What you will do

• Design and maintain scalable IT infrastructure components across network, identity, and endpoint systems
• Manage and enhance our MDM landscape for Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android, including patch and lifecycle management

We are looking for an experienced Senior Backend Engineer to join our Platform hive as part of our Foundation Engineering team to work closely with all the other hives of the Product Development department, Tech and Business teams. Foundation Engineering is at the heart of this vision, delivering customer value by taking on the opportunities in tech to address, design and deliver on the future of tech in the business and personalise the experience of multi million customers in the near future. You will be responsible for helping us execute our Tech vision, that includes taking on opportunities such as designing our next generation systems such as search, authentication, and such enterprise wide themes as well as scaling our system to accommodate massive user growth.

This position can be based in Madrid, Barcelona or Valencia (in office-attendance is expected in the Valencia office ca. 3 days per month).

What you will do

• Ensure the productivity and resilience of our infrastructure, including monitoring and observability of our services
• Work on standardizing processes and building automation for data pipeline onboarding, deployment, scheduling, failure recovery, and other aspects of operating our platform
• Work closely with the SRE team to ensure developer productivity and CI/CD adoption within the Data Platform team
• Craft and operate the services, infrastructure, and tools that make up our platform to enable the execution of batch and streaming pipelines running on Kubernetes and GCP
• Work hands-on on topics as part of a closely knit team

What you will need to succeed

• You have gained 5+ years of experience in backend development
• You have experience in development, administration, operation, and troubleshooting of sophisticated, large-scale systems running on Kubernetes

We are looking for a Head of Infrastructure to own the strategy and execution of our hybrid infrastructure. This role is perfect for a leader who understands the "full stack" of infrastructure—from physical data centers to managed cloud services—and can bridge the gap between technical complexity and business goals.

You will lead a team of specialists, ensuring our Linux-based ecosystem and Kubernetes clusters (on-prem and cloud) are reliable, scalable, and fully automated.

Key Responsibilities

• Infrastructure Strategy: Develop the vision for a hybrid environment that balances the performance of on-prem bare metal with the agility of the public cloud.
• Architectural Oversight: Guide the design of robust, scalable solutions. You aren't the one clicking the buttons, but you are the one ensuring the architecture is sound.
• Team Leadership: Build and manage a high-performing team of DevOps and SRE engineers. Foster a culture of accountability and continuous learning.

• Networking Principles: Strong grasp of L2/L3 networking, routing, BGP, and load balancing, especially in the context of connecting data centers to the cloud.
• Kubernetes Ecosystem: Good understanding of K8s architecture, including how it runs on bare metal versus managed services (EKS/GKE). You should understand orchestration, persistent storage, and service discovery.
• Cloud Platforms: Experience managing environments in AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Modern Tooling: Familiarity with the CNCF landscape, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible).
