FIM (Fulcrum Infrastructure Management) is a management services company, managing social infrastructure assets on behalf of our parent company; global infrastructure investment company, Meridiam.
We are seeking an experienced Assistant General Manager to support the management and performance of a portfolio of LIFTCo assets, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and delivering effective operational, financial and stakeholder outcomes across the portfolio.
Key Requirements
- Experience within a LIFT, PFI or PPP environment, ideally within an SPV or asset management setting.
- Strong understanding of contractual rights, obligations and compliance requirements.
- Experience managing stakeholders at Board, investor and operational levels.
- Proven ability to lead teams, drive performance and deliver service improvements.
- Strong report writing, presentation and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
About the Role
As Assistant General Manager, you will work closely with the General Manager to support the overall management and performance of the LIFTCos and their subsidiaries, ensuring that all obligations under the Management Services Agreements and wider project documentation are effectively delivered. You will play a key role in maintaining strong relationships with Boards, shareholders, public sector partners and service providers, ensuring the successful operation of the portfolio.
You will be responsible for monitoring contractual compliance, supporting governance activities and preparing reports and papers for Board meetings. This includes coordinating Board activities, contributing to strategic business planning, supporting financial reporting and ensuring that risks are appropriately identified, managed and mitigated. You will also contribute to quarterly Board reporting covering operational performance, health and safety, statutory compliance, ESG activities, stakeholder engagement and financial performance.
Working closely with Operations Managers, Asset Managers, FM providers and finance teams, you will support the delivery of lifecycle programmes, manage tenant variation requests, oversee defect management processes and ensure that assets continue to meet contractual and operational requirements. You will also support dispute resolution, contractual matters and end-of-concession planning activities where required.
The role includes line management responsibility for Operations Managers and Asset Managers, ensuring teams are supported, developed and aligned to business objectives. You will promote a positive and collaborative working culture, fostering high performance, accountability and continuous improvement across the team.
About You
You are an experienced asset, operations or contract management professional with a strong understanding of the PPP, PFI or LIFT environment. You are commercially aware, highly organised and capable of balancing strategic priorities with operational delivery.
You have excellent relationship-building skills and are confident working with senior stakeholders, Boards, public sector partners and service providers. You enjoy taking ownership, solving complex problems and driving improvements that deliver value to both the business and its stakeholders.
