Role Overview

The Security Technical Program Manager (TPM) will be responsible for the definition, execution, and oversight of critical security programs focused on client assurance, operational compliance, and platform security. This role requires a strong focus on program management and cross-functional coordination to embed security and legal standardization across client projects and manage ongoing compliance activities. The ideal candidate will drive the standardization of legal verbiage and security practices across the organization's client-facing work, ensuring predictable execution, reduced risk, and consistent security standards for client codebases. This role partners closely with Security, Engineering, Legal, Compliance, and Client teams.

Key Responsibilities

Portfolio & Program Management

• Own the portfolio view of Tech Platforms within the broader security strategy.
• Structure and manage strategic programs required to deliver roadmap objectives
• Define milestones, delivery plans, and success metrics for major initiatives.
• Track progress against portfolio commitments and escalate risks proactively.
• Manage cross-functional dependencies across Engineering, Product Management, Legal, and other stakeholders.
• Support quarterly and annual planning cycles, including investment
• Ensure predictable execution through structured governance and reporting cadence.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Collaborate with Engineering, Product Management, Legal, Risk, and Compliance stakeholders.
• Facilitate stakeholder alignment, trade-off decisions (e.g., security vs. speed), and expectation management.
• Influence without direct authority to drive secure design principles and manage cross-functional projects to ensure delivery.

Client Project Standardization:

• Lead the strategic initiative to standardize legal verbiage and security requirements across client projects.
• Client Code Security: Drive implementation of consistent security standardization to secure client codes and ensure ongoing maintenance and protection of the codebase.
• Own the coordination of security deployment approvals for client projects with clients, engineering and security teams

Operational Security & Compliance

• Coordinate PCI compliance efforts by creating required reports and managing activities for all PCI accounts.Manage the coordination of the yearly PCI/ISO Audit for all accounts within the Tech Platform.Conduct quarterly User Access Reviews (UAR) to certify user access for AWSGenerate and report artifacts for 1LOD, 2LOD, 3LOD for corrective action plan and risk reduction plans

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in technical program management, cybersecurity, or risk management
• Demonstrated experience in Product Security (AppSec), DevSecOps, or AI/ML Security domains.
• Demonstrated experience building and managing strategic roadmaps tied to measurable outcomes.
• Strong understanding of security compliance frameworks (e.g., PCI, ISO) and operational security domains (e.g., User Access Reviews, AWS security roles, Secure SDLC/SAST)
• Strong understanding of secure development practices, vulnerability management, and common software security frameworks.
• Proven ability to partner with engineering and legal teams to drive standardization and manage security due diligence.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated experience facilitating stakeholder alignment and influencing without direct authority
• Experience working in matrixed organizations and managing dependencies across multiple business units.

About the role

We're looking for a hands-on engineering leader to manage and grow a high-performing team within our Cyberbank Core team. Cyberbank Core is a next generation lean banking core that is part of the Galileo suite of banking APIs and was built from the ground up at Galileo/SoFi. This technology powers SoFi Bank and we are hard at work expanding its footprint and capabilities to better support a post-fiat world.

You’ll drive delivery, partner with the Product team to define and build features, own operational excellence for your services, and own definition and execution of the team’s technical roadmap.  You’ll play a key role in scaling resilient systems and supporting strategic product development at Galileo and SoFi.

• 7+ years programming experience, ideally on a modern stack
• 5+ years of software engineering management experience (can overlap a bit with programming experience)
• Hands-on experience with Continuous Delivery principles and techniques, including unit testing, build & deploy pipelines, and testing in production.
• Ability to coordinate and deliver work with dependencies across multiple teams
• Demonstrated expertise in building and operating resilient software components within a large scale distributed system
• Experience building/operating services on AWS/cloud environment 
• Experience building bank core or ledger technology is a plus, but is not required

Operating as a collaborative consultant and team contributor, you will actively engage in various aspects of product development. In your position, you will work alongside various teams, such as designers, engineers, and other departments, to create the product strategy and roadmap, bringing the client's vision to life. Your duties encompass the full product lifecycle, from concept to launch. 

What are the main responsibilities of this role?

• Lead the delivery process for multiple initiatives in parallel while working in cross-functional teams. 
• Provide leadership in product discovery for products in the 0 to 1 and growth stages, guiding the team in identifying opportunities and solutions.
• Manage stakeholders and their expectations.
• Identify and define problems accurately, generate ideas, and prioritize them with input from key stakeholders.
• Elaborate on a roadmap to help everyone understand where the product is going and be the vision keeper.
• Write precise, efficient product specs, including transforming requirements into user stories that can be developed on the sprints.
• Participate actively in standard agile ceremonies (daily standups, backlog refinement, sprint retrospectives, sprint demos, etc.)
• Collaborate with other leaders on the team and work actively with stakeholders on the product strategy to drive outcome-oriented results.

Which skills and experience do we envision for this role?

• Candidates must have a proven track record of successfully launching digital products to the market. (Required)
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience as a product manager, preferably with a software development or technical background, helps understand the product lifecycle, development processes, and the challenges of bringing new products to the market (Required).
• A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as computer science, engineering, or a technical field, is beneficial.
• Experience working closely with product teams, designers, and engineers to deliver the highest quality user experience.
• You can demonstrate your Product Management skills: Prioritization, discovery, analytics, negotiation, facilitation, ownership, and research.
• Advanced experience with the Agile development process and a clear understanding of the digital product development lifecycle. 
• Proven relevant technical skills, data analysis, technical writing, implementation of product analytics tools, A/B testing, and programming basics are a plus.
• Advanced or bilingual English for non-native speakers (Required).

• Deep expertise in digital marketing and customer experience solutions across data, content, personalization, commerce, analytics, and engagement.
• Hands-on knowledge or certification with Adobe Experience Cloud products: Experience Platform (AEP), Experience Manager (AEM), Target, Journey Optimizer, Customer Journey Analytics, Workfront, and Adobe Cloud Services.
• Strong track record of delivering successful enterprise integrations and digital marketing transformations involving analytics, personalization, testing/optimization, and customer data activation.
• Proven ability to engage senior executives (CMO, CIO, CXO) and facilitate consensus across business and IT stakeholders.
• Excellent communication skills—able to simplify complexity for non-technical stakeholders and dive deep with technical teams.
• Strong problem-solving, facilitation, and strategic thinking skills with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Experience creating solution blueprints, capability maps, and strategic roadmaps.
• Consulting background or experience in a world-class technology services organization preferred.

• Willingness to travel up to 40%.
