The SPLC is seeking an Analyst, Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning who is passionate about social justice.  


The MEAL Analyst partners with program teams across the organization to support design, facilitation, monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning processes. The role supports teams in making sense of complex social change work, developing practical learning and measurement approaches, and using evidence, reflection, and community input to inform strategy, decision-making, and relational accountability practices.

Analytical. Knowledgeable with MEAL concepts and tools to support program effectiveness.

Solutions Oriented. Proactive and creative thinking about ways to find practical solutions to challenges faced by communities as well as internal departments and teams. Willing to try different approaches to find a solution.

Detail Driven. Skilled in maintaining a high degree of organizational skills with an astute focus on consistency, accuracy and attention to detail.

Mission, Vision, & Culture Alignment. Demonstrates an understanding of and a commitment to SPLC's mission, vision and values.

What You'll Do

Provide MEAL support throughout the project lifecycle, including project design, theory of change development, learning agenda creation, indicator design, reflection processes, and adaptive learning.

Facilitate collaborative learning and sense-making processes across departments, teams, and community partners. Supports the co-creation of relational accountability practices that center community perspectives and lived experiences.

Support the design and facilitation of planning, strategy, and learning sessions that help teams clarify goals, articulate assumptions, develop theories of change, identify meaningful indicators, and reflect on progress and challenges.

Contribute to the development of frameworks, tools, guidance documents, templates, and learning resources that strengthen organizational capacity in monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning.

Synthesize information from multiple sources- including qualitative insights, quantitative data, community feedback, and program documentation-to identify patterns, generate insights, and support strategic decision-making.

Perform other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job classification.

Minimum Qualifications 

We are committed to equitable hiring practices; therefore you must meet the minimum qualifications to be considered for the role.

  • Minimum 3 years of monitoring, evaluation, and accountability experience supporting programs with data-based decision making and experience working directly in communities in communities in at least one of SPLC's focus states; and
  • Bachelor's Degree in Political Science, Sociology, Measurement & Evaluation, Social Work, Education, Public Policy or related field.

Compensation & Benefits

This is an exempt role, and the minimum starting salary is $78,832 annually. Salary will be commensurate with experience.

Where & How You'll Work 

This role has the following work designations options:

  • Local Remote: Will work remotely but is expected to attend work-related activities that occur at the SPLC offices or in the states in which the SPLC operates.
  • Telework: Will work at an SPLC office at least three days per week and may work two days per week from an alternative work location.
  • This position will report to the Director, Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning.

Other Special Considerations 

This job is performed under general office conditions and is not subject to any strenuous physical demands or dangerous conditions.

This position is represented by the Washington-Baltimore News Guild.
