environment with shifting priorities and tight timelines.
- Familiarity with Figma and Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.

Base salary is one component of total compensation. Employees may also be eligible for an annual bonus or commission. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay.
