M9 Solutions is seeking an Advanced Mechanical Engineer to work onsite in support of a government contract for a client located in McLeansville, NC. A Secret clearance obtainable after hire is required.
Responsibilities
- Design, development, and testing of mechanical devices, including tools, engines, and machines.
- Apply principles of engineering, physics, and materials science to create mechanical solutions that are safe, efficient, and reliable.
- Fast-paced, quick-turn modeling and verification of research and development designs.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Secret security clearance obtainable after hire is required.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
- Working knowledge of computer-aided analysis tools (thermal, CFD, structural), such as Ansys.
- Working knowledge of computer-aided design tools (3D, 2D, layout), such as Creo.
- Experience with small form factor, high power electromechanical elements.
- Self-starting, detail-focused, problem solver.
- Experience with high-pressure applications, including sealing technologies.
- Demonstrated documentation experience — procedures, specifications, design packages, and engineering reports.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- Proficiency with modeling CAD tools to create mechanical models and drawings.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing and fabrication methods, as well as technical, government, and industry standards.
- Creative thinker capable of leading a team in the preparation of project design, testing, and prototype fabrication.
- Team player who thrives in collaborative environments and revels in team success.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development for yourself and others.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to document technical information to be consumed by technical and non-technical individuals.
